Live & Learn - Juneteenth

The American president recently announced that he was going to hold his first rally after Covid-19 hit. The rally was announced to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on June 19^th.

June 19^th is known as Juneteenth Day and celebrated as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Cel-Liberation Day because, on that day in1865, the Emancipation Proclamation (whereby all previous slaves were freed) was read to newly freed African Americans in Texas.

The problem is that Tulsa is most widely known for the 1921 Tulsa race massacre, (url to Wikipedia article) were 39 confirmed (75–300 estimated by a 2001 commission) were killed and more than 800 were injured.

Some people see the choice of date in combination with the place as a deliberate provocation.

I had never heard of Juneteenth before and now I also understand the uproar about choosing Tulsa.

Happy New Year 2020

I wish all my readers, friends and family a happy and prosperous and wonderful new year! May all your dreams, hopes and wishes come true, or at least the most important ones.

Although I have not made a new year's resolution this year, I will share a few of my most important wishes for the year.

With all my being I hope that we - through the results of the presidential election this year - will finally have a world free of Donald J. Trump (and any of his progeny and allies) as president of the United States of America.

It is also my hope that the Russian Federation will be freed of the tyrannical and imperialistic influences of Vladimir I. Putin and his cohort of survivors of the Sovjet days.

Finally, I hope that the murderous Bashar al-Assad and his willing accomplices will be removed from power in the Syrian Arab Republic. If he should die, I will not grieve him.

The Torturing Dog

Today it came to my attention that I have been nourishing a torturer.

I woke up this morning with a really bad nightmare where I thought I was fending off kisses from the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States of America - the two men I detest most in the world (Not having met or knowing all men - yet.).

As I discovered when I woke up it was my dog Bilbo sticking his tongue under my upper lip and dragging it all the way to the other side of the mouth and then repeating it fast and furiously. The movement continued despite me trying to turn my head away. I was in a real panic when I finally woke up and discovered what was going on.

The whole awful experience reminded me of a time when I kissed a guy in Gothenburg, he apparently was well known and much loved for his oversized tongue. Well, I can tell you that I did not enjoy being kissed by him. He stuck his exceptionally long tongue all the way in and then started whisking it about furiously as is if there was a motor on it. The only thing stimulated by this was my vomit reflex.

Love Made in SecondLife

Draxtor Despres and SecondLife have a series of documentaries (five so far, but more to come) running on YouTube about how people meet and fall in love in SecondLife and carry that love over into first life.

Imagine being 71 y.o. living comfortably in the USA and then packing everything up to move to the UK after meeting the love of your life in SecondLife. Well, they had known each other for over ten years in SecondLife so it wasn't as if they were strangers.

Second Pride Festival 2019 - Call For Entertainers

This year the 15th annual Second Pride Festival will take place between June 14th - 23rd, 2019.

We are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Riots at Stonewall Inn (url), New York, N.Y., U.S.A, claimed to be the start of the Gay Liberation Movement.

A Major Clusterfuck

It's both frightening and tragicomical to follow the total and complete disaster that the selection of a new associate justice to the Supreme Court of the United States has become.

Despite the fact that this is one of the most important positions in the U.S.A and a lifetime appointment, it seems not to have been properly prepared as one would expect of such a longterm and crucial engagement.

If I was hiring (and I have been in that position several times), I wouldn't give the man a temporary job cleaning restrooms or flipping burgers, let alone a lifetime position as a judge.

That decision would be based solely on the man's performance during the "job interview" and have nothing to do with his alleged sexual assaults or lies. I simply wouldn't want the hassle of working together with - and wouldn't trust a person - who displayed such unhinged anger and rudeness and on top of that spouted weird conspiracy theories.

I am amazed that the nomination hasn't been recalled already or the man convinced to withdraw his candidacy, for the country's sake and the man's. I cannot believe there aren't several equally qualified conservative judges with a more judicial temperament to select from.

Ms. Stormy Daniels is an American woman mostly known for receiving USD130.000 to keep quiet about having an extramarital affair with Donald J Trump, who later went on to become the president of the United States. Ms. Daniels also works in the porn-industry as an actress, screenwriter, and director.

According to an article at www.guardian.com, Ms. Daniels in an upcoming tell-all book on her brief affair with President Trump describes his penis as “smaller than average” but “not freakishly small”.

“He knows he has an unusual penis,” Daniels writes. “It has a huge mushroom head. Like a toadstool …  I lay there, annoyed that I was getting fucked by a guy with Yeti pubes and a dick like the mushroom character in Mario Kart ... Talking about someones private parts reminds me of a story told in my hometown (Lund, Sweden) about an old woman who for decades sold herring at Saint Martin's market. She was known to be very blunt and rather uncouth.

One time, the story goes, there was a young woman at her fish-stall who took an inordinately long time trying to decide which herrings to buy and kept touching the products. Finally, the old fishwife couldn't keep her temper any longer and burst out, "Herrings are not like dicks, they don't grow when you fondle them!"

Second Most Sexiest Man Alive?

So I have been watching the Congressional hearing of FBI agent Peter Strzok.

I must honestly say, that after watching his clashes with representatives Trey Gowdy and chairman Bob Goodlatte, his bated and controlled anger made me hot and bothered and moist in my underwear. 'Tis a pity the man is straight.

Agent Strzok must be a pride and joy to 70% of the American people, and I don't give a damn about whatever foolishness he texted (taken out of context) that was totally irrelevant to his fulfilment of his duties.

(The sexiest man alive is of course Tomais Ashdene, the lairds consort.

G7 Summit

Mhmmmm my dear friend Angela posted picture this on her official Instagram yesterday. Which is in itself an example of when a picture tells us more than a thousand words.

The Guardian informs us:

"Donald Trump has left the G7 network of global cooperation in disarray after he pulled the US out of a previously agreed summit communique (my embolding), blaming the Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau whom he derided as “dishonest and weak”.

The US president, who arrived at the summit in Canada late and left early to fly to Singapore to prepare for his summit with Kim Jong-un, shocked fellow leaders with a bellicose press conference on Saturday in which he attacked the trade policies of other countries."

PARIS (Reuters) - France and Europe are maintaining their support for the Group of Seven communique and anyone departing from the commitments made at the summit would be showing their “incoherence and inconsistency”, a French presidency official told Reuters.

The official was reacting after U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement on Saturday that he was backing out of the G7 communique drawn up at a summit in Canada.

“International cooperation cannot depend on being angry and on sound bites. Let’s be serious,” the official, speaking on condition of anonymity, added.

SCOOP: Trump Proposes Another Border Wall

The editor at large of this blog has learned - from usually well informed and trustworthy sources - that president Donald J. Trump, in talks with family and his closest co-workers, has been proposing the constructing of yet another border wall, this time at the border between the United States and Canada.

Trump is supposed to have told his confidants:

"I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great great wall on our northern border and I’ll have Canada pay for that wall."

The news comes as no big surprise considering president Trump's fascination with border walls and after Canada (together with the European Union, Mexico and Southern Charm) was named as a threat to the national security of the United States.

If built this wall would be 8,891 km (5,525 mi) long.

On the Brink of A Global Trade War

The president of the United States of America, Donald J Trump, this morning announced that the European Union (amongst them the Kingdom of Southern Charm), Canada and Mexico would no longer be exempt from tariffs on imported steel (25%) and aluminum (10%).

The European Union, Canada and Mexico have retaliated with raising duties on imported American products. We are now at the brink of a trade war that can potentially have massive effects on the world's economy and could - if it continues to escalate - lead to a global financial crisis. 

Similar protectionist measures led to The Great Depression in the 1930's.

On Funerals

Today I am thinking about funerals.

This is because I read about Mrs. Barbara Bush's funeral today and how the current president Donald J Trump had been asked please not to attend which made me think about this quote from Yogi Berra*: "Always go to other people's funerals; otherwise, they won't go to yours." 

I hope there will be droves and droves of people at my funeral and that no one will have to be asked not to attend. There is nothing quite as sad as a funeral with very few people.

P.S. "Food, serve them good food and drink and they will come!", I thought. So now I am going to set aside a good sized amount in my will for food and alcohol for the funeral lunch.

This cute guy is Abel Azcona, a Spanish queer performance artist, who doesn't like Donald J Trump, president of the U.S.A., at all!

Recently Abel decide to show his dislike for the president in what has to be an extremely painful manner, by tattooing the words of the president’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again”, in a circle around his anus.

The tattooing of the phrase occurred in the Defibrillator Gallery in Chicago. Azcona told The Huffington Post that he considers the statement to be "a queer, political act".

The Much Honored Bock McMillan, laird of Southern Charm, prince of Cascade Falls etc., etc., today commented on the results of the Dutch elections.

"The people of the world, and especially Europe, should thank the Dutch voters for putting a stop to the growth of the Islamophobic and anti-EU populists. 

Hopefully the results of this election will break the onslaught of the growing populism in Europe, I even dare to wish that it may set a trend for the upcoming national elections in Germany and France. 

The Dutch example gives us all hope and shows the political leaders of Europe that it is possible to quell the rise of populism, even after Brexit and the American presidential election. Prachtig gedaan, Nederland!"

I found this quote by Jesse Klaver, leader of the GreenLeft party, that I cannot withhold from you. On polling day he said that the left’s answer to the far right’s rise in Europe was to stand up for its ideals. “What I would say to all my left wing friends in Europe: don’t try to fake the populace. I don't usually agree with Carl Bildt about anything at all, but this time his tweet captured the wonderment of all Swedes at what the American president had to say about whats been happening in our country recently.

Isn't it about time president Trump was assigned a few handlers who fact-checked his speeches, otherwise I think we may soon end up with a really big mess. Many things president Trump "believes" are true, simply aren't.
