Inventory Cleanup from Second Pride 2014

So Ebbe Linden (a.k.a. Ebbe Altberg, CEO of Linden Lab, The Makers of SecondLife) did not deign to respond to my tweets asking him to take some time to honor the largest LGBT event on the grid with a visit, nor did he pay us a visit (as far as I know).

For next years Pride I may choose to send him the invitation through bloggers and SLebrities Jo Yardley or Strawberry Singh, whose tweets he does seem to respond to.

However, as you see below we did get attention from at least two other first life celebrities from stage and screen, Conchita Wurst and Peggy Bundy!
Conchita Wurst (PuPi)
Peggy Bundy (B.J. Floyd)
On the last afternoon of Second Pride we also got to crown a King and Queen of Second Pride 2014 in a pageant arranged by Frolic Mills. I completely agree with the judges choices. The judges were, by the way, my hug-buddy Takuya Jinn - CEO/Chief Designer Gabriel, my dear old friend and hug-buddy Kharissa Indigo - Board Member of Second Pride, the lover of my Jesters Hat and therefore close to my heart Hobbit Zenfold - MR. V♛ GERMANY 2014 and Frolic Mills - CEO Partyculars and founder/former CEO of BOSL and Miss Virtual World.

The winners if the pageant were Queen Locuala Madrugi and King jOrGe (a.k.a. Manito12). Below presented in their first and second outfits of the evening.

Although Frolic repeatedly made excuses for there only being three candidates in each category, I must honestly say I think it was quite enough. Two hours are a suitable time frame for these events, we lead busy lives with two of them to juggle.

In closing I would like to share this Bitstrip my other half posted on Facebook today.
Bitstrip comic on Facebook by Tomais Ashdene
We had a wonderful Pride celebration in SecondLife this year.

My sincerest gratitude to all of the board members,
this was the best Second Pride evvvahhhhhhhh!

In my opinion Second Pride 2014 had a King and a Queen that did not take part in the pageant. The two are King Petr, "The reluctant chairman", and Queen Khar, "The old trusted hand who stepped in and saved the day"

In gratitude for their services and together with the rest of the board I hereby declare them to be honorary citizens of Southern Charm, with those citizenship's granted to them they are of course all now also royalty with princely titles.

The Queen & King of Second Pride Pageant

Who can participate?:
Anyone in the avatar form of your preference. We are celebrating diversity! However, you may only apply for either Queen or King, not both.

What to do for the Grand Finale on June 29th at 10:00 AM SLT (this applies to both Queen and King):

You will style two outfits:
  1. Be inspired by anything that is great, which well represents why the LGBT community should be proud. You may decide to be inspired by Oscar Wilde, or perhaps a fashion designer or a movie star, or a LGBT activist from anywhere around the world. Make us proud!
  2. Dress yourself as you believe the Queen or King of Second Pride should look like. Be original, be bold, be flamboyant and be fab!
How to participate:
  1. Write a first notecard labeled: "I want to be Queen - YOUR NAME" or "I want to be King - YOUR NAME"
  2. Include a full perm photo of your full avatar, and a short explanation of why you could well represent the LGBT Community.
  3. Drop that notecard on Frolic Mills' profile in-world.
  1. Write a second notecard labeled "Why I am proud - YOUR NAME"
  2. Include a short statement about who or what you got inspired by for your first styling
  3. Drop that notecard on Frolic Mills' profile in-world

Miss Wigstock 2013 - The Fabulous Event

As a veteran in SecondLife I know that some events you go to an hour before they start if you want to get in at all. The annual Miss Wigstock contest at Gay Riviera is one of those events.

So I was ready to go at 11 AM SLT while Butchella DeVille, mon compagnon à la fête, was still sauntering around in some stunning casual attire. I admonished her strongly and told her that I would go ahead and she should call out when she was ready.

As I arrived at the Theater on the Hill at Gay Riviera I saw all the green dots indicating other clever avatars who had learned their lesson. Luckily Butchella is a fast dresser for a gay man. She actually does it in half-speed compared to the tempo in which she runs her mouth but it was fast enough and we squeezed her big ass in before the sim was full.

I was heading for a humble seat among the dazzling glitterati of the SLebrities that had assembled at the theater this evening, but Butchella called me back and told me she had found two empty seats suitable for us.
It was in the royal box no less. I told her that OK we could sit there for a while but we should expect to be ousted from the best seats in the house when the top brass arrived.

As I had seen on the mini-map the beautiful theater was already filled with the most dazzling, studly and fabulous avatars.
...but I and Butchella had the best seats in the place in the place, in the two center seats of the royal box. To my right was a sweet but silent man named Rob Colter and to Butchella´s left was the famous Hotboy Lockjaw.
Butchella and I settled in our chairs fit for queens and started to relax and feel cosy and happy to have arrived in time and gotten such splendid seats, with a good view of the stage and all of the audience. Poor Rob almost had his view of the stage blocked by mt gown, but as I said he was sweet but silent so he never said a bad word about it, a real gentleman I am sure. Butchella told me we both looked too fabulous because we were almost  certain to outshine the contestants.
When Butchella said that I just had to show her how stylish we looked with our feet sticking through the floor.
We started looking around to see who was there and here are some SLebrities we spotted.
Eddi Haskell, (blogger, photographer, fashion guru and all round good guy)
with his alts partner Benja Aquila (blogger and a very pleasant new friend).
Ricogenu with his partner Avacar, owners of Gay Fun World,
with a to me unknown beauty
Our hosts for the evening Mitch and Garth Underhill-Raleigh
Oppps, this is of me, Butchella and Hotboy again, but its
too much of a hassle  to rearrange so I will leave it here
Frolic Mills of BOSL
Ohiomike Lockjaw with Oliver Elton and Othon Weiland
MC Queen Edman, dressed in a tux for once, with the female MC,
whose name has unfortunately slipped my mind at the moment.
The Winner and Miss Wigstock 2013
Juve Wheelwright
First runner up,
Silvano Korobase
Jean Marc, which was the performer that I had as winner
Hotboy in his wonderful interpretation of
Lady Gaga´s "Born This Way"
After the prize ceremonies there was a dance. Butchella and I joined for a while but we soon realized it was close to midnight in Europe and we had to leave to crawl to bed. Happy after a fabulous and magical evening.

C O L O R S at KMADD

Soon after I had logged inworld I got a notice in the KMADD Group about a fashion show. I haven´t been to one of these events for a very long time, so I thought to myself "Hell, why not?" and off I went.

The lag was of course atrocious in the beginning, but once they had restarted the sim things got much better. When I got back to the show I grabbed the first empty seat I saw hoping that no one was already sitting there.

As it turned out I ended up besides this very interesting looking man, who´s name was Dark Hennesy.

Following my usual urge, I checked out his profile and realized he was a part of the DeeTaleZ (SLurl) fashion company and actually partnered to that company´s owner and designer Steffi Villota. No wonder he looked so interesting.

Suddenly someone sat down on my right and I knew his name already, it was Frolic Mills of The Best of Second Life (BOSL).

So here we are sitting all lined up and hobnobbing, Frolic of BOSL, Bock of BMcM and Darki of DeeTaleZ. I am sure the other two had never heard of or seen me before, although I have seen Frolic around SecondLife several times earlier.

Da guyz, fashionistas
The show began with a few words from the MAD in KMADD, Maddox DuPont, who welcomed us and told us about the various designers in the evenings show. His whole style for the evening was well suited to the name of the show.

I will start by showing you the male looks, I got most of them on camera (except the last one due to a crash). The comments under each picture are my immediate thoughts when I saw the models.
Good only for a sports themed party
Oh well....ok...I guess...
Seen it before
Beautiful (This is the men´s look I liked best)
Ughhhh! Yikes! You cannot be serious? Imaginative and the blue is nice.
Yawnnn!
I totally hated the boots and the visor
All in all not too bad, but I must admit that I am still not particularly thrilled by mesh-details in men´s fashion.

As I have probably told you before, but I much prefer clothing that adapts to the body instead of the other way around. I also like it when clothes flow like natural material (cloth, leather etc.) instead of appearing like one is wearing armored plate as a gladiator or a knight in medieval times.

Now for the women´s looks. As usual these were more imaginative, creative, funny and beautiful.
Beautiful
Nice colors but whats new?
Fun - but still hate the Trekkie visor
Woohoo - this and one of my jester hats, perfect!
Very classy! My favorite in the women´s looks.
Huh, nice red but then what...?
Nice but old
