I Blame Kip!

So, this evening I was innocently going about my business in SL, whilst my - otherwise - sweet husband was browsing on Facebook. There he saw a suggestion from Kip Ashbourne which he thought was completely appropriate for me. I am not sure I agree...
OK, so I have a phobia against chickens, but should my husband really send me "Crazy Chickens" from Marketplace, or as he himself claims "Delightful items like this" (a dead rubber chicken).

Sansar Beta Opens to the Public

Today I was told that Sansar had been opened for the general inquisitive public, so I of course had to try it out.

I managed to successfully create an account and then logged in. I took a long while until everything was in place and I found myself standing on top of people three-deep. More than I had gotten the idea to try it out it would seem.
Bock at the Zen Garden in Sansar
One important thing to remember is that this game is primarily intended for those with an Occulus setup. They get more information on the screen and can do things you cannot do without the Occulus. I couldn't do mush once I was logged in and had managed to extricate myself from the others enough so I could move around. There was a great deal of lag too,

I could talk, but I couldn't see the names of anyone of those around me so I didn't know if I knew then. At another place ("experience") named 114 (something) created by Draxtor, I listened in to a conversation between a Linden representative and a woman and as far as I understand the launch of the beta had been successful with only a few minor glitches.

As far as I understand there are - at least as yet - no intention of connecting the two worlds, except possibly through Marketplace. So two worlds, two accounts.

Later I was contacted by a friendly guy named Colt, who said he recognized my name from SecondLife. So we had a nice chat. After a while I felt really tired of being back to 2007 and feeling like a noob - although I can see there is a great potential - so I logged. We'll see how much and how often I visit again, maybe this is something directed mainly at the very young gamers. I am not a gamer, I am a venerable, old, resident.

Should I Be Honored or Insulted?

I was alerted that some jerk is selling the Flat Bock 2017 on Marketplace for the ridiculous price of L$5. It's true value is of course immensely higher!

If you really want it, you can get it for free from me. Just send me a note card, as my IM's get capped.

I don't think the creator of the item, my art director and husband Tomais, will bother making a DMCA notification, but who knows,,.

Update
I have been informed that the object is no longer for sale, someone obviously felt it might be wrong to sell copies of what they had gotten for free. My belief in humanity is somewhat restored.

Butter Butts, Bento Balls & Mesh Heads

I would like to thank my friend and co-blogger Rusty Redfield for the tip concerning the butt enhancers for the Niramyth mesh body.

I hadn't heard about it before, but it really does have a certain something - je ne sais quoi - about it.

The next thing I would like to introduce to you are the new Bento Balls - or ball sack rather - that are compatible with the Aeros cock "Magnus". They jiggle, wiggle, swing from side to side and roll-about. They are really exciting to watch, although I have decided not to get them for myself.

A very nifty detail is that you don't have to tint the balls at all, they automatically take on the color you already have on your Magnus cock. (Doesn't work on other cocks from Aeros, not yet.)

Booty Galore

SecondLife capitalism at it's best can easily be seen by scrutinizing what's being sold at the SL Marketplace.

Of course one could discuss if it's in good taste, but as already the old romans said, "De gustibus non est disputandum", the implication being that everyone's personal preferences are merely subjective opinions that cannot be right or wrong, so they should never be argued about.

I hear that straight men, according to themselves can be divided into "boobmen" or "assmen" depending on which of the body parts that gives the biggest thrills.

So this delicious booty is sold at the Marketplace for L$49.
I asked Tomais if I should get it, but he told me "Your booty doesn't need any enhancement, babe", which kinda made me very happy.

Pride 2015 - Day 1

And we are off to a great start, the festival has kicked-off!

Yesterday I saw a pair of emerald shorts in my timeline on F*c*book that I simply had to have, they are so beautiful and only L$150. However, on Marketplace I saw that they were intended for the Niramyth mesh body so I put them out of my mind... for like 45 seconds. Then I went ahead and bought them anyway, but they didn't fit quite right with my regular body shape...

"Dammit!", I thought and proceeded to purchase the Niramyth body for something like L$2 766 just to get the shorts to fit properly. The rest of the evening - until the opening parties started - I had a team of helpers consisting of my hubby Tomais, my bro JJ Goodman and my friend Divos Titanium, for a short while we even recruited Stäväros Ğrăçємσûηт, trying to help me tint the damn body to suit my skin. After a while I got a new - more tanned - skin from Belleza (L$1 000) and a beard from EddiDesign (L$350) just to look somewhat presentable.

Well I was finally very happy in my beautiful shorts for only L$150, but to tired to take any pictures from the opening events, so I will direct you to some of my friends blogs instead.

Overpriced?

Tomais and I were out looking for a new Christmas tree to put up at the sim over by Ars' memorial. On Marketplace we came across this one, in several versions.
Description
"Typical German Christbaum or Weihnachtsbaum

this is the perfect Xmas tree, because...

* the tree has 120 giftboxes underneath
* in every single ornaments you can see the reflection of a candle
* high detailed candles
* high detailed ornaments
* detailed bells
* the tree has a high detailed string of pearls around the tree
* the has a high detailed decoration on the top
* the tree has a fantastic magical light effect at daytime and night
* the tree has a very detailed texture from a real christmas tree

* the tree is level of detail optimized, when you go far away then you see allways for example every candle

* the width of the tree is 40x40m with the snow underground
* the high is 23 m"

---
It is indeed a beautiful work of art and highly detailed and must have taken many, many hours to complete, but all the same I do think that the price of L$40.000 is a bit steep...

I am quite certain that if the creator had priced it better he would most likely have made more money from his work.

Let's say 100 copies of the trees are sold at the current price, that would mean an income of L$4.000.000, but if the price had been set to L$5.000 they would most likely sell many more copies - I am guessing 1.000 - and would earn an income of L$5.000.000.

But pricing is difficult and what do I really know about it... my amazing Jester's Hats were only sold in 10 copies for L$10 a piece. The market was not ready for them... and perhaps never will be.

Pet Peeve: Tummy Talkers

I absolutely detest it when people spam public chat with their emoting tummy talkers. It's highly annoying to be exposed to someones belly yackety-yaking continuously.

I am not in the least interested in being exposed to a trivial conversation going on between the pregnant mother and the loud infant. Please, leave me out of your role play. If I should wish to take part in it I'll let you know. Don't call me, I'll call you if I ever get crazy enough.

I am considering getting this very special tummy talker to use the next time I am subjected to one of these infuriating things. I found it at Marketplace TBF Talking Pregnant Belly for only L$10.

Judging by the reviews,  it should succeed in getting the point across to even the most simpleminded expecting avatar.

P.S. Even more suitable for me would be if someone should make a "butt talker" or a "penis talker" that filled the public chat with a lot of inane conversation.

"Bock's Butt: I hope this meeting is not going to last much longer, I really need to s**t"  or "Bock's Penis: Why do you always insist on crossing your legs like this? You know perfectly well that it crushes the nuts and is uncomfortable for the shlong also!"

SP 2014 Fashion Statement

Well, who would've thought it, but it seems that my Jesters Hat (originally created in 2010) finally is having it's breakthrough to a wider range of people than myself.
Blog: NakedCarl
The hat was for a while sold on Marketplace with the slogan "Only for the most daring of fashionistas", if I remember correctly the demand was not tremendous. I think I sold only eight of them, whereof two to kind family members. People are not as fashion-forward as one sometimes would have reason to expect.

At Pride I am giving away (free/gratis/at no cost whatsoever) an especially for Second Pride 2014 hand-crafted exclusive edition at my storefront.

Come and pick up your item and flaunt your Pride and exquisite taste at  The Bock in SecondLife Store @ Second Pride East (SLurl).

The Natural Born Aviator

When I was a little child I always dreamed of becoming a pilot. Later, I was informed by older friends and a few well-meaning but cruel adults that I did not have what it takes because of my impaired vision. Nevertheless I kept the dream alive deep within until I was an adolescent, always hoping that some cure or a visual aid would be found that meant I could fulfill the dream.

Finally I accepted my fate and got rid of the dream and lost all interest for flying and airplanes, still knowing that I would have been a wonderful pilot if I had been given the chance. Well, that chance came along yesterday even if it was "only" in SecondLife.
As most of you know by now, my husband Tomais is nuts with every kind of vehicle in existence in-world. He - I have no doubts - owns at least one copy of anything and everything that can be flown, sailed, steered, paddled, rolled or driven in-world.
When I bought a helicopter on a hunch a few weeks back, he told me that that particular model was extremely difficult to start flying with so I should start with a Seakite seaplane (url to Marketplace) instead. The Seakite can carry four passengers and has an option to share controls with a co-pilot.

We tried it out the day before yesterday, with Tomais as pilot and me as co-pilot. Tomais showed me the things I needed to think about when flying the aircraft and handed over the controls to me. It was exhilarating and thrilling to know that I was actually flying the plane myself, even if Tomais was there to keep us safe.
Yesterday we tried again, this time with me alone as the pilot. It was amazing and all went extremely well. I was of course, just as I have known all along, a natural born aviator.
As I was too busy with flying the aircraft and to excited about it to think of anything else, all the above photos are taken by my royal consort, Mr. Tomais Ashdene Esq.

Later on we went for a spin in one of Tomais fighter planes, which is of course much more advanced and faster. After having piloted an aircraft myself I could understand what was happening better and could also relax from my own adventurous experience.

Ballooning at the Blake Sea (Updated with SLurl)

The invention of the GPS (Global Positioning System) and its adaptation and application for civilian use have improved my quality of life with at least 5%. It has saved me countless of hours of being lost and searching for the correct direction to go and of making excuses for being late.

I actually like getting lost sometimes, because then I get to go places and meet people I wouldn't have encountered otherwise, but most of the time I simply want to get from point A to point B as fast and easily as possible. Of course I have used written directions earlier and sometimes even maps, but it is so much easier to find your way with a GPS.

My lacking of sense of direction has undoubtedly stopped me from certain activities in first life, and perhaps even in SecondLife.
After the party at Whim - Part Deux yesterday evening Tomais suggested that we and Guyke should go ballooning. I was a little hesitant, but allowed myself to go along with the idea. Afterall "Home" is only a teleport away in SecondLife.

First we went to buy some amazing balloons. They were sold for L$10 and parachutes for L$0 by a fabulous creator who had left SecondLife after being dejected and upset by some changes Linden Lab had made to Marketplace. You can get the balloon and parachute here Abbotts Aeronautics (SLurl).

We promptly unpacked the balloons and Tomais took us to a location at the Blake Sea to start our adventure. First we simply had to - of course -texturize our balloons, which was easy with the beautiful textures that Tomais provided and a texture-HUD. (In the middle of the trip I felt adventurous enough to change my balloons texture to the McMillan tartan and Guyke changed textures too, which is why you see our balloons with different textures in the pictures.) That being done, we were ready for take off.
Tomais was an excellent instructor and was completely calm the whole time, although he himself crashed and had to relog in the middle of it all. He found us easily and hitched a ride on my balloon for the remainder of the trip. I felt very safe with his voice in my ears telling us how to maneuver the vessels, what speed and height to set and which direction to fly.
A cute ass I happened to see over the sea
Ah, I knew I recognized it!
We had a fantastic time up there in the air, but at some point we would have to land and I was a little worried about that part. What if I made a total fool of myself and landed us in the middle of the sea? Tomais shared some misadventures that had occurred the first times he had tried it, no doubt to take away some of our worries of feeling like fools.
Le Petit Prince
I needn't have worried though, because I did a perfect landing on the small island that Tomais had chosen, well apart from dunking the two of us in water briefly before hitting the designated landing spot dead-center. I was jubilant and elated over my fantastic achievement, Guyke was thrilled too because he also had a safe landing, but not as wonderful as mine. (I will never confess to Guyke, but between us I believe I had some really good beginners luck going for me there.)

My New Snow HUD

OK I got this amazing thing, now all I have to do is to try to convince some genius and humble builder to help me set it up on Southern Charm. Oh, I should ask Dej if he wants some snow too.

Get it at Marketplace, Falling Snow System from Studio Skye. I think I got the winter terrain textures also, but I am not sure right now...

For the first time ever winter will be coming to Southern Charm this year!

"You Can Call Me Cupid!"

I celebrated Saint Patrick's Day at the Gay Archipelago yesterday.

My mood was excellent and I had bought a stunning new suit, fitting for the occasion, at Marketplace. The suit was a statement in itself which shouted to the world that here comes a fashion forward man with great confidence in himself and his impeccable taste. It was therefore rather disappointing to notice that my finery blended in beautifully with the unfortunate choice of carpeting for the venue.

Being me, I did not let this little adversity spoil my fun in the least.

I was accompanied to the party by my friend Butch Diavolo. The man had an excellent time mocking my wonderful outfit.

Within fifteen seconds of our arrival at the venue the impetuous man was nagging me to animate him. When I had fulfilled his wishes and turned my attention to the assembled guests, I soon noticed that he suddenly stopped dancing with me and was not dancing beside me anymore.

After looking around for him I saw that he had thrown himself at poor innocent Judas/Atreyu/Craig and was now dancing couples dances with the young man instead. Please notice where the eager young man has placed his large hand... even if it can hardly be noticed on Butch's huge ass which is as wide as a barn door.

I said to Butch, "Here I bring you to a dance and you dump me in the middle of the dance floor for a hormone-fueled young lad, whom you met little more than a fortnight ago?" Butch answered me in his usual sullen way, "I have known Judas a long time, I only re-met him at Garth's and Mitch's wedding."

Lately I have become aware of that my mere presence somewhere seems to be a catalyst for budding romantic entanglements around me. I informed Butch about this phenomenon and told him "You can call me Cupid!". He simply snorted at my profound insight.

As the two men started to draw the whole venues attention to themselves in the most scandalous way (they should really have gotten a room) I called in the cavalry in the shapes of first the sweet Ziggy and, a short while later, my son Guyke.

Although Guyke had to leave shortly afterwards, it was good to see him again as he has been away in first life. Ziggy has also been busy with his first life so it was good to get a few dances with him and catch up before I had to leave for my beauty sleep.

Happy 8th Rezday, SecondLife!

Today June 23rd, 2011, SecondLife will officially be eight years old. Would you believe it?

This wonderful world of ours is only eight years old and the celebrations have already started and will be going on the whole week. For more information on what is happening please go to the SL8B-site.

I would like to congratulate Linden Lab and all who work there - and have worked there - since the start until now.

Happy Eighth Rezday, SecondLife!

I love you guys, all of you - with the possible exception of M Linden and the guy that I have blocked out from my memory who messed up my "not so flourishing" business on XStreet (these days better known as Marketplace).

I would also like to convey my gratitude to all Lindens and Ontynes - and whatever other surnames you may have - from the Chairman of the board over Customer Services to the errand boy on the third floor of the offices.

Special thanks with kisses and hugs go to my own very special Lindens,
Philip Linden - the man who shared his dream of another world with us and the sexiest Chairman of the board in both the first and second world,
Rodvik Linden - the man who will move us into the future safely and with awareness of that SecondLife is not just another game but a community and the coolest CEO known to man (even if he needs help in answering messages),
Alexa Linden - for her great kindness and good sense of humor and also for taking good care of a dear friend whom I alas usually only meet once a year,
Belinda Linden - for being warm, caring, competent and supportive towards a crazy Swede with legal problems,
Keira Linden -  for being kind, sweet, efficient and supportive in solving the crazy Swede´s technical problems and last, but in no way least,
Gareth Ontyne - for being calm, polite and efficient although the crazy Swede did not appreciate it at the time (Sorry Gareth!)
