A Fun Project

Yesterday I was part of a fun project in recreating The Village People's "YMCA" in SecondLife in both a photograph and a video.

Notre-Dame de Paris

Yesterday evening we got the devastating news that the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France, was aflame. The fire was initially so ferocious and violent that it was feared that the cathedral would burn down completely.

Today we received the sad news that the spire and the oak roof had collapsed, but also the wonderful news that both towers were safe, the structure of the building undamaged and the rosetta windows still intact. All the treasures and artifacts had been removed safely and the copper statues that were normally a part of the collapsed spire had been removed a week prior. It seems the stone ceiling of the cathedral prevented burning timbers from falling into the cathedral. The heroic efforts of the 400 firefighters had been successful.

Of course, the usual Islamophobic ghouls came out yesterday and declared that this was yet an example of Islamic terrorism in its war against Christianity. The cause of the fire is awaiting an inquest, but it is believed that it can be attributed to ongoing renovation work around the collapsed spire.

Two French billionaires have already announced plans to pledge a total of €300 million towards renovation and repairs.

The Notre-Dame is a unique treasure of immense cultural and historical value for Europe and the World.

Our Hero & The Dragon

Sometimes I feel like I want to burn the world down - at least on the inside, on the outside, I'm still the ever calm, patient and charming me.

The Hoard

When I logged in today I was feeling real blah and out of sorts, but then my wonderful husband Tomais asked me to model in my newly acquired dragon avatar from Prehistorica I agreed anyway.

It was a very fun photoshoot and my mood improved greatly. Thanks for that, my darling!

Second Pride Festival Pictures?

Do you want to see pictures from the ongoing Second Pride Festival and possibly share your own? Here are some tips of where you can find them and post your own.
Photo by J.J. Goodman of a probably angelic, certainly
innocent and possibly virtuous party goer of unknown identity
  1. There is a group on Flickr named Second Pride - Celebrate Diversity where you can see other peoples pictures from the ongoing festival and share your own photos, snaps and pictures. Just join the group!
  2. Also, my dear friend and co-blogger Carl Gee, a.k.a. NakedCarl, is doing his usual thing and is live-blogging from the festival, see his pictures on his blog NakedCarl - Second Life Photographer.
  3. There is also the Second Pride website, under 2017 Pictures.
I am not listing Facebook, because all of those enjoy that website.

Should you know of any more places where one can see pictures from the ongoing festival, please give me the link in the comments and I will add them to the list.

I'm Evil Too!

Just like dear, sweet, Myra Hindley in this iconic photo, I sometimes like to be evil.

Dear Myra showed her evilness by carrying out the five Moors Murders (July 1963 - October 1965) with her partner in crime Ian Brady.

I myself do it by writing posts on April Fools Day (yesterday) to try and trick you into believing a rather fantastic claim I made, which is of course a misuse of my credibility.

Sorry, but I am not at all sorry if I managed to trick you into believing it.

Remember to always beware on April Fools, we are all out to fool you.

Results of GA WinterFest 2014 Photo Contest

I have been remiss in my duties towards you, my few but dear readers, and have not reported the outcome of the GA WinterFest Photo Contest, SecondLife section.

There has been a lot going on in my SecondLife, but the delay could possibly also reflect my disagreement with the jury's choices. Below are the top three in the competition according to the jury's decision.

First Prize: 2500 L$

Second Prize: 1000 L$

Third Prize: 500 L$

Entries must be winter themed and must not include nudity.

Sponsored by the GA Winterfest and will be displayed on the Winterfest sim.

Entries will be judged by a panel of three judges.

  • Must be original work
  • Must be winter themed
  • Submit a maximum of two photographs, one per category, per avatar name
  • Photo-editing tools and techniques outside the viewer are allowed
  • No location, sim, or business can appear in the photograph
  • No text or logos can be added to photographs

All submissions must be sent to patrickdevonanderson by December 8th, 2014, included in a notecard with the full SL name of the submitter.

It may be a good idea to keep in mind that the Winterfest's main theme this year is "Gay Archipelago 2034", but that's just a thought, I really don't know more than the announcement says, which by the way was forwarded to me by my buddy Nikolai Warden.

Married Life

Being married agrees with me, except when my husband expects me to get up early in the mornings to fry his chicken wings for breakfast.
"Morning with the husband". Photography by Tomais Ashdene
I get to massage my husbands aching muscles when he has been out shoveling snow in first life.
We have fun with family and friends using every possible vehicle known to man.
Kayaking with Guyke
Hanging with Ziggy & Guyke at Ziggy's new home
Flying with Wayne (and Holter)
Sledding with Dej
Then we have those wonderful times when we are alone together, sometimes trying to make babies.

Boxing Day 2013

Noblesse oblige, so on boxing day it was time for the laird to go out and about on Southern Charm to - as tradition bids - meet and greet the hoi polloi, i.e the lowlier nobility inhabiting the home sim.

The journey is usually performed with me being drawn in the royal sleigh drawn by six white Ardennes stallions, but this year I wanted to show off my new studly boyfriend so I had Tomais pull me around the sim instead.
"Sleigh RidePhotography by Tomais Ashdene
It was a great success and the cheering of the crowds seemed never to cease. My people loved the man, for his good looks and charm and because they saw he makes me happy.

---
Enough with that fantasy about my noble lineage, which I mostly keep on with because it amuses me and annoys a few others (that I do not mind teasing as often as I am able).

Tom had seen this beautiful pose and it made him think of a picture (thats the way of the artists). I think he may have played a little with the pose I am on, but I am not at all sure.

Yesterday the brutish artist made me suffer for art and had me sitting out there in the cold for hours on end while he played about with lighting and Windlight settings. Although I am the most patient man in SecondLife, which Tom repeatedly told me yesterday, I would have been freezing my beautiful derriere off sitting there and listening to the artist mumbling to himself had it not been for my sweet brother Dej joining us on Skype for a while.

You can see more of Tomais' photography either on Flickr - Tomais Ashdene and also on his Tumblr page Photomonkey SL (NSFW). Enjoy!

Happy Rezday, Mr. Ashdene

Today is the fifth rezday of the stunning, amazing and delicious man Tomais Ashdene. Happy fifth rezday, Tomais!
"Lumber Camp" by Tomais Ashdene
I am happy that Tomais has reached the age when he can be trusted to be careful around sharp objects, especially when it comes to his more delicate body parts... It would be a pity indeed if "anything" happened to be chopped off by mistake during a photo shoot.

The Vernissage of "Art Erotic"

My friend Ewa Aska, formerly best known as the co-owner of the once famous Ice Hotel and as an actor in several plays and musicals in SecondLife among them the successful ABBA SWEDEN show, has now found a new furrow for her creativity as a photographer of erotic art.

Ewa's exhibition "Art Erotic" opened with a vernissage yesterday, As the chairman of the Bock McMillan Art Foundation (a part of the BMcM Corporation) I was naturally invited. Most notable - and noticeable - among the other guests was an apparition of my bosom-buddy Apmel Goosson, this time present as his alt Apmel Meerson.

Apmel was - in my humble opinion - the most erotic work of art in the room, especially since he had chosen to dance an extremely enticing and alluring dance and somehow seemed to work his way around me the whole evening. I claimed he was hitting on me, but he emphatically denied it. (You can read our conversation on this subject on his blog, the link is supplied at the end of this post.)
Apmel plays coy but I know what he is contemplating

Paola spots me but keep her distance, in the beginning...

Guyke comes to my rescue to save me from more sexual harassment by members of the audience
For more pictures from the vernissage and my hilarious conversation with Apmelito please visit "The models hide nothing, but what does Bock hide?"

If you wish to visit the exhibition it goes on through September 15, 2013, Landmark to the exhibition (SLurl)

Guyke Vanishes

SecondLife - or perhaps it is the viewers - sometimes play tricks on us. It is difficult to remember that everyone does not see the world as we see it and that we don't see what they are seeing.

On Sunday evening I way reminded of this when Butch, Guyke and I had gathered for a quiet talk before we went too our respective lonely first life beds.

We were all at Butch's place as he wanted to show us the new house he was building for himself and decided to go down to the water for a talk and watch the sunset. Butch had set up a place with two beanbags facing due west, so he and I sat in those and then Butch hauled out another beanbag for Guyke to sit on.

Below you see Guyke walking towards the beanbag to sit on it.
Once Guyke had sat down he completely disappeared from my sight (see the two pictures below)
I could still see Guyke talking in local chat though and when I told the other two they did not believe me, so I had to take the last picture above to prove it to them.

Then for some reason I opened my "People Nearby" (which Guyke insists on calling "radar") and on it i still saw Guyke's name appear but on a greater distance than he should be. So I clicked on his name in "People Nearby" and the camera zoomed over to him. He was far out in the water a couple of meters under the surface in the sit position he got from the beanbag animation. (See picture below). I had to pass that picture around to the guys also for them to believe me, the untrusting so-and-so's.
Well, after Guyke had stood up and then sat down on the beanbag again all was well and the viewer-drama was over! Everyone was once again showing up where we expected them to be.

We then went back to do what we had intended to do in the first place, and watched the amazing sunset while we had a leisurely talk about everything and nothing until it was time to go to bed.

Ziggy´s Pictures of Me Are Posted

Ziggy and I resting and talking after a good photo shoot
Ziggy is a perfect gentleman and a dedicated professional and he works damned fast. I thought I was safe for a few days but pictures from the photo shoot yesterday are already up on his blog "Ziggy On the Edge of Second Life".

If you should happen to see a little wood among all the trees my only excuses are that working with Ziggy is inspiring. He is very encouraging and supportive and was an absolutely perfect gentleman through it all.

To Ziggy´s pictures of Bock.

Hmmm I perhaps should warn you, You must be over 18 years old to look at them...
