Stairway to Heaven" by Gert Wingårdh
This stair rises 18 meters over the ground and leads to nothing. It weighs six tons and is made of corrugated steel that is painted black. It was created by the architect Gert Wingårdh.

I will admit that it is a constructed object, but is it art?

    1. Nah, I don't always agree with you on that, buddy and son in-law, but this time perhaps... ;)

  2. Art is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. I don't know, for some reason this piece strikes me. At least it get's your attention and makes you ponder and talk about it. Art for Art's sake?

  3. Best art idea I ever heard of though was when John Lennon first met Yoko Ono at her art exhibit. He went up a ladder and written in small letters on the ceiling it said "YES". He then knew she was the woman for him.
