"He's Older Than SecondLife Dinosaur Dung"

Today we celebrate an avatar who - if the suspicions of SecondLife archeologists are correct - is older than the dinosaur coprolite found on The Land of Rainbows sim.
Fossilized Kahvy-poop, exhibit 1
Fossilized Kahvy-poop, exhibit 2
According to emerging theories among the archeologists there was life in SecondLife even before our beloved Philip Linden set his dainty little feet in-world. Excavations at The Land of Rainbows sim have shown that there were indeed dinosaurs wandering that sim long before that day.

DNA-analysis of the dinosaur dung found has proven without any doubt that the coprolites have been deposited by none other than the avatar today known as Kahvy Smith (nee Sands). The theory is that Kahvy Smith shapeshifted from dino to human avatar on this day eleven years ago in order to survive the changing climates that were threatening the existence of the dinosaurs.

Happy eleventh human avatar rezday, Kahvy!

(Inquisitive minds may wonder how I know this much about Kahvy's background in SecondLife. Well, to be quite honest, I was there already when he emerged.)

Hip Hip Hooray, It's My 10th Rezday Today!

How time flies! It amazes me to think that today I am celebrating my tenth anniversary in our wonderful world of SecondLife.
Bock 2017 by Richard De Grataine Suoh
It's been a wonderful and amazing journey and I wouldn't wish to be without it. In those days we were born ugly and we stayed ugly. We duckwalked and had our clothes plastered to our bodies. Some days we would crash 45-50 times a day and still we would soldier on through those bad days and log right back in again. After each teleport you had to check yourself, so that you hadn't ended up with your shoe sunk into your ass or your hair stuck to your groin.

But we sure did have fun, even when we and watched the number of logged in residents getting close to first 5,000 holding our breath and waiting for SecondLife to crash. Then that number rose to 10,000, 20,000 until we no longer thought about it.
Bock 2007 by Bock McMillan
Life improved gradually - and at times very fast - but most of the time there was some improvement that gave us all hope and energy. Well except for under the reign of M Linden, those years were a total waste and we were all rather despondent until Philip Linden took the reins again. At the moment we are experiencing another golden age with great improvements under the benevolent rule of Ebbe Linden.

I am going to stick around for a couple of years more to see where this whole exciting adventure ends. It's going to be a thrill!

A Match Made In the SL-Heavens

Oh my, have I got news for you all! It is so exciting I can hardly contain myself, filled with jubilation and excitement as I am.

At the editorial meeting today I met with The Much Honored Bock McMillan, laird of Southern Charm etc, etc, at his mansion (a.k.a. "Gossip Central" due to the always well informed laird's highly dependable sources).

The laird had a particular bit of thrilling information to impart today, "directly from the two involved horses mouths" as he chose to phrase it.

Please sit down and breathe deeply three times before reading any further. This blog cannot be held accountable for any damages you may incur while reading this post!

OK, here goes!

His lairdship informed us that my Philip (a.k.a. Philip Linden in SecondLife or Philip Rosedale in first life) and my Ebbe (a.k.a. Ebbe Linden in SecondLife and Ebbe Altberg in first life) are romantically involved. So what we all thought was merely a bromance between our wonderful dreamer/creator and the best damned C.E.O. of Linden Labs we've ever had has evolved into a deep love between the two.

The guys have decided to move in together with both of their first life families as well. For that purpose a large mansion (sixteen bedrooms with ensuite baths) has been bought outside San Francisco for them and their families.

It is reported that both the wives and the families on either side get along famously with each other and are all for this somewhat unusual arrangement.

This is a marvelous - albeit unforeseen - development for SecondLife and all it's residents. Let us rejoice with the happy couple and their families!

SL12B Begins Today!

And right in the middle of the ongoing celebration of the 10th anniversary of Pride in SecondLife the community also gets to celebrate the 12th Birthday of our wonderful Second Life.
I will of course go to take a peek at this celebration also, if nothing else but to show my gratitude to my darling Philip Linden (a.k.a. Philip Rosedale) and his team of superbly clever, imaginative, skillful and loveable nerds, geeks and dorks, i.e. Linden Lab.

Thank you, for giving us this world to live in!

For more information about this event I direct you to my friend Ricco Saenz blog Second Sighting: Celebrating dreams at SL’s 12th Anniversary and of course the event website SL Community Celebration

A SLebrity Drops By

Yesterday evening, while I was taking selfies on how my eyes sink into my head when I am using poses, a male avatar dropped in almost right on top of me. Even without his name tag I would've recognized him at once, with all the brouhaha that has been going on about him the last couple of months in SecondLife.

"So, you motherfucking cocksucker, you finally deigned to pay me a visit after spending months on charming the asses off of Frau Jo Yardley and Miss Strawberry Singh and all those other important women in-world, huh? Now the time has come to charm the asses of a sweet and innocent gay man like me?", I said to him.

"Hahaha Bock, you fuckmented shitjizzle you! You know I love you and besides the ladies were nice and had important information to share, I know everything you have to say already because you have told me a thousand times the last seven years, even long before I accepted this job at Linden Lab."

"Well Ebbe, you could at least have told me you knew my Philip back then, I would only have asked to be introduced as one of his many loving residents."

"Don't be silly, Bock, you know exactly what would have happened if I had told you that or if I had introduced you to him. You would have gone all weak in the knees, start drooling and make his socks all wet while you lay drooling at his feet. Now come along, show me this beautiful sim of yours. I understand you have had it for a while."

As I took my old buddy on the long tour of Southern Charm and the buildings, we talked about everything that had happened to us since last we met and I told him the shortest version of my SecondLife.

While we were preparing to say good bye after an hour and a half, I remembered the most important thing and asked my friend for a picture for the blog. Being Ebbe he kindly acquiesced.
The Much Honored Bock McMillan, laird of Southern Charm etc. etc., and Ebbe Linden, CEO of Linden Lab
This post is also a reply to Elblin's challenge to me about using the words "fuckmented shitjizzle" in a sentence.

Maundy Thursday 2014

As an atheist and a secular Swede, I don't celebrate Easter in a religious way. Nevertheless I still enjoy eating our traditional Easter foods and - most of all - I love the mini-vacation all of us who do not work in emergency services or in the trade sector get.

I am off from work from today through Easter Monday, five whole glorious days, and am going to make the most of it by catching up with my sleep, essential household chores and blogging obligations. Among my blogger-duties the highest on my to-do-list is to watch the keynote speeches by Ebbe Linden and my Philip (i.e. our beloved creator Philip Rosedale) at the recent Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education (VWBPE) conference.

I started off slowly today by sleeping until ten, then having an extremely long breakfast, filing my taxes and paying the Swedish state SEK694 in back taxes.

Paying taxes is actually one of my favorite hobbies, as I still feel most of it goes to worthy causes such as caring for the young, the old and those less fortunate than I am. I much prefer paying taxes and let the state provide me with health care and security than paying exorbitant fees to a privately owned insurance company which will only try to find some loophole to squirm away from fulfilling their obligations toward me if and when I need it.

Have a wonderful Easter holiday everyone!

Mergers & Acquisitions (Updated)

"Linden Lab, the makers of SecondLife, announced today that it is in discussions with High Fidelity over merging the two companies and thus consolidating in anticipation of a future collaboration with or takeover bid from Facebook", the Financial Times reports, citing sources.

As Philip Rosedale, a.k.a. "our creator", Philip Linden or "my beloved Philip", has a major interest in both companies it is assumed that the discussions will go smoothly and a deal will be made before the end of the week.

According to the article  it is probable that Philip Rosedale will become the Chairman of the Board of the new company, while Ebbe Altman, a.k.a. Ebbe Linden, will remain as CEO.

More updates on this will be posted here, as soon as I learn more.

UPDATE April 2, 2014
This entire post is of course a fabrication, it was my attempt at trying to fool you on April Fools Day.

Eddi: "SecondLife Is Now Relevant Again"

My buddy Eddi Haskell, SecondLife blogger, photographer and techguru extraordinaire, has some interesting thoughts today on what yesterdays sensational news, that Facebook will be purchasing Oculus VR will mean for SecondLife.

Oculus VR are the developers of consumer-ready Oculus Rift, a 3 D headset for virtual reality applications.

To quote Mark ZuckerbergMobile is the platform of today, and now we’re also getting ready for the platforms of tomorrow. Oculus has the chance to create the most social platform ever, and change the way we work, play and communicate.

Read Eddi's interesting and compelling thoughts on this development Eddi & Ryce's Second Life: "Second Life Is Now Relevant Again..."

As I am afflicted with an almost complete one-sided blindness since childhood, this development will mean nothing to me (I remember the many times spent I spent in movie theaters or in front of television sets with green and red glasses and listening to the others ohhhhhing, ahhhhhhing and wowing), but the more fortunate of you will certainly get a kick out of this.

Goodbye Rodvik!

Yesterday the part of the metaverse which focuses on SecondLife exploded with the news that Rod Humble, formerly known also known as Rodvik Linden, is no longer CEO of Linden Lab (The Makers of SecondLife).

This change first became known through a private message Rod sent to blogger Jo Yardley (Jo Yardley's Second Life (url)) on Facebook yesterday, where he informed her that he had "left Linden Lab last week". A short while later he posted the following message on his timeline on Facebook.

My first reaction to this rather surprising news was to check Linden Lab's (url) webpage, and sure enough, Rod Humble was no longer listed as one of the company's management.

It seemed rather amateurish to me that no official announcement about the change had been made - and still hasn't, but then I remembered that no announcement has ever been made by the company concerning my Philip - to some of you better known as Philip Rosedale - stepping down as Chairman of the Board. Linden Lab seems to really need someone with skills in communication.

However, I would like to thank Rod for all the improvements that have been made during his three years as CEO and  like my darling Sergeant of Arms sirhc DeSantis in a comment concerning the news on New World Notes (url) I say "Best of luck to (you Rod). Now...who wants to step up to be vilified next (because we are so supportive are we not =^^= )"

Laird ❤ Linden Lab=True

So many improvements have been made in SecondLife over the last couple of years, that I have been thinking it was time to consider updating the landscaping at Southern Charm. As some of you may already know, the time lapse between me thinking of something to actually doing it is sometimes extremely long. However, at other instances, I just get tired with myself and do it right away.

Early yesterday I had been experimenting with my newly acquired snow HUD and Guyke, the Prince of Paradijs, had come over to assist me. I then realized that winterifying the landscaping convincingly would require so much more than just falling snow. The ground textures would also have to be changed and the all the trees and plants would need to be updated to the kind that change according to the seasons. It seemed rather overwhelming and I was a little hesitant.

The Prince of Paradijs started - ever so sweetly and subtly - informing me about the great developments that had been made by the gardeners and creators in later years to make trees "that don't look flat".

I let it slowly sink in and then I started asking him if he thought specific trees all over the place looked flat. Even if he tried his very best to be delicate about it, I came to the realisation that my son thought all my trees and plants were antiquated, flat and awful "even if they were once the best you could get...". My son is careful never to hurt my feelings and he knows how attached I am to Southern Charm, but I can always expect him to - eventually - tell me the truth.

Later Guyke and I were joined by my boyfriend Tomais and the three of us took a tour around the Arrival Area. "To hell with it", I thought to myself, and began returning or deleting trees as we went along. This is when I got called up by brother in-law Dej. "I see you're doing landscaping... if you have a moment could you remove some things here also", he said. My sweet Dej had been suffering for three years so I went over to his parcel and removed a load of ugly stuff.

After Guyke had left us to cater to Ziggy's needs and urges, and his own also no doubt, Tomais, Dej and I started looking for more eyesores to attend to. I then remembered the strange and ugly hill that was a remnant from when the sim had been subdivided into parcels, but now just looked weird. I asked Dej if he would mind if it was flattened out, he told me he would welcome it because he had always thought it looked strange.

Although I have never previously terraformed during my entire existence in SecondLife I thought, "How hard can it be, really, everyone else does it. You are the only one you know who leaves it to others. Come on, just do it!" Thought and done, I unblocked terraforming and started to level out the hill. I thought I was absolutely amazing at it and that it was really easy, even if I heard Dej talking to me in the background telling me to be careful.

A few minute later I looked at my work, It was astounding! The hill had been perfectly flattened. Unfortunately, as Dej and Tomais pointed out to me very kindly, the rest of the land all around us had been raised. The big lake on the sim was gone, the canals and waterways also and the seating at the Arrival Area was now under the ground. Hell and damnation what had I done!
"Call the Lindens for a rollback", I thought just as the other two suggested it. So I went on the SecondLife website and chatted with the kind Izzy Linden at customer support. He kindly informed me that I would need to submit a ticket about it. I did that promptly and told them that I had experienced a terraforming disaster, as I had not heeded by wise brother in-law Dejerrity Mycron's warnings to be careful.

With the holiday weekend and all I was not expecting anything to happen before Monday, but lo and behold, within five minutes of submitting the ticket I got a message from the wonderful and clever Elijah Linden that the sim was going to restart in five minutes.

As I told Tomais and Dej, the Lindens know that I love them and this shows they love me back. I would not be surprised if they actually have my portrait up in the company lunchroom right next to my darling Philip Linden's.

Izzy Linden and Elijah Linden have definitely made my Holiday cards list this year for their courteous and speedy assistance!

I Signed Up With Philip

After reading about this on my bosom buddy Apmel Goosson's blog "My Avatar's Name is Apmel" I signed up to become an alpha tester on Philip Rosedale's new project High Fidelity.

The man, the myth, the legend Philip Rosedale (previously a.k.a. Philip Linden), as you all should know, is the original creator of SecondLife, who after leaving Linden Lab has now go on to create another wonderful new world.

Where my Philip goes, I follow! (This by no means implies that I will ever leave SecondLife before they pull the plug on it in San Francisco.)
____

The Idea
We're building a new virtual world enabling rich avatar interactions driven by sensor-equipped hardware, simulated and served by devices (phones, tablets and laptops/desktops) contributed by end-users.

The Matter
Voxels. We're making a strategic bet that rich computer rendering is heading there. Imagine an experience with cubes of many different sizes, with the ability to scale them down to a seamless molecular fabric. Now imagine these building blocks manifesting complex physical properties.

Finally, imagine that world extending visibly to vanishing points like our world does today, enabling you to see your house, your neighborhood, distant mountains, and other planets in the sky. We believe computing power and network transmission speeds are evolving to make such a world possible, represented by a sparse voxel octree data structure.

And when you visit that webpage, please, oh please, make sure to click the sound players under each of the team members, especially Philip!

The Cat & the Princess

Once upon a time, as all good stories should start even the true ones, there was an English cat living in Canada. He was a tall and lean man with a great capacity for love. On the other side of the Atlantic ocean in a small provincial Swedish town there lived a short and full figured princess with a weakness for tall and lean men and a similar capacity for love but no one to shower it over.
sirhc and Vampi posing for my blog project Naked Avatars in SecondLife
(see the tag Nakna avatarer i SL)
Little did the two know that the love of their lives existed and was waiting to be found. Universe saw this and knew it was wrong. This should not be like this, Universe felt, the two should be together and love and take care of eachother.

Universe thought about it a while and then it came with a brilliant plan and set it in motion. First it lighted a spark in the brain of a creative American computer geek named Philip Rosedale, something about creating a virtual world where he and his geeky friends and people from all over the world could meet and discuss their weird digital stuff and kill each other in war games and build stuff and have wild, steamy and passionate sex with fabulous women and tall, lean, men or cats or whatever they wished. Philip managed to convince enough of his wonderful geeky and creative friends about his vision and they set out to create the virtual world that was to become known and loved as SecondLife.

The idea took off, the world was created and the wonderful, creative and innovative computer geeks from all around the globe converged into SecondLife. They built stuff, they beautified it, they just went wild with all their ideas. And the friends of the geeks started to check in to see what it was all about and they fell in love with it too, so did their friends and the friends of their friends.

Both the English cat and the Swedish princess were sort of computer geek so they of course heard about SecondLife too and joined the fun.

Then one day the princess was out on one of her excursions into the dark side of SecondLife, some war sim or other, and she saw this lean, mean, killing machine of a cat. And she loved what she saw and heard and could not get the cat out of her mind. She started prowling around wherever he went and stalked him from sim to sim until one day she decided to take a leap of faith and just pounce on him. The poor, innocent and lovable cat did not know what had hit him. The princess was like a whirlwind, a tornado of excitement and love that took over his life, his thought and his dreams, just as he had - unknowingly - taken over her's.

The two started spending more and more time together, falling deeper in love as the days and weeks and months went by. They also started sharing their first lives on Skype, with the cam running 24/7, so they could look after each other and talk, talk, talk, talk, talk and watch a little. After a while they got handfasted in some weird wiccan ceremony and their love was sealed. Only Universe knows what kind of kinky heterosexual stuff went on in front of those cameras besides the two watching each other sleep, eat, wash, pee and all the other daily humdrum. Universe watched on and smiled and saw that all was well.

Then one day the princess woke up and couldn't see the cat anywhere in his apartment. He had completely disappeared from it, the camera was still running but the apartment was empty. She was not that worried at first but as the hours passed the worrying mounted, especially since the cat was sick and feverish at the time. When the hours turned to days she definitely knew something was wrong. She called out for help and assistance among her friends and an especially resourceful friend, a practical woman of course, lifted the phone and called the local police force in the Canadian town where the cat was living.
Vampi and sirhc and their alts for the blog project Naked Avatars in SecondLife
Despite the unusual circumstances the Canadian police were amazingly helpful and swiftly located  the cat and - after receiving his consent - informed the resourceful woman about his whereabouts and where he could be reached.

The beautiful cat had been found wandering the streets and not being able to find his way home in his sick and feverish state. He had been taken to hospital for treatment and was recovering when the Canadian police found him and informed him that a crazy princess in Sweden was asking about him.

Universe, that had been watching the whole story unfold, knew that something had to be done. The two could not be kept apart anymore, both needed the other to look after them and to look after the other. In some miraculous way a plane ticket was arranged  with a one way trip to Sweden. The still weak cat packed up his stuff and got on the plane which would deliver him to the waiting princess.

On this day, July 20, three years ago the two fell into each others loving arms at the train station in Helsingborg, Sweden, (See Bock in SecondLife; The kitten has arrived). Since then the two have stayed as inseparable as they were before, but now in both lives. The princess has taken care of the cats health and he has done the same for her. As it turned out the cat is an amazing cook, baker etc., etc., so he put the princess on an organic, nutritional and healthy diet. She is not as full figured anymore but feeling much better she tells me.

Universe is still watching over the two. It sees that they are doing well and it is happy, and so are the rest of their friends. For this is a true story, somewhat freely embellished but nonetheless true.

The princess is the lairds CTO Vampi Twine DeSantis McMillan McMillan (honorary) and the cat is his Sergeant at Arms sirhc DeSantis McMillan. The wonderful resourceful woman is PirateJenny Whybroe.

Happy 3rd Anniversary in Sweden, sirhc!

I hope you two will live happily together ever after. Love you both!

Philip Linden Is Dead,
Long Live Philip Rosedale (Updated)

My buddy NE0 Timeless has a wonderful knack of finding interesting stuff when he is scouring the Internet.

As you may remember, I reported a while back, that Philip no longer holds a official position at Linden Lab, either in management or on the board.

Today NE0 has published the trailer for an interview with Philip Rosedale (creator of SecondLife formerly best known as the avatar Philip Linden) Free Your Mind: Philip Rosedale Interview Trailer 2013-06-21 (Second Life).

In the interview for the upcoming Burning Man Philip Rosedale appears in his new avatar.

I must say that it is a wonderful and vast improvement, I am going to name this update Philip (Linden) Rosedale 3.0.

Update You can now see the full interview at Daniel Voyager's Blog: New Philip Rosedale Interview at Burn2

Congratulations, SecondLife!

Our wonderful immersive three dimensional virtual reality SecondLife is officially 10 years old today!

I would like to take this occasion to thank Philip Linden, in first life also known as Philip Rosedale, the founding father of our world, who first envisioned something far less complicated and more militant than the spectacular, wonderful and fabulous world we inhabit today.

Besides Philip there were other brilliant and fabulous geeks and nerds, those who first understood what he was rambling about and could assist him in creating the very first version of our world and then the later generations of amazing and lovable tech geeks and nerds at Linden Lab who kept on tweaking, adjusting and adding to the original version during the first marvelous ten years.

I love all of you adorable dorks, Philip Linden, Andrew Linden, Cory Linden, Frank Linden, James Linden, Doug Linden, Eric Linden, John Linden, Tessa Linden (who kept the first generation fueled with caffeine and dealt with matters so that the geeks and nerds wouldn't have to drop their work and do it) and all the other amazingly talented geeks and nerds and other wonderful people that followed, including Belinda Linden, Keira Linden and Theresa Linden. All of the amazing Lindens, with the single exception of that awful man M Linden, the s-o-b who downsized Linden Labs dramatically and so left us hanging with loads of untreated and unsolved issues for a long time.

You all and we made it through the first ten years, my darlings, now give us ten more wonderful years!

What My Philip Is Up To!

As you may remember, I posted awhile back that "my Philip", a.k.a. Philip Rosedale in first life and Philip Linden in SecondLife, had completely dropped out of the leadership of Linden Lab (both the management and the board).

Well, I put my dear friend, attorney and sleuth Diana Gilderoy on the track and she has now reported back with some exciting news.

My darling Philip has actually started work on creating a new and improved virtual world for us. Philip and Mitch Kapor and some other imaginative people have started a company named High Fidelity. On the company's blog the first thing they declare is this:
"The Idea
We're building a new virtual world enabling rich avatar interactions driven by sensor-equipped hardware, simulated and served by devices (phones, tablets and laptops/desktops) contributed by end-users."
Take a look here for more, High Fidelity blog and this interesting post on TechCrunch by Leena Rao, which was posted on April 4, 2013, Second Life Founder Raises $2.4M For New Stealth Startup, High Fidelity

It is not yet known what Philip and his friends plan to call the new world but I should imagine that we can safely assume that ThirdLife is out of the question.

P.S.I have been thinking about this and have come to the conclusion that it is a really smart move by Philip to create a new and improved world from scratch, because that way he circumvents and avoids to have to deal with the usual crowd of loudmouthed residents in SecondLife who yell, kick and scream about any and every - minor or major - change that is made.

The Benefit of Two Realities

As I mentioned in an earlier post my first life sucked big time today, so at the behest of my buddy Ziggy I logged into my other life.

If I have not done so before I would now like to take the opportunity of thanking Philip Rosedale (a.k.a. Philip Linden), the creator of SecondLife, for supplying me with this wonderful alternative reality. On a day like today it felt like a great relief and almost a lifesaver.

When I came in-world I was immediately surrounded by good, nice, decent and caring people and my outlook on life slowly shifted. I had two long talks and a few shorter ones..

The first long talk was with my brother in-law Dej who came over to visit with me at my current favorite spot on the home sim - the grassy knoll between the two ponds close to the house. I really trust Dej, he has always been there for me over the last three years. I also trust in his common sense and no nonsense attitude towards life.

When Dej had to leave for a drink and dinner in first life, I was hailed by my buddy Ziggy. We had a lot of catching up to do as we hadn't really spoken with each other since well before Easter.

Although the two men at first glance may seem very different, they have certain fundamental traits in common which appeal to me. Serious, intelligent men with a humorous twist have always made me feel comfortable and secure.

Knocked Out by the 4th Flu

Sweden has had four different flu-strains this winter which have been wrecking havoc among the population. I have already gone through three of them and was hoping that i would be lucky enough to avoid the fourth one.

Not so, while I was setting my auto-response message on my email at work on Friday - as I am taking a vacation until the Easter holidays - I felt my throat going all sore, the fever mounting in my delicious body and aches starting absolutely everywhere in my body, from head to feet and effecting every organ in between.

I managed to drop in at Benja's and Ryce's wedding yesterday and stay for a short while during the reception afterwards but then I was completely exhausted and had to crash into bed. '

I am blaming the weakness of my immune system on Philip Linden for the shocking news that he has deserted me into the hands of people I do not know or trust, with the possible exception of Mitch Kapor..

There will be no posts for a while until I feel much better! Take care all my darlings  and hope to see you soon!

What Has Happened To My Philip?

I came across this yesterday, but could not believe my eyes - so I thought I had better sleep on it and come back for another look today.

This snippet is from http://lindenlab.com/about on Linden Lab's webpage.

My wonderful Philip Rosedale, the founder of Linden Lab and my and your creator, (in-world a.k.a. Philip Linden) is nowhere to be found in the listings of the management or the board of Linden Lab.

Philip was the only person in the management or on the board that I felt some personal trust for when it comes to keep the original vision alive.

Did my beloved Philip leave? If so when and for what reason? Why has no one bothered to inform me? What will his removal from the board mean for the residents of SecondLife? And what is my Philip doing now?

Or is this old news to most of you, that I have missed foe some reason or other?

Must Read for Rod Humble and Linden Lab

Rod Humble and the rest of you guys and girls at Linden Lab must already know that I love you all and that I am usually a staunch supporter of what you guys provide us with. But...

We - the residents that have been here a long time and still come back - have seen you perform several changes in our in-world experiences that do not seem to address our immediate concerns and problems. This has continued despite repeated promises from both my beloved Phillip Linden and from you too dearest Rodvik Linden.

We did not ask for "mesh", you shoved it down our throats, neither did we ask for "pathfinding", which you are force feeding us now. If any of these things are happening to fix the stuff we have been praying you to fix, you have been awfully bad in communicating it. And if it isn't, why the hell don´t you fixed the promised things first before doing things that are cool only for the tech-geeks?

Please read the plea from another frustrated resident (and a very smart and cute cookie at that) Mr. Ziggy Starsmith Thank You, Linden Lab ... Thanks Alot! (url).
