Sunday at Elfay´s

Well, my dear Elfay has now decided to move her show "Elfay Pinkdot´s Coffee and Pajamas Jazz Show" to Sundays, 10 AM - 12 AM, at Circe´s Sunset Jazz Club (which is the oldest jazz club in SecondLife, it´s been around since 2004).

Yesterday I was there for Elfay´s Mardi Gras Special and so where many of "the usuals suspects", the big group of steady patrons. We are the ones that follow Elfay through hell and high water, come what may etc. etc.

All of us come to the show for the great music (mostly jazz), Elfay´s bantering and the usually great and inspired chat running in local throughout the show.

One of the many interesting things to look forward to is to see what outfits the group turns up in.

I hadn't changed since the evening before, except I wore my new well-earned bead necklaces. At Mardi Gras women earn their beads by showing their boobs, but as a man I have no boobs to show so I´ll leave you all guessing how I earned them this time...

My dear friend Diana during the show switched into one of the scariest voodoo witches I have seen since looking at a InWorldz-blog. LilTank has sworn to make a new pajama for every one of Elfay´s shows this year, and this time he looked really awesome.

Joetonight left way too early, before I had gotten my camera out.

Music Awareness 2011

I have been having some problems with this post, because I firmly believe that any cultural manifestation in itself - and by necessity - is a comment upon the prevailing norms, ideas and beliefs in the social context where it is preformed.

In my mind the song "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?" is truly a statement on it´s time and therefore political. A political song can of course embrace the norms, ideas and beliefs of it´s time and location as-well as it can be an apparent protest against them or an allegory or a cover-up. '

To me the theme of this event contains a self contradiction, but what the hell I´ll plug it anyway. Live music is after all one of the best things about SecondLife.

Thanks to Diana for the information!

Get Your Ass to Sweden, Julian!

Julian Assange is the founder of WikiLeaks, which is a well known International organization that publishes private, secret, and classified media from anonymous news sources and news leaks.

Mr. Assange made a brief visit to Sweden in August last year. The visit resulted in charges of one case of rape in Enköping, three cases of sexual molestation in Stockholm and Enköping and an additional case of unlawful duress in Stockholm. The claimants were two young Swedish women.

According to the Swedish prosecutor the investigations into the alleged crimes can not be continued without Mr. Assange allowing himself to be interrogated on the charges.

Sweden has since August issued an International arrest warrant demanding that Mr. Assange be arrested and extradited to Sweden for interrogation.

Today there was a court hearing held in the Belmarsh court (London) to set the date for further proceedings. It was announced that Mr. Assange will remain free on bail until the actual procedure begins on February 7th, 2011.

I strongly support WikiLeaks and it´s work in disclosing misconduct by and the sordid secrets of governments and officials all around the world. However Mr. Assanges continued refusal to co-operate with the investigation of the alleged crimes amaze me, especially if he - as he claims in the press - is innocent of all charges.

On a more personal note I would like to add, the longer you keep this charade running Julian, the more you seem like a bum and a coward - as my friend Diana would say - and more guilty by every day that passes. "Actions over words - always", my Ars would add I am sure.

You did not seem like a coward before this, so step up and do the right thing!
