The Queen & King of Second Pride Pageant

Who can participate?:
Anyone in the avatar form of your preference. We are celebrating diversity! However, you may only apply for either Queen or King, not both.

What to do for the Grand Finale on June 29th at 10:00 AM SLT (this applies to both Queen and King):

You will style two outfits:
  1. Be inspired by anything that is great, which well represents why the LGBT community should be proud. You may decide to be inspired by Oscar Wilde, or perhaps a fashion designer or a movie star, or a LGBT activist from anywhere around the world. Make us proud!
  2. Dress yourself as you believe the Queen or King of Second Pride should look like. Be original, be bold, be flamboyant and be fab!
How to participate:
  1. Write a first notecard labeled: "I want to be Queen - YOUR NAME" or "I want to be King - YOUR NAME"
  2. Include a full perm photo of your full avatar, and a short explanation of why you could well represent the LGBT Community.
  3. Drop that notecard on Frolic Mills' profile in-world.
  1. Write a second notecard labeled "Why I am proud - YOUR NAME"
  2. Include a short statement about who or what you got inspired by for your first styling
  3. Drop that notecard on Frolic Mills' profile in-world
Rehearsal and Show time:
There is a mandatory rehearsal on Saturday June 28th at: 10:00 AM SLT

I had to share these wonderful pictures that my dear friend and master photographer JJ Goodman took of my family and me when we were partying at DJ Rascal's set at the Second Pride yesterday.

Thank you so much for the gorgeous pictures J.J!

Re-Post: Remember Stonewall (2014)

This is essentially a re-post of a post I have run the last few years, with some minor changes.

Let us always be proud and thankful to the trannies who finally had enough of the harassment and fought back 45 years ago on June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn. We owe you, guys and girls!

Read more on Wikipedia Stonewall riots.
---

Before Stonewall
  • a person with homosexual inclinations was considered to be mentally ill,
  • a person taking part in homosexual sexual activity was considered to be a criminal,
  • a person suspected of being homosexual could be abused or harassed without risk of penalty - except in the most extreme cases,
  • a homosexual parent was considered unfit to take care of his/her own children,
  • Civil unions or same-sex marriages were unthinkable. etc., etc.
All of us should always remember the gratitude we owe the trannies.

We must also remember that many of our brothers and sisters worldwide still live with the very real risk of
  • being murdered, incarcerated or hospitalized, abused, raped and harassed
  • losing custody of their children
  • losing their employment
simply for being homosexual.

Blogs With Great Second Pride Coverage

I highly recommend these four excellent blogs to complete your knowledge of what is happening at Second Pride this year. (Listed in alphabetical order.)

blogger Misteltoe Ethaniel's Blog

As the wonderful (but small) Misteltoe completely disappears in my arms I thought I would share a picture of her, so you can see what she actually looks like.

This was the first time I had the pleasure of meeting Misteltoe in-world, although we have been communicating for some years now on each others blogs.
