Happy New Year 2020

I wish all my readers, friends and family a happy and prosperous and wonderful new year! May all your dreams, hopes and wishes come true, or at least the most important ones.

Although I have not made a new year's resolution this year, I will share a few of my most important wishes for the year.

With all my being I hope that we - through the results of the presidential election this year - will finally have a world free of Donald J. Trump (and any of his progeny and allies) as president of the United States of America.

It is also my hope that the Russian Federation will be freed of the tyrannical and imperialistic influences of Vladimir I. Putin and his cohort of survivors of the Sovjet days.

Finally, I hope that the murderous Bashar al-Assad and his willing accomplices will be removed from power in the Syrian Arab Republic. If he should die, I will not grieve him.

Happy New Year 2017

I wish all my readers a very happy new year!

May all our altruistic hopes for a better, safer and more accepting world come true, despite worrying signs of growing bigotry, confrontation and discord.

BiSL Joins "War on Christmas"

Yesterday the Editor-in-Chief of Bock in SecondLife, the Much Honored Bock McMillan, laird of Southern Charm*, and his royal consort Tomais Ashdene, duke of Erat, sent out their seasonal greetings to family, friends and acquaintances.

The greeting on the card is also a proud political statement in which they declare their position in what Faux News (a.k.a. Fox News of America) has dubbed "The War on Christmas".

---

This year's card was photographed by Tomais Ashdene, with Bock McMillan ordering about and giving unhelpful advice and suggestions which was for the most part patiently and wisely ignored by the photographer.

*) For a full and correct list of the lairds present titles please see this post.

The Peril of Staying Away

"Don't have a cow, man" by Dejerrity Mycron

Before I logged off from my SecondLife last night, we (Dej, Tomais & I) decided to pull a prank on Pook Cypher for staying away from us too long.

So we planted a somewhat inebriated cow in-front of Pook's front porch. The poor thing had obviously been partying too much...

The first thing I saw in my email this morning was these offline messages:
[1:43] Dejerrity Mycron: Oh God Pook just logged in
[1:43] Dejerrity Mycron: Say nothing, act casual...

Tomais & I Celebrate Our 1st Anniversary

Shortly after the stroke of midnight (CET) my Tomais and I returned to Southern Charm to celebrate our first wedding (elopement) anniversary.

We danced together in The Aviary and invited my brother Dej to join us there. However, Dej told us he couldn't dance tonight because he was "wearing the wrong underwear", so he sat down to chaperon us instead.  (Let's see if you can figure out that comment.)

This would be a great opportunity to thank my husband for a wonderful year and tell him how happy I am that we have decided to continue together indefinitely.

I love you very much, my darling!

A Better Place

(via J.M.G.)

The Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield published this video a few days ago with the following clip description: "Our world is not as bad a place as we often feel it to be. It is easy to look to the future and lament how far there is left to go, but sometimes it is helpful to stop and reflect on just how far we've come. This New Years, my resolution is to help make our world a better place. What's yours?"

It's encouraging to know that there are good things happening in the world too. My New Years resolution will be the same as Chris's, although it may be on a much smaller scale.

A Wonderful Beginning

The wonderful Tomais has completely swept me off my feet since he has come into my life. For a short while I have been contemplating whether I should propose to him or not, as my dear readers know I sometimes have  an issue with procrastination. This time I was not as slow as usual to make up my mind though.

Once I had decided on what I wanted and how to proceed, I discussed it with my son Guyke and my brother Dej, separately,  yesterday afternoon. I am happy to report that they were both enthusiastic and supportive of my decision.

During the New Years Eve evening yesterday I was thinking of how, when and where to actually go through with the proposal. If I should do it immediately or wait a little while longer - just to be completely sure... (Tendency to procrastinate remember?)

After the New Year had started in Sweden I just got so fed up with myself I knew I did not want to and could not wait any longer. it had to be now. I asked Tomais if we could take a break in our party-hopping and go somewhere to talk alone for awhile. Once we had landed at the terrace of Tomais home, I plunged into the proposal without further ado.

I cannot remember the words anymore as I was terribly nervous but I know that I told Tomais how much I loved, adored, admired and lusted for him and how much I wanted and needed him to be a part of my life.

I am certain I was rambling a lot but Tomais listened patiently and when I was finally done there was a short pause. It felt like a long time, but was probably no more than a few seconds. And he said "Yes!".

Glory halleluja, I felt my nervousness leave my body as happiness overflowed me and filled my body and soul. My soul was soaring around the skies and my feet hardly touched the ground the rest of the evening.

Thank you my sweet, darling Tomais, for making this one of the happiest days in my life!

Happy New Year!

At the end of last year I expressed some hopes for 2013 in this post My Hopes for 2013. With only one more day left it is now high time to evaluate the outcome.

I expressed my hopes in the following categories Universal, Global, SecondLife, Metaversal and Personal.

Fulfilled hopes
1. As far as I know the universe as we know it still exists, so thats a check for the Universal hope..
9. SecondLife is still improving technically, little by little.
13. Bock in SecondLife is still here and thriving, the Metaversal hope is thus accomplished.
14-16a and 17. All of the Personal hopes are on track, except for the 16b. I haven't had sex in first life yet, but it will come, it will come...

Unfulfilled hopes
2-8 (all the Global hopes).
10-12. Most of the SecondLife hopes.

---

I will abstain from expressing any hopes for 2014, however, I would like to wish all my readers a wonderful 2014 with lots of interesting and exciting moments that we can share together!

Happy New Year, my dear family, friends and readers!

The picture was made by my SecondLife lover and boyfriend, the amazing and wonderful Tomais, SL photographer extraordinaire. Love you so much babe, thank you for being a part of my 2014!

Seasonal Chores

The time has come to prepare for the traditional - well for those of us belonging to the Western European and Judeo-Christian culture - seasonal celebrations. As an atheist Swede, who was  born into our secular lutheran church, I am of course referring to Christmas and New Year.

For Ars, as for many other Americans, decorating - or even over-decorating - for the any of the holidays was a cherished obligation. He used to go completely bonkers and we had colored lights, poinsettias, christmas trees etc, etc, all over the place. I am more low-key, much more.

One of the things I do like to do however is sending out greetings to friends and family, even those I haven't been in touch with for months or even years. I still love them and think of them its just complacency, life and other obligations that has caused a - temporary - breach in the daily or at least regular contact.

Another thing I like is having a get-together before people get immersed in their first life families and obligations. This year I had delegated to - or rather pressured - Millimina and Guyke to handle the party, alas they could not get their scheduled synchronized so the party will have to be in the New Year instead, which is fine by me too because a party when people get back to SecondLife is just as good.

Well, to come to the point, yesterday I went to Calas Galadhon (I always go there) to take pictures for my card. I had a great time with myself and the camera in the Firestorm viewer.

May all our hopes and wishes be fulfilled and may harm stay out of our way. I hope to see you all next year. Together we will make this the best year ever!

Happy Holidays 2011

I thought I had better get this in before you all start leaving for where ever you are going for the holidays!

This year I made two picks and could not decide which I preferred, so I sent out both but only one per person. Here you can see the one you did not get. Now isn't that a good present?
Have a wonderful Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa all of you and hopefully a great new amazing, fantastic, dazzling New Year also. Come back to SecondLife with a fresh new and relaxed view on us and our world!

I am going to spend Christmas Eve at my parents home together with my older sister and her husband but without any of the grandchildren or great grandchildren. I am looking forward to a nice, noise free and relaxed evening with lots of good food and drink followed by a nice walk home to sober up - if I don´t decide on a cab and can get one.

Hugs and kisses all around! And remember, be careful out there, first live is known to be dangerous.

Happy New Year

I wish you all a wonderful 2011, but remember this is just really another day in the rest of your life.

There is actually nothing magical or mysterious about January 1st at 12:00 AM. It´s a special day only for the nations using the Gregorian calendar. The fact of the matter is that other cultures and religions have their New Year celebrations and ceremonies spread out almost all through the calendar-year.

We are free to choose any given moment to make resolutions for improvement or to take steps to change our lives to the better. As the commercials say "Just do it!".

May you be safe, free, happy and loved!

New Year´s Resolution

Well it´s the end of 2010, high time to start thinking about my new year´s resolution.

What possible commitment can I make on reforming any habit or to an advantageous lifestyle change?

I smoke, but I am sure as hell not quitting that, at least not on New Years Day or the 5th of January. That will come when I am ready - someday. I love my job and my colleagues, so I a sticking with that too. But I could get more organized I suppose, both in my real life and in SecondLife. I could also try to get less irritated and grumpy, but thats just me being me and is sort of cute, or so my mother says because she knows it never really lasts that long.

OK, I will stick to the getting more organized I guess...

I hereby vow to get better organized in my real life, as a blogger and in my SecondLife. This commitment goes into effect on New Year´s day 2011.

Real life messes, this is the last warning! If you don´t go away when I look at you and think about you I´ll start spending an hour everyday to get rid of you.

SecondLife Inventory, I am not allowing you to grow anymore. You are going into boxes and folders or getting deleted. All the old dead landmarks, all the ugly stuff I never wear, all the shit I am carrying around without even knowing I have it,  out you go!
