Visions of Hope - Silent Auction in Benefit of RFL of SL

From a press release
Ziki Questi, Tomais Ashdene, Em Larsson, Hills, Trinity Yazimoto, Boudicca Amat, Pusher, Bijou, Morgan Kincess, Dru G. Eiren-Milneaux and other great photographers and visual artists are joining forces on behalf of Relay For Life of SL (RFL of SL). Some of their original and unique works will be part of Visions of Hope, a silent auction starting on May 3, 2015.

Yes, that's it, an auction with some of the most renowned photograph artists in Second Life - and you can take one of them, or more, home with you (I mean their work, of course).

All the money raised with the activity will go to RFL of SL, which helps gather funds for the American Cancer Society's programs to improve cancer survival, decrease the incidence of cancer and improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their caretakers.

Visions of Hope will be held at Hope Haven Heroes Gallery (SLurl) during the whole month of May.

DJ Cupric will be responsible for the tunes during the opening party, on May 3rd, at 1 PM SLT, and everyone is invited to join.

The Silent Auction
For the auction, one just has to click on the title boards and make an offer. The minimum bid is just L$ 400 and the amounts can be increased by at least L$ 100 each time. At the end of May, we will learn who acquired what.

So, if you'd like to check the works of some amazing photographers in SL, and maybe acquire some of them and help the efforts of RFL of SL, go visit Hope Haven Heroes Gallery during this May, and join us for the opening party.

Visions of Hope is hosted by Hope Haven Heroes. Hope Haven is where the survivors and caregivers support groups meet. Hope Haven Heroes is the Relay For Life of SL team that represents it (more info on Hope Haven support groups at the gallery).

And the Oscar Goes To...

... the Much Honored Bock McMillan, laird of Southern Charm, prince of Cascade Falls, etc., etc., in not only one but two categories!

I won the Oscar's in the categories of Best Husband and Best Blogger. The jury consisted of my hubby Tomais Ashdene alone, so the choices are of course completely unbiased and cannot be disputed.

I in turn, being completely objective and totally ruthless awarded Tomais Ashdene the Oscars in the categories for Best Husband, Best FatherBest Photographer and Best Shoe Slut.

A Man of Many Talents

When I and Tomais returned to our beach house today, after a busy - and highly successful - day of gardening and dewinterizing at Southern Charm, we found Dru Eiren-Milneaux there already.

Dru was finishing off his work of building a staircase from the beach up to the house. As it was an extremely hot day, he was working in the buff so he wouldn't suffer from heat exposure. Apart from being a talented builder Dru is a wonderful photographer in both first life and SecondLife and, Tomais tells me, he is also talented in many handicrafts in first life.

During our conversation, I had to go AFK a while to "wash my hands" and get a smoke, when I returned I was greeted by a message written in the sand. It seems Dru had a special talent he wished to show me.
I laughed so hard and long that I nearly fell off my chair. While I and Tomais were still laughing and coughing and almost falling to pieces, Dru showed off with a little more of his "pee-art".
Isn't it simply amazing how many of us discover hidden talents in SecondLife? If the world only knew...
