Float Sponsors. The opening Parade will be at 10 AM SLT Saturday.
There
is a special area near where each float rezzes reserved so that Parade sponsors
may put their people on the floats for the maiden run, Please have your
people nearby and watching - attached is
the list with the parade order and approximate departures of each float. FIVE

so yet again second pride is a mess for the 4th year in a row. it is dead. there is no community no organization. i'm glad i got out of it years ago.

1 its not in places search.
2 NO landing point of interests (i landing under things.)
3 the parade (which i am looking at as i type this) is on ONE sim and not between 2 sims so more people can enjoy it?
4 where are the AM djing there was tons years ago there should have been notices on looking for djis.
5 why are so many shops empty i know there's tons of designers who would have packed that sim.
6 why dose the building look incomplete? there's just a road in one spot. and a building in the middle of the sim.
7 not pg yet again what if a gay family wants to come and sees all that nudity. not fair to them.
8. where are the aids quilts???
i really think pride needs to redo themselves i feel there needs to be all new people that should revive it make it a community again the way it used to be.
if not someone will start a new one that will be more about pride of being who we are as people.
i want to point out that the floats are lovely and are working properly this year.
i will have more to comment on when i find out more i feel is not right.

DeleteFinding faults is so easy, don't you think? If you should happen to find something that "is right", it would be valuable if you could share that also!
you are absolutely right but it is hard to find good things when you know people can do better. yes if i see something right i will post it but its hard to. i only see the flaws.

ReplyDeleteI will start with 8 - Second Pride does not have control of the AIDS quilts. They are in the inventory of one person/avatar.
7 - If you mean the general rating - Pride hasn't been on a general rated sim ever that I can remember. The ruling from LL on nudity on a mature sim is it is allowed just not public pixel sex.
6. Please be specific which sim you are referring to - the east sim - there is a building in the middle that is a museum to Stonewall. The museum is adjacent to the dancefloor on that sim.
5. We worked VERY hard attempting to contact vendors/merchants to come to pride. We went through last years list of vendors and I know that I personally walked through 4 malls that are LGBT friendly and gave all the vendors notecards. We have been promoting it everyway we know how. If you can suggest how to get people to respond, I would be happy to listen. We made multiple attempts at contacting vendors from last year.
4. DJs - notices did go out to DJs. Starting with all the DJ's who played pride last year. Notices went out in the Pride group and some other inworld groups. Several follow ups were attempted but folks were not responding.
3 Due to the scripting and mechanics of the parade - it is only possible to run it on one sim. They are not indiivdual driven objects like in the past.
2. landing is open to allow vendors to give out LMs to their locations.

This team on the Pride board has worked very hard this year and has done a great job to bring together this event.
Opening ceremony party was standing room only most of the night.
The parade sim was packed (95max) and upwards of 40+ people on the next sim watching.
So in my eyes this event is off to a great start.

Deleteyes i know i can sit here and judge but a someone who is a builder ex dj'd, planner super organized no stone/leaf un-turned. (no im not perfect i know no one is) i know what it is to have to put on a whole production. and that is why i am commenting.
ReplyDelete8. yes i understand that people leave sl or move on. but why now someone comes up with the idea to make new ones and yes make sure they are given to the second pride avi.
7. it used to be on mature sim but you had to keep your junk covered. and as someone old in sl. (yes im sl old.) i remember when it was mature but yet pg to include everyone in it there are plenty of gay families in sl that im sure would attend.
6 second pride east. stone wall inn and it just cut off... i mean no continuation of the road....

4. yes djs are lazy but there should be a master list of djs that have or are new and want to be in pride. yes djs come and go but i think its unfair for the am not to have parties when i know there are people that want to come party.
3. yes i get the limitations of scripting im not a script but i have a parade script. i know it cant go over 2 sims. my thing is why not put it between 2 sims on the border so 2 sims can see it more properly is what i mean. this is the best one yet i am very happy it worked properly just the placement of it in the conner just do not seem fair to all that hard work as a builder..

1. only reason im stating this is yea there is all search but places there is no Name of the place and description (promotion of the event is all im saying.). in search under places i barely use all search and places search is where i go to find a place.

ok let me follow up -
Delete1 - that issue is correct as of this morning.
3 - The placement was worked out with the builder and the traffic flow of the sims was considered as well.
4. we are developing a master list of DJs for future use. One did not previously exist. The dance slots were filled first by the vendors and sponsors and then the dj's could pick spots. The DJ's that are playing chose their slots due to availability.
5. having been involved with SP in one way or another for several years, I tried to contact as many "older" merchants as I coiuld. We did not have a master list to work from.
8. In the past it was never the practice of the board to have everything go through the SP avatar. It was a policy we established early this year after items that we thought belonged to the avatar and the group disappeared.

The reason the stores are empty is because the merchants don't want to be involved with something like SP, having such a horrific reputation. It has nothing to do with not knowing about it. Face the facts. Second Pride is over. Very few have any trust or want any involvement with it.
