Joseph Nussbaum - SP Festival Photography

Joseph Nussbaum, one of the absolute best photographers in SecondLife, has been taking pictures at the Second Pride Festival this year, and turning them into pure works of art. The photos are posted to Joseph's timeline on Facebook, but so far I have not been able to find them anywhere else.

Here are but a few of my present favorites.

"I Want to Marry a Lighthouse Keeper"

Yesterday Tomais told me we were going to take part in the shooting of a video by JN Studios (Joseph Nussbaum's film company). To prepare me for the part we had to get me a raincoat, a rain hat and some boots at Deco.

Besides Joe, Tomais and myself the other three lighthouse keepers were played by Boris Twist, Sabor Skytower and Holter Rez.

Here is the final result of our fun and frolicking, Josephs video "I Want to Marry a Lighthouse Keeper". And if you are wondering why we turned into frogs at the end, please don't ask me. Perhaps it was "just because we could" and we all had the outfits and it was hilariously funny.

Don't forget to like the video at YouTube after you have watched it!

"Ben in Farmland: An Homage to Tom"

Benjamin Glendale was kind enough to send me this press release for his upcoming exhibition.

"Commencing from May 18th 12 noon SLT at Gallery Assis is hosting Benjamin Glendale's new collection of images "Ben in Farmland: An Homage to Tom".

A long time resident of Second Life, Benjamin is rediscovering exploration in Second Life and taking snaps of his adventures, primarily for his own enjoyment but also to be shared with others. Ben doesn't confine himself to one form of image over another, he takes photographs of people and/or places, landscapes or buildings, as inspired by his surroundings and the events taking place.

The collection at Gallery Assis is entitled "Ben in Farmland: An Homage to Tom". Comprising five pictures, it hopes to capture the spirit of Tom of Finland imagery. All in a monochromatic retro style, it features scenes of overt masculinity, fun and plain hot sexiness, as it shows Ben's adventures working the farm and the men he meets there. Thanks go to the guys who own and run The Stud Farm, which was used as location for the images.

The exhibition (...) exhibits together with new collections by Erik Bayn and Joseph Nussbaum. To launch the event there is a 1950's party at the Gallery, hosted by gallery owner Eli Wallace (dress code Jailhouse Rock - 1950s)."

The Gospel According to Luke, ver 2.0

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark (den danske folkekirke) has made a charming and humorous video showing how the gospel according to Luke most likely would have unfolded if Mary and Joseph had lived in our present age.

The video starts with the virgin Mary receiving an email from the Archangel Gabriel when she logs into her Gmail. The email informs her that it may seem crazy but she is actually going to give birth to the son of God. She sends a text message to Joseph the carpenter, "I have received a strange email. Call me."

Joseph makes a status update on Facebook that Mary is pregnant. When someone says they did not know he was going to be a father, he reveals that the child is not his but the son of God to which he receives amazed and a sarcastic comments from his friends. Some even go so far as to dissolve their friendships with him.

Meanwhile the emperor Augustus sets up an event on Facebook: "Census".

Joseph starts to to plan the journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem using the online travel service Rejseplanen.dk, and checks the box for "roman free route". He also uses Hotels.com to check for lodgings in Bethlehem for a few nights. The only vacancy that appears is in a stable.

When the child is born Joseph makes a status update declaring that "It´s a boy!", he then receives greetings from the grandparents and others concerned and loads of likes

The story then goes on with the three wise men connecting and searching for gifts and travel routes to Bethlehem on the Internet and so on.
