WOW! Paradise Lost in Second Life

My son Guyke gave Tomais and me an extremely early wedding anniversary present by inviting us to join him for the last performance of the Basilique Performing Arts Company in Second Life's production of John Milton's "Paradise Lost".

I took loads of pictures of this original, unique, sensational and totally amazing experience to the wonderful music of Mozart, but do not have time at the moment to blog them. Instead I will only give you a few pictures before and after the show.

Stay tuned for more pictures this coming weekend.

I give this production the score: ★ ★ ★ ★
I and Guyke ready to teleport to the venue
Waiting in line for the ban lines to be removed
Inside the venue, waiting for the performance to begin
Tomais and I saying good night after the show
Thank you so much for this wonderful present, Guykechen!

Drew Bartscher - Hero & Straight Ally

GayStarNews reports:
"It was a regular Saturday night out for Drew Bartscher and his friends until he ended up with a black eye.
The 27-year-old was waiting for his two friends outside Wiley's Tavern in downtown Sioux Falls in South Dakota at around 2am when he heard a woman use a derogatory term for homosexuals.
'I hear a woman regard – make a comment to her boyfriend. Uh, along the lines of, "These F-ing F-words,"' Bartscher told the media."

Hanging with LP & Guyke

Tomais was away in first life on family business on Saturday so I hung out with my son and his beau LP.

Besides talking and getting to know one another, Guyke and I taught LP how to say Guyke's name correctly [gheee-caa], which rhymes with the Spanish word for girl "chica".

I also entered LP into "The Laird's School of Animation", the class of Hugging.101. I am still hopeful that he will ultimately be successful.
I - and later LP and Guyke - then went on to the Holtwaye Gallery event. As I was entering the venue JJ took the picture below. That man is really fast and an excellent photographer, who always manages to make me look great.

A Satyr in A Forrest of Phallii

On Friday I visited the ongoing Fantasy Gay Pride (SLurl). As a gay man I have to "dress appropriately for every occasion ", to quote my husband Tomais, so I went as a shamanic satyr. (For those of you who don't know "satyr" is correctly pronounced "say-ter".)

First I jumped right into a concert by Lisa Nichols (née Brune). I hadn't heard Lisa sing for many years and she was still as good as I remembered, so that was a joyful start to my visit.
After that I stumbled across the entrance to the "Phallice in Wonderland"-attraction and gave it a shot.

It was fun to try to figure out how to follow in the footsteps of Alice, but I got stuck at the Cheshire cat, so after that I just enjoyed the environs.
