The Swedish Invasion Adhoc Reunion

Yesterday evening I got a surprising teleport offer from Ambrooshia. The surprise was that she more or less left SecondLife a couple of years ago and has only been back at infrequent intervals.

Well, as my hubby wasn't online yet and I had nothing better to do, I took the teleport and landed in a gathering of avatars from the period of the big Swedish SL-Invasion in the spring of 2007.

At that time there was an article in the largest Swedish news paper about SecondLife and the Swedish Institute had decided to open a virtual Swedish Embassy in SecondLife that was going to be inaugurated by the Swedish foreign minister at the time, Carl Bildt.

Those of the avatars that don't still regularly come into SecondLife seemed to decide on coming back for regular reunions every Monday at 21.00 C.E.T. (i.e 9 PM C.E.T. or 12 PM SLT)

A Unilateral Action

Today I have been in SecondLife 2,667 days or, expressed in another way, 7 years 2 months and 18 days.

I would like to think that I have friendly relations with most of the people I have encountered during those many years, some are still close, others I meet sporadically but for various reasons our paths have mostly parted, some have more or less or altogether left SecondLife and some I don't have contact with even if they are still around. But those that we are friends with or have amicable relations with are never the problem, are they?

The relationships that drain my energy, and that I have been thinking much about the last two weeks, are the failed ones. Those relationships that have to some degree turned into open or concealed enmity. I find that it weighs down on me and makes me weary to keep track of the perceived wrongdoings and insults. It has also to some degree turned into an unwanted bitterness on my part that I do not at all care for.

So today I am going to clean the slate by unilaterally forgiving those I feel have wronged me - or someone I love - intentionally or through carelessness, so that I thereby in time can forget the perceived insults and abuses. I am also asking those whom I know feel that I have wronged them for forgiveness. I am going to unblock all those that have previously been blocked from Instant Messaging me in-world or from entering my home sim or on social media sites.

I know that this action will most likely be labeled as "drama" by some, but I don't care one iota because I am doing it for my own sake not anyone else's. My forgiveness is in no manner dependent on the their willingness to forgive me.

As I do not believe a sweeping apology is enough I am going to name each and every one of those I believe deserve my forgiveness and whose forgiveness I need for my words and actions in the past. I will not go into my reasons for feeling hurt by those named, except in one particular case.

I forgive you, Ars Northmead, for dying and leaving me alone and heartbroken for such a long time. I also ask your forgiveness for resenting you for something you could not help. You know I love you, babe, and I know you loved me. Forgiving you was and is always easy.

I forgive you, Andrey Messmer (a. k. a. D R E Y Messmer), and ask for your forgiveness.

I forgive you, Martial Eisenhart, and ask for your forgiveness.

I forgive you, Butch Horton, and ask for your forgiveness.

I forgive you, Vanadis Falconer, and ask for your forgiveness.

I forgive you, Sjöfn Stoneshield, and ask for your forgiveness.

I forgive you, Kynlif Leikfang, and ask for your forgiveness.

I forgive you, Loo Berensohn, and ask for your forgiveness.

I forgive you, PetGirl Bergman (a.k.a. Tina Dahl), and ask for your forgiveness.

I forgive you, Alessia Kranfel (a.k.a. Vesper Kling and Mera Kranfel) and ask for your forgiveness.

Lastly I forgive myself.

The deed is done and now the rest of my life can start afresh. It is a big relief!

A part of SecondLife reality. The green blob is someone on my blocklist,
most likely one of "the four in one" shieldmaidens because I cannot remember
anyone else in the Scandinavian community that I could have blocked

"Over the Rainbow"

The American mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato sings "Over the Rainbow" at BBC's "Last Night of the Proms 2013".

From the WXQR Blog: "Last Night of the Proms Tinged With Themes of Equality" by Brian Wise

"DiDonato has long been identified with the song popularized by Judy Garland, but this will be the first time she has sung it in public since Russia passed anti-gay legislation earlier this year. Writing on her blog, DiDonato said:
'We programmed ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ ages ago, but as the Russian law came into focus and I felt this impending sense of dread wash over me, I knew that I simply had to personally dedicate my performance on Saturday to all of those brave, valorous gay and lesbian souls whose voices are currently being silenced – either by family, friends, or by their government.'
Acknowledging that the Proms has strict rules against political messages, DiDonato said she will not speak from the stage, however.

"It’s not as if she’s doing it in Russia, where the problem is," noted Morrison. "The UK is a pretty tolerant place for gays and everyone else. I think she’s using the global televised audience for this event to make a point. That's fair enough."

---
I would like to thank Loan (Loo Berensohn) deeply for her kindness in bringing this performance to my attention. I have never in my life heard the song sung better and the hairs of my whole body stood in salute at the end. This is magnificent and totally incredible!

Learning (More) English

"The curmudgeon" - Photography by Jill Greenberg
I stumbled over a word I had never encountered before in a comment on Joe.My.God. today.

Curmudgeon, cur·mudg·eon [ker-muhj-uhn]
noun
a bad-tempered, difficult, cantankerous person.

It is going to be my new favorite word for a while, so some of you better get used to it because I will probably use it all the time.

"Millimina dear, what the fuck happened? You are such a curmudgeon today!"

"Put a sock in it, PetGirl, you are being a f***king curmudgeon!"

"Apmel, buddy, go jump in the lake and simmer down. you are such a curmudgeon!"

"Loo, were you born a curmudgeon or did someone drop you on your head early in life?"

"Don´t be a curmudgeon, Ziggy, it doesn't make you look better!"

New In-World Freebie

"There is no such thing as a free lunch" it is said, but that is not entirely true.

In the last few weeks I have been given two unasked for diagnosesis of my psychological health by some very generous residents of SecondLife.

The last one was provided by Ms. Loo Berensohn. (Her first name is a not uncommon abbreviated form of the name "Louise" in Swedish and actually has nothing to do with restrooms or crazy people despite any similarity in spelling.)

Ms. Loo Berensohn, who otherwise is best known in-world for her prowess as a witch-hunter where she has shown great tenacity and fortitude over the past two years, has now seen fit to give me an analysis on her blog. It was rather amusing, contrary to her purposes I am sure.

Although her qualifications for making any such psychological assessments is unknown to me, I am sure she in the generosity of her heart, would also be willing to supply everyone who asks with a psychological profile free of charge.

It may not be worth much, but it is at least free!

P.S. Yes, this may be vengeful but anyway I do not hate her. Oh, I forgot, she has this terrible habit... of writing in incomplete sentences... with three dots... probably thinks it´s cute... or something...who knows?

Good Advice for Kids and Others

Eric Herman tells the kids, and those of us a bit older, how to handle bad situations!

I remember seeing some "Drama spray" in my Inventory, perhaps I should start sending it out to those who need it badly!

Hilarious

I haven't had so much fun for a long time as when I read another Scandinavian blog this morning.

The poor blogger had somehow read herself into my post about multiple Lucia pageants in SecondLife and felt maltreated.

All I can say is that I didn´t give that particular blogger a single thought yesterday when I was writing the post, except to get the picture to illustrate the Second Norway pageant.

That only goes to show, if you have a bad conscience about something you are not an objective reader and read yourself into stuff you are not involved in.

I must say I really, really love the picture she found to illustrate her post with though (I am reusing it here), but she has always been great at that too.

P.S. To my joy I have noticed that the blogs I was referring to in yesterdays post, have today acknowledged the fact that there is another Lucia pageant in their posts although they still carefully avoid to mention it is on the Embassy.

Let me just state that the fact that a few of you have a very strained relationship with the caretaker on the Embassy sims, Ms PetGirl Bergman, should not refrain you from mentioning the Embassy or the Embassy pageant. Ms. Bergman has a very small role in the pageant this year and all the rest of us walking in the pageant still have - to the best of my knowledge - friendly relations with all the rest of you.

Dungeons & Dragons at OrmDricka

Well tonight I was in a spectacular mood, I had had my talk with my brother Martial and all was well in the world again, so when I say that OrmDricka was going to have a Dungeons & Dragons theme I went out shopping.

Amazingly enough - for me - I knew exactly what I wanted. I had seen it before on my meanderings through the best stores in Second Life. And there it was waiting for me at "Fallen Gods". I hesitated between an Orc and a Flowery Fairie, but as I was so happy and feeling great I went for the fairie - in green to boot, following my sons advice it was best to "stick out of the crowd".

When I first got there everyone was wondering why i came as "The Incredible Hulk" but once I rezzed there was no more of that foolishness, until a new guest arrived and asked the same question... ;P

DJ Frost had the first part of the event and he played us some great tunes. The OD-crew was as always headed by Vampi and with sirhc and Svessa at the poles. As always they kept the guests in a good and humourous mood.

I even got the chance to bathe and dance in the champagne for ionce, it´s usually already taken when I get to the parties at OrmDricka. I felt the small bubbles tinkeling on my soft skin and into all my crevices mmmmmmmm...

DJ Lucien played for us at the second part of the event, as always we were thrilled by the rtunes he was spinning for us

At the end of my stay there we were joined by some nice people from Second Norway. Mialinn Telling as always looked hot. Loo Berensohn had found a funny outfit that looked like a cockroach. That gave their naughty companion Arcadia an idea, and she started to call me "Bockroach" haha...but by then it was time for me to leave anyhow.

Nakna avatarer i SL 77

Yes, you are still welcome to send your contributions to me either inworld or to my mail lundamats@gmail.com

I SL-bloggosfären idag
