The Fashion Show at SP2012

I am spending too much time having fun with friends at the Second Pride Festival and not blogging enough so i have a lot to tell you all, but will do so in increments.
The fashionistas arrive
Starting off, let me tell you about the Second Pride Fashion Show yesterday.

Three brand names where represented in the show, Beefcake and Empire Emporium which both do menswear, while Tort does womenswear. I will show them in that order, so here goes.
Sneak peak to where the models are waiting
Sexy MC Chade Dagger did a great job

 1. Beefcake

2. Empire Emporium

3, Tort

There was one of the men´s outfits that I fell in love with, let see if you can guess which...? I promise its not the model´s allure (even if he happens to be a fine specimen), it is a matter of pure design!

I actually bought it today and wore it for the first part of my fun at Pride roday.

Sabotage at SP2012

Second Life - Group notice: Sabotage!!!!
Group Notice From: Second Pride Festival, Doc Spad

Yesterday, Saturday, late in the day someone managed to wreck most of the buildings in the Buenos Aires region of our Pride celebration. The vendor items were untouched...it was just the buildings. A crew of individuals did their best to uncover the shops for visitors to still see the vendor displays. During the day on Sunday various volunteers will get things put back together. so that others might enjoy that region for the remainder of Pride.

This happened 7 hours ago while I was sleeping. It is - that I know of - not known who these griefers are and their reasons for this willfully destructive attack  People who have the urge to destroy and hurt others to get a thrill in life are sad and contemptible.

Interesting Twist, Julian

Julian Assange delivered a statement to the press yesterday, through a spokesperson outside the Ecuadorean embassy in London, in which he, among other things, said:
"Although it is normal procedure, Swedish authorities have refused, without reason, to make the three hour trip to London and to interview Julian causing him to be trapped in the UK under virtual house arrest for 561 days and an additional 10 days in solitary confinement – all without charge. Instead they have issued an Interpol red notice and extradition requests."

Nice try Julian, but you get no bananas from me. You cannot blame this on either the prosecutor Mrs. Marianne Ny or Sweden, because it is all your own fault by the course of action you have chosen.

It is up to the prosecutor to decide in what manner to best conduct the investigation and if it is possible and suitable for the full investigation of the alleged crimes to question a suspect abroad. It is never a right for the suspected criminal to ask for special treatment or to tell the prosecutor how to do her job.

The Splash Party with DJ Regi

After fiddling unsuccessfully with the settings on my viewer (Linden Lab´s Viewer 3) for about an hour and a half to get it to play Birdcage for me, I finally gave up.

At the end I reached so far that the viewer told me it was playing Media but I still could not see or hear anything. I know that it is way easier on the Firestorm viewer, because Media has a button of its own there, but that viewer is too heavy and slow for my purposes, and it´s overloaded with shit I do not need or want.

Searching for something else to do I saw that the Second Pride Splash Party was on, so I decided to go there with my music turned down very low - and I do not regret it because the place was filled with Ziggy Starsmith, Levi Ewing, Larz Kaz and a lot of other of SecondLife´s hunkiest male avatars and a few of the nicest female ones too, like Kharissa Indigo and Tootsie Nootan.

The motto for the party was "as bare as you dare, but no erections allowed" which, as I told Ziggy, was the first request I heard of that is actually easier to accomplish in SecondLife than in first life.

Movies at SP2012 (Updated)

Did you know you can watch movies at the ongoing Second Pride Festival? Well, you can, there are two movies available.
Milk (url) is was playing in the National Academy of Music in London (SLurl).

Rent (url) is was playing in the Castro Theater in San Francisco (SLurl)

You must have QuickTime (url) installed. It is advised that you start the movie at the same time with friends so you can all be at the same point. You start the movie by playing your Media Stream for video.

If you haven't used QuickTime before, please remember to start it after you have installed it and allow it to be the primary viewer for the file types it requests,

That's what I am going to do today, I have had a bad headache for two days now and just want to relax without any music, so I guess it must be Milk for me tonight. I had actually suggested that one of the films shown should be the wonderful Beautiful Thing (url), but it wasn't considered to be "liberating" enough. I can appreciate that point, but still...

UPDATE
...and just as I logged in-world I got a message in the Pride Festival group that they had changed the movies to two I have seen about 10 times each. BUGGER me for being so slow!

Now showing are instead
