"Los 33"

I am rejoicing with the rest of the world as the rescue of the 33 miners proceeds and also thinking of their fate.

The 32 chilean and 1 bolivian miners were entombed 69 days ago in a mine half a mile under the Atacama desert in Chile. The fortitude and unity of these men has clearly played a key role in their survival.

The miners now have a  new-found celebrity status. It was not surprising therefore to hear that they have received media training classes by videoconference from the surface. Subjects have included how to handle questions about sensitive issues such as money matters, sexual thoughts while underground and of course the squabbling families.

The miners have also been forced to choose the three relatives who will meet them when they finally emerge from the mine. Quite a challenge for men with large and sometimes duelling families "The fighting within the families and the domestic squabbles has actually been our greatest headache," Commander Andreas Llarena, a Chilean navy doctor, told The Sunday Telegraph.

It´s time to meet your loved one´s guys, and all your well kept secrets that have been revealed to the world by the press corps while you were away for 65 days. Just face the music and stand straight, you can do it!
