The Memorial of NakedCarl Paneer

"Let anyone who says anything negative about Second Life be answered with "Yes, but you did not know NakedCarl Paneer." And may all of us hope that all virtual world's in the future be fortunate enough to have their own NakedCarl to let sunlight shine in all parts of the electronic universe." More Sad News

I hadn't been on Facebook for a couple of days and when I logged in today there were two sad messages waiting, from Asta and Ezzie, both informing me that Carl Paneer - in SecondLife better known as NakedCarl - had passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018.
"NakedCarl" by Carl Paneer himself
In first life, Carl leaves behind a big family with a daughter, four sons and tons of grandchildren. By his side was also his best friend, the mother of his children.

Carl was a friend of mine and a fellow blogger. We used to join forces during the Second Pride festival each year. He was always more ambitious than I and tried his best to cover every event, I was more laid-back and covered the events I wanted to visit.

We were not close friends, but we had a good friendly relationship. Carl was a sweet soul who - although a bit quiet - always seemed to overflow with kindness and good humor towards everyone who came in contact with him.

I will always remember Carl with great fondness, and I will miss him very much.

Rest in the peace of the Universe, Carl.

Second Pride Festival Pictures?

Do you want to see pictures from the ongoing Second Pride Festival and possibly share your own? Here are some tips of where you can find them and post your own.
Photo by J.J. Goodman of a probably angelic, certainly
innocent and possibly virtuous party goer of unknown identity
  1. There is a group on Flickr named Second Pride - Celebrate Diversity where you can see other peoples pictures from the ongoing festival and share your own photos, snaps and pictures. Just join the group!
  2. Also, my dear friend and co-blogger Carl Gee, a.k.a. NakedCarl, is doing his usual thing and is live-blogging from the festival, see his pictures on his blog NakedCarl - Second Life Photographer.
  3. There is also the Second Pride website, under 2017 Pictures.
I am not listing Facebook, because all of those enjoy that website.

Should you know of any more places where one can see pictures from the ongoing festival, please give me the link in the comments and I will add them to the list.

NakedCarl Turns Middle-Aged

My dear friend and blogging buddy Carl Paneer, best known as Naked Carl, turns six years old in SecondLife today. (Which as you certainly know means he will henceforth be considered as a ripe middle-aged gentleman.)

Carl is celebrating this special event with a party this evening at 10PM SLT at a secret venue (SLurl to the party venue will be provided on Carl's blog at 09.30PM SLT. Click this link)

Clothing is - as one could guess - optional and DJ Ez will supply the musical entertainment.

Unfortunately I will not be able to take part in the celebration as it starts at an ungodly hour for a late-sleeper like myself.

I wish you a very happy rezday, my dear buddy, and hope you have a wonderful party!

P.S. I have sent you a gift from Marketplace, it is called Darius and is of course mesh. It is something every naked man and male avatar needs.

The thing is sometimes hard and at other times soft, sometimes wet and at other times dry, it comes in all colors and shapes, lengths, girths and sizes and you can even change all of it yourself, well in SecondLife you can. I hope you enjoy it!

As we cannot have the most famous nude man of SecondLife running around with a mismatched cock, the gift also includes thirty (30) minutes of quality tinting by the Master of Cock-Tinting in SecondLife, my husband Tomais Ashdene.

Bock Parties at Pride

My buddy Carl Paneer, SecondLife blogger and photographer, for many know better as Naked Carl with blog "NakedCarl" is doing his usual extensive coverage of the Second Pride Festival. During Pride my days haven't really started until I have seen what Carl has posted from the parties.

Carl captured me at a party today in all my pride regalia, including my Jester's Hat in Multicolor Rhinestone by BMcM™ (which is my freebie for the festival this year and can be acquired at my booth) and a special Pride tutu. To my immense pleasure he has today also animated some of his pictures into gifs, among them one of me partying.

I am sure you can all appreciate how my spectacular hat follows and enhances all my movements. That is truly a masterpiece of imagination and creativity. It is of course also a much coveted accessory for all the true and daring fashionistas in SecondLife.

A Daring Fashionista (Updated)

I don't know this beautiful young man, but I must admit that I love him already! Update: I have since posting learned that the brave young man is none other than Mr Dozer G. Dragoone.

Look at his style, grace and exquisite taste, the strong and vibrant energy he exudes with his attitude of "Fuck you, I know I am beautiful!". He must truly be one of that rare breed, a true fashionista. Not one to follow the flock and bold enough to make his own statement.

As you may - or perhaps maybe not - notice the stunning and bold young man is sporting "The Jesters Hat in Multicolored Rhinestone" from BMcM™ (a part of the BMcM™ Corporation), this year's gift at the Bock in SecondLife booth at the Second Pride Festival.

Pride 2015 - Day 1

And we are off to a great start, the festival has kicked-off!

Yesterday I saw a pair of emerald shorts in my timeline on F*c*book that I simply had to have, they are so beautiful and only L$150. However, on Marketplace I saw that they were intended for the Niramyth mesh body so I put them out of my mind... for like 45 seconds. Then I went ahead and bought them anyway, but they didn't fit quite right with my regular body shape...

"Dammit!", I thought and proceeded to purchase the Niramyth body for something like L$2 766 just to get the shorts to fit properly. The rest of the evening - until the opening parties started - I had a team of helpers consisting of my hubby Tomais, my bro JJ Goodman and my friend Divos Titanium, for a short while we even recruited Stäväros Ğrăçємσûηт, trying to help me tint the damn body to suit my skin. After a while I got a new - more tanned - skin from Belleza (L$1 000) and a beard from EddiDesign (L$350) just to look somewhat presentable.

Well I was finally very happy in my beautiful shorts for only L$150, but to tired to take any pictures from the opening events, so I will direct you to some of my friends blogs instead.

Zeus - The Grand Re-Opening

Yesterday was the grand re-opening of the Zeus Gay Club and O.M.G. what an opening it was! Everyone was there at some point during the festivities.
L to R: Pook Cypher, my Tomais, J.J. Goodman. me and Rylan Sirnah
The owner Michelangelo Vilota and the rest of the extremely large Vilota family and Zeus crew took the opportunity to show off all the beautiful and scenic new venues that had been created by the talented architect and builder Fran Ghoststar, a.k.a. Arteo.

I was too lazy to take pictures, except for the one above, but my friends and co-bloggers Carl Paneer and Rusty Redfield were more active and can offer you many more pictures the parties. Head on over to Carl's blog NakedCarl: Zeus Grand Re-opening and Rusty's blog Playing with the Big Boys: 079: The re-opening party for the Zeus Gay Club.

My Parade Blunder

Remember how I have been going on about how much I have missed the opening parades at Second Pride? And how happy I was when I learned that we would have one at this years Second Pride?

Well, I managed to botch up my participation by going for a short nap four hours before the parade was going to start and then sleeping for five hours. This despite having set several wake-up calls both on my landline telephone and my cellphone, all for safety's sake as I could not imagine I would sleep that long.

Luckily my family members (hubby Tomais, son Guyke and son-in-law Garrett) were at the right place in the right time and could represent the McMillan colors.

According to the reports I have received from the Opening Parade it was a tremendous success, with more than 180 avatars taking part or watching from the adjacent sim. There were only a few problems, which were to be expected considering the amount of avatars there. I am so upset with myself for missing it.

Well, when I finally did wake up I logged in as fast as I could to calm my worried family and could get a feel of the parade anyhow as it runs 24/7 (except the short while the sim is restarted everyday). I went a little crazy and tried out many of the floats, as documented below by blogging buddies Jeff Ellsworth and Carl Paneer and my Tomais.

SP 2014 Fashion Statement

Well, who would've thought it, but it seems that my Jesters Hat (originally created in 2010) finally is having it's breakthrough to a wider range of people than myself.
Blog: NakedCarl
The hat was for a while sold on Marketplace with the slogan "Only for the most daring of fashionistas", if I remember correctly the demand was not tremendous. I think I sold only eight of them, whereof two to kind family members. People are not as fashion-forward as one sometimes would have reason to expect.

At Pride I am giving away (free/gratis/at no cost whatsoever) an especially for Second Pride 2014 hand-crafted exclusive edition at my storefront.

Come and pick up your item and flaunt your Pride and exquisite taste at  The Bock in SecondLife Store @ Second Pride East (SLurl).

My Fastest Kiss

I was sitting with Lee McKay today, trying to see the fashion show. When the show was over a man came over and said hi to Lee and then gave him a hug, which I thought was pretty sweet. The man was Cody Bolero.

Cody then said "Hi! handsome" to me and told me he wanted to give me a hug for coming to the show. I answered that he was still blurry and grey to me, but that I was guessing he looked gorgeous. I also told him I would gladly hug him. (As those who know me well are aware, I never ever turn down a hug.) So I got on my feet and accepted the animation he sent me.

To my big surprise the animation turned out to be a deep kiss, which almost knocked me off my feet and out of my socks. This was the fastest kissing session I have ever had with a stranger.

Cody laughed at me and told me "That was so worth it!", I laughed back a bit shyly and told him he had taken me so off guard that I hadn't even thought of taking a picture. (I think I may have said this in the hope that he would offer to repeat it...)

Cody then went on to invite me to the Boystown Party. I hadn't planned on going, as it was held rather late in my timezone, but how could I turn this guy down so I told him I would come. The man came into my life as a tornado, within 45 seconds of meeting we had kissed and become friends.

I must say that I was relieved to see in his profile (which I of course immediately checked) that he was partnered), otherwise I do not know what would or could have happened.

When I saw Cody later at the party he finally rezzed to me and this is what I saw. Terribly cute isn't he?
Cody Bolero
We didn't have much of a chance to talk at the party as Cody seemed to be hosting it. But that was no problem for me because there were lots of others I knew at the party. Carl says on his blog, Naked Carl, Second Pride The Boystown Party, that there at one point were over 100 avatars at the party. No wonder we all saw grey people.

It was lucky for me that Cody was one of the few that rezzed completely for me, otherwise I would still have been wondering what he looked like, which would have given me a sleepless night.

The Trannies Rebel at SP2012 (Updated)

UPDATE: Police have now identified one of the ringleaders of the riots as being
Mr. Kip Ashbourne (21), a respected resident of SecondLife but now also a fashion icon.

Yesterday we had the reenactment and celebration of the trannies at Stonewall Inn standing up against harassment and telling the police that "enough is enough is enough", of course I missed it all when I crashed and my camera went on a strike.

A Cane Received, Five Thrown

When I checked my e-mail today, I noticed a message from SecondLife that my bosom buddy Apmel Goosson had dropped a note card on me bewilderingly entitled "A cane".

To still my curiosity about what this was about I immediately logged into SecondLife to check what this was about. The note card didn't say much, only that Apmel had thrown a cane at me and that I should check a certain post on his blog, My Avatar´s Name Is Apmel; "Q&A plus cane throwing".

There I found these instructions on cane throwing.

"Throwing a cane means: someone (a blog owner) asks you five questions and you have to ask five questions to another blogger. It is a pyramid scheme but nevertheless some fun. So I will post the rules and then select some other bloggers. The rules:

  1. Set a link to the blogger who has given you the cane..
  2. Answer the questions.
  3. Then throw the cane on five other bloggers.
  4. Tell these persons that they have received a cane.
  5. Ask five new questions."

Sounds simple enough, huh, so why not take part? OK, here goes. The first rule is already covered above, so on to the second, the questions Apmel asks me and my responses to them.

1. A blog usually is a factual report (albeit subjective) about real life. A blog about an avatar is a
factual report about a fictional life. Your thoughts about that?

I may be missing the point here, but I actually don´t see a conflict. On my blog I recount what I experience in both my realities and both are factual to me. My personality, thoughts, feelings actions and reactions are the same in both worlds. Only the superficial things are different, not the important ones, not the things that really matter to me.

2. Do you think of yourself as an immersionalist or an augmentalist Second Lifer?
"The difference in mindset between the two groups reflects the titles they're given: Immersionalists primarily see SL as an entire virtual reality, and enjoy doing the broad range of activities there that they also enjoy in RL (including shopping, sports, relationships and sex, artistic creation, tourism, vacationing and more); while Augmentalists primarily see SL as a next-generation platform for communication, and are there primarily to enhance a particular interest they already have in RL (such as marketing, architecture, filmmaking, music, artistic distribution and more)."
From the blog "In the Grid" by Jason Pettus, 2006
I am most definitely an Immersionalist. I am in SecondLife to meet R-E-A-L people and interact and engage with them.

3. Do you have more than one avatar? If so why and are they of different gender and/or species?

Yes I have ten alts  - Wild Zepp, Callum Beamish, Hedda Millar, Matt Gaboian, Ian Pomfret, Seamus Lycheborne, Angus Maldor, Duncan Aycliffe, Dan Zise and Minerva Xenno (in order of their creation). All of them are human and two of them are women, Hedda and Minerva .

I created my first alt Wild after a big row with Ars on the same day as he was going to do an important set. I did not want to miss that set but as I did not want to cave in at once Wild came to my rescue - sort of. I could catch Ars set and then make up with him the next day and not while I was still furious with him. I also told Ars that I had been there, he said he already knew because I had dressed Wild in a kilt.

Then I joined a silly in-world game called Tiny Empires (url), in that game you needed to gather subjects, so I used Wild as one and then created Callum and Hedda. The rest of them were created when Bara Jonson took part in a contest where every avatar could only vote once a day, I cheated and voted for him 11 times a day.

The alts are now entirely used for Tiny Empires and are mostly only online when I am taking my naps to gather gold.

4. Do you think you will still be in SL a year from now? If not why?

Hell yeah, I will be here til they shut down the last server at Linden Lab, standing side-by-side with Philip Linden and the rest of the aficionados.

5. What is the ratio of the time you spend on blogging contra being active in world? How has it changed over the last year?

It depends on my mood, whats on my mind and whats happening in my first or second life, but roughly I would say I am in-world about two times longer than I blog, so 66-33.
---

I will now throw my canes at - and I agree with Apmel this is the most difficult part - but here goes. My selection was limited to blogs that deal with SecondLife and are mostly in English-

Now I must hurry to throw the canes at them, but I will post this before doing that!

My questions are:

1. How long have you been in SecondLife and why did you join?

2. It is sometimes said that there is a problem with "the threshold" in SecondLife, meaning that it is difficult for new users to learn. What are your thoughts on this?

3. What do you wish for most in the future development of SecondLife?

4. What is the most important thing you have learned about yourself in SecondLife?

5. Why do you blog?

All the pictures of the canes were found at Wayfair - Shop Harvy (url).

My friend and co-blogger Eddi Haskell just posted a video on his blog "Eddi Haskell´s Second Life" in it you can see NakedCarl, Jeff Ellsworth, Eddi and myself ("The Four Bloggers") moving our asses to music to satisfy the crowds.

Be among the first in the world to see it, go there NOW!
