The Serenity Wish of Southern Charm

"Serenity" by dobee on DeviantArt
May the laird grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
                                                     the courage
to change the things I can,
                                                                                                     and the wisdom
                                                                                                            to know the difference.

Today my Tomais and I went out sailing for the first time in a long while. It was just a short trip, because I was late home from work and Tomais had to leave for his work, but it was still good. There is something to be said for just being alone with the one you love on a boat at sea.

Night Sailing

On Sunday evening my Tomais and I went out sailing. It was a beautiful night with a full moon so I decided to take a few snapshots. It was a very pleasant and relaxing trip in the best imaginable company.

At Sea with the New Bandit IF

Alalyse Dean, is another of the many amazing content creators in SecondLife. She focuses mainly on creating ships and boats and sells them through her company Bandit.

Last weekend Analyse released a new sail boat - The Bandit IF (International Folkboat) - and I am sure you know that my consort was first in line to get it. Tomais had in fact already prepared the retexturing so he had it ready for when he could finally buy the boat.
What separates the Bandit IF from other sail boats in SecondLife is, as I understand it, that is intentionally made so that it needs two people to sail it, the skipper and his slave (although Tomais insists that the term is "crew". When we tried it out yesterday I am certain that you can guess who acted was skipper and who was the slave.
I am certain that Tomais thoroughly enjoyed the experiences of ordering me about for once, and - actually - so did I. We had a long and wonderful sailing experience and Tomais was very happy with his latest acquisition.
Before we finished our voyage yesterday - and I was sent of to bed - we were invited to our friend Petr Vanbeek's home for some newly baked cookies, hot coffee and cold beer.

Sunday Sailing

My captain was feeling under the weather and nostalgic and I myself was feeling just tired, so we decided to go sailing in one of my captains oldest sailboats, the T 12.

It was a busy day on the Blake Sea but I felt completely safe the whole time.

Sailing with Holter & Wayne

Tomais and I have been discussing a sailing trip with Holter and Wayne for a while, but with three time zones and sixteen hours difference between those furthest apart it took some planning.

On Sunday evening (Monday morning for Wayne) we finally managed to coordinate our busy schedules and took off out on the Blake Sea. It was a wonderful trip and we had a lot of fun and it got even better once we got on Skype together.
The best way to manage a sim crossing is to keep a steady eye on something beautiful nearby, I usually choose this view.
Wayne here gives us an example of what can happen if you don't lock onto Tomais buttocks, but Wayne seemed unusually accident prone that day...

O Captain! My Captain!

I dropped in at my sons place today for a surprise visit, alas everything was very decent and he was only rezzing a new peacock on his land.

Guyke has also been working on landscaping on his parcel since the latest breakup with Ziggy. The two of them are now neighbors. I love them both.

After showing me around his beautiful place I asked Guyke to take me on a sailing trip around the archipelago of Second Norway on his boat "Paradijs". Which he agreed to but telling me that he was not as good at it as Ziggy.

Well, let me tell you, my son is an awesome sailor, much better I should think than he believes himself! The voyage was a pleasant experience and I felt safe in his hands.
After the sailing we decided to hang around a little on his newly acquired toobies and talk a little more when he did not have to focus his attention on speed and direction.

Relaxing

I was lazy today, so I stayed at home and sat in my meadow for a while listening to the birds chirping and chatting with Butch, Guyke and Dej.

They were all doing well. Butch was busy with getting a new DJ-program to replace his unreliable SAM. Guyke was brooding over the intricacies of sailing in SecondLife and Dej, who had had a fun night with little sleep, was even more tired than I and for better reasons.

Exploring With Ziggy

Late yesterday I went exploring with Ziggy Starsmith in Second Norway.

We especially took a look at the new yacht club our mutual friend Drew Barnard had set up there for the purpose of gathering gay SecondLife sailors.

Read more about this club and the beautiful Second Norway sims in my buddy´s post Rainbow Sails Yacht Club and Second Norway...I Gasped!
