Avatar Physics?

While I was installing the latest version of the Firestorm viewer about a week ago, it suddenly dawned on me that I had not seen the options for "avatar physics" in a very long time. It was all the rage in SecondLife about two (?) years ago.

Does anyone else remember "avatar physics", the thing that could make women's boobs bounce and both sexes asses jitter about 8 minutes 28,6 seconds after they had stopped dancing or walking?

"À chacun son goût!", I always say, but did even the most heterosexual man ever find that appealing I wonder.

Anyhow, what happened to it? Did it turn out to be one of those impasses in technical development that lead nowhere so that it was later scratched or is it somehow integrated into the viewer somewhere out of harms way so that the most ridiculous uses are prevented?

  1. I just love the physics if and only it they are set correctly! No over emphasized swinging or bouncing! That is no taste for realism!

Anyhoo, I normally turning 'avatar physics' to zero in preferences, because, guess what, it causes more lag! Like, what doesn't, right?

    1. As a very wise man, namely me, once stated "Lag is a state of mind, don't blame Linden lag for it!!"

Well, Spanky, these days I seem to hear that just about anything you do causes lag, so I don't usually believe them.

However, with regards to the bouncing boobies and jiggling asses and bellies I am prepared to take your word for it! ;)

  5. one good thing with mesh clothing is that you cant wear a physics layer with mesh...well you can but you for example boobs bounces out of the top/dress and it looks silly:) i still see avatars with horrible physics at some places. one wonders if they cant see it themselves cos i dont think anyone wants their boobs belly and butt to move THAT much :)

    1. Actually, my sweet Vamps, I don't know what to believe. I have become jaded as far as bad taste in SecondLife goes, even if it is usually men that are the culprits, straight men... mhmmmmmm. (A certain cat close to you not included.)
