GA’s SummerFest 2015

The Gay Archipelago’s Summerfest will run from August 28 - September 6, 2015.

This year's theme will be "Cirque Du So Gay" and will be on it's own sim this year.

The GA Summerfest will be a truly international event and host sponsored events over the 10 days on the GA Festival sim and on our GA Estates. This is a huge goal and we will need your participation.

There are a big assortment of sponsor & vendor packages, ranging from free (terms and conditions may apply) up to L$100,000.

The second day of the Pride festival opened with the McMillan Parade Ball, an event sponsored by this blog, so of course I had to be there in my family tartan with my consort Tomais at my side.

DJ Kahvy with his host and spouse Garrett gave all of us who were there a wonderful time and a great warm-up for what was to come later in the day.

The photos above are by my friend Gigi Swansen, with whom I had the pleasure of dancing a couple of dances before she had to go off to work.

After Gigi left I asked my sweet Swedish friend Helene Dragoone for a few dances. She did me the honor of leading so I could just relax and enjoy the rest of the event.

I had a fabulous time and I hope all the others had as fun a time too.

Although I already know that Second Pride's claim to this being the organization's 10th anniversary is challenged by some, I choose to accept it. (Nota bene, in my response to a comment by my dear friend Garth Raleigh, I - after having reviewed what  Second Pride actually says - correct myself as to the organization claiming anything of the sort.)

In my mind Second Pride - and any other LGBT organization on the grid, that can show any connection between their existing organization and the ad hoc committees celebrating Pride in the early days of SecondLife, can make the same claim.

Fantasy Gay Pride - September 19-28, 2014

I got this press release through Garth Raleigh, who is one of my most prolific sources, and I am very happy to share it with you all well in advance so you can get your outfits together in time.

Garth also told me the LGBT fae community is one of the happiest and most drama-free he has encountered in SecondLife.

"Every year a small group of creators get together to create a week long celebration of everything GLBT.  Our aim is to promote acceptance of all positive sexual orientations of all genders. All sexualities are very welcome to our festival to raise awareness of these issues worldwide - all on a unique and intriguing land with creations and magic never seen before from our very talented fantasy and fae designers.

When they were first told, fairy tales were not innocent stories for children. They often dealt with themes that were definitely adult in nature. This year's presentations will cover the erotic, twisted or hidden side of the tales we've all grown up with. These are not your grandmother's fairy tales!

GA SummerFest 2014 Starts Today

The Gay Archipelago's Pride celebration, the GA SummerFest 2014, starts today Friday July 11th and goes on until Sunday July 20th.

The first scheduled event is at 10 AM SLT but until then there is lots of other things to do, as shopping at the huge mall (SLurl) or why not begin on the Vistas & Blossoms Tour starting point (SLurl). Second Pride Festival Starts on Saturday

If you are considering being a vendor or sponsor at the Second Pride Festival, there is still time to get in on one of the largest LGBTQ events on the grid. Don't be left out!

Second Pride: Float Sponsor Deadline June 1

If you are considering a Gold or Platinum Sponsorship in this years Second Pride Festival, these are the last few days to select your float and send your logos to the organizers. (So as not to overburden The Great Builder Jak Calcutt with trivial matters, I usually handle such things trough his sexy and really quite clever handyman and little helper Karl Kalchek.)

I'm A SP2014 Sponsor, Why Aren't You?

During the weekend Bock in SecondLife became a Platinum Sponsor of Second Pride 2014.

It only costs L$20,000, which roughly converts to US$80. I did it mostly to show my support for Second Pride but also to be able to get the opportunity to choose a float for the parade. I chose the Rainbow Snoopy blimp.

I love and adore Pride-parades and have missed them dearly since "the debacle of the barges" at the opening of Second Pride 2010 or 2011. That was when Second Pride was held at a Venetian styled sim and the parade was to consist of barges on the canals between the sims. Unfortunately the brilliant and beautiful idea got drowned in lag and the barges started crashing and sinking after barely making it out on the first part of the canals.

This year there are several different sponsor packages ranging between L$2,500 to L$100,000 (or more), it would be quite easy for you - alone or together with some friends - to buy a sponsorship and get one of the awesome floats or balloons for the opening parade. 

After having seen them in action yesterday, I can honestly say they are even better than they look in the Parade Float Gallery.

If you should have a business there are also vendor packages. Both the vendor and sponsor packages come with a wide variety of promotions and ads, see the full options at the festival packages comparison chart.

As Bock in SecondLife is a non-commercial enterprise depending entirely and solely on the good will of the independently wealthy Much Honored Bock McMillan, laird of Southern Charm etc., etc., I chose to donate all promotional and advertising to the Human Rights Campaign.

This should be a pretty interesting meeting seeing we are less than three months away from the Festival.
