SP2012 - Day 2

Lets start at the end of my second day with a few hunky men, it always makes me feel better.

Above and below you see the three hunkiest men of the day at Second Pride, it´s DJ Cupric "The Coop" Router and his host Jagger Naughton with a companion doing their SWAMP THANG. Whatever that was it was leisurely and sexy.

I took it very easy Day 2 and gave it an early night because I knew I had to be up by 12 AM (midnight) SLT for Elfay Pinkdot´s Coffee & Pajamas Jazz Show and an hour after that my mate DJ Sarco Halderman´s set..

DJ Wesley Spengler grooving and blogger Jeff Ellsworth checking him out.
The rest of the day I spent checking out the Ruthenium sim, where parts of the celebration rakes place.

I found the exhibition of quilts there, beautifully displayed and in a calm setting. Strangely enough there were quilts from 2003-2009 and none at all for 2010 and later.
The buildteam for Second Pride, under the lead of my friend Levi Ewing,  have done a really great job, with beautiful sets imaging the streets of
Buenos Aires (SLurl)
London (SLurl)
San Francisco (SLurl) and
Sydney (SLurl)

On Ruthenium there are a couple of beautiful streets from a few block in Buenos Aires. (see below)
The Gay History Museum is an amazing build showing an exhibition of the LGBT-movement from the early days until the present days. The globes are a masterpiece, both from outside and within.

At The Tribute

I have always enjoyed visiting Wesley Spengler´s sets in SecondLife. Wes and his regular host Kharissa Indigo have a way of keeping the talk in local chat going and the crowd happy. They are a great team together.

The crowd at The Tribute last night consisted of a whole lot of hot men (a good mix of old timers and later arrivals), with Khar as the only representative of the so called "fairer sex".

I hauled Ziggy Starsmith over to keep me company. We had a good time dancing and chatting before my typos got the better of me at 4 AM in my morning. My typos have always been a sure indication to me that it is time to withdraw and crawl to bed..

Bock Comes Home

Oh what an evening! I started my reentry much later than originally scheduled due to an unexpected maintenance nap that lasted longer than planned and left me dazed and believing I am going mad. (And I can already hear the snickering "Did he write ´going mad´, that dude has been mad as a blind hatter for years!") Anyhow, I may tell you about that in a post sometime.

The evening started with my friend Kahvy Sands reminding me that I had been invited to a ballroom dance that evening, and was late.

I felt like young Anton Hysén floating all over the floor like I had never done anything else. It was of course my dance partner Ms Jayde who made me look good, with some help from the Intan dance ball.

After the ballroom dancing I had a quick smoke and then a change of clothes to get my little ass over to the fundraiser for Second Pride 2012 at the French Le 5eme Élément Club.

The club is owned and operated by my old friend Helyo Mendes (we met at Second Pride 2008) and his business partner Lilou.

I was joined at the club by my wife-for-a-day Iendi Laville. We danced and chatted away in broken French and English to the great Techno Trance music of the cute and awesome DJ TITAZ. And you are correct, TITAZ is a bit blurry. We could not find anyone who could help translate the term "rebake" to French.

Iendi left me at a late/early hour but I was still not finished, so when I saw the notice from Kharissa Indigo that Wesley Spengler was having a set coming up at The Tribute I went there to round off my evening.

The room was packed with hunky and funny men chatting away like crazy in local, Wes and Khar are good at keeping the chat going in local and all the old-timers and the newcomers fall in.

I had a wonderful time all evening, and it felt like coming home again.

Sleepless in SecondLife

Ziggy and I
When I logged out from SecondLife after Feline´s set at The Sanctuary yesterday (see previous post), I was happy, tired and sleepy and was looking forward to a good nights sleep.

As a part of my regular ritual my bedroom had been had been well aired while I took off my clothes, brushed my teeth and washed myself. The room was exactly the right chilly temperature that I like when I crawled under the duvet, but the second my drowsy head hit my fluffed up, eiderdown filled, soft and well chilled pillow there was an almost audible ***Bazinga!*** ...and I was wide awake again.

I am not unaccustomed to this phenomenon so I have strategies to handle that situation. I stay in bed, just rest and focus on myself breathing in and breathing out, breathing in and breathing out. Any thoughts that come up quickly whisked away as my focus is turned back to resting and breathing, in and out, in and out.

This usually works well for me, but when I hadn't fallen asleep after an hour of this, I go to the next step. Get out of bed and do something relaxing or boring. I had to make a choice; Dreary sitcoms on television or back into the world that never sleeps? I chose SecondLife.

As I was logging back in I thought I remembered that Wesley Spengler had a set for the Americas on Fridays so I went to his new club The Tribute.

Well I remembered wrong, there was no party there, but the radio was on a good channel and there were a couple of friendly guys chatting and dancing there anyway. I joined them and asked my buddy Ziggy Starsmith, who was also inworld, to come and join us.

Wesley Spengler
After a while Wesley himself joined us and we all had a good time chatting and dancing.

About an hour later I was ready for a new try with my bed and this time I was more successful and fell asleep the second before my head rested on the pillow.

I am a fortunate man, to have a world handy where I can always find rest, relaxation, good music and great company whenever I need it.

The Tribute - The Opening

DJ Wesley Spengler opened a new club in SecondLife. It is called The Tribute. The club was filled with old-timers and some new too. When I saw some of the rez-dates I realized that I could still consider myself to be a  strapping young man in SecondLife. Some of these hot men were actually almost three years older than I am.

If I understood correctly Wesley will be doing both Euro and American sets in the future, which would be really awesome!

The best thing about being around old-timers in a club is that these guys have learned the importance of keeping the local chat going and to entertain each other with what they have to offer, both nostalgia and crazy memories and just plain funny stuff.

I had a really great time and thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Beach Party

Wesley in the center of attention
I remember Wesley Spengler from my earliest months in SecondLife, actually I think he may have been among the three first DJ I heard in-world. In those days Wesley had a Euro time slot also, before he became too busy in his real life. I always loved going to his parties because he has such a wonderful way of connecting with the audience.

Last night I went to his party because I happened to be awake at 4 a.m. in my morning. It was great fun,! Wes and the lovely Kharissa Indigo, who has hosted his parties for a long time and also is a Second Pride Board member, one of the only two women on the board.

They work very well together and kept the guys in a great mood. You always know when there is a good host because the guys chat in local and you see they are having fun. When I got there they were actually talking about IKEA and lingonberries.

Jeff doing his thing and me watching him move.
To my surprise and joy Jeff Ellsworth was there also, which gave me the opportunity to do a closer inspection of his most recent extreme makeover.

Stunning, I must say, absolutely stunning.

Wesley´s 5th Anniversary as DJ in SecondLife

So this night I set my alarm clock to 2:30 AM local time, because I sure as hell was not going to miss the surprise celebration of Wesley Spengler´s fifth anniversary as a DJ in SecondLife.

Me and Wes go way back. I think the first time I heard him was at Devil Inside, when it was the "only" gay club around, or at least the only place to be if you wanted to see all the beautiful male avatars assembled in one place.

Back in those days Wesley still used to do a set on a Euro-friendly time. Nowadays he is mostly on between 7 - 9PM SLT which is in the middle of the night for us. I only get to listen to him spin when I am on vacation.

I am happy I managed to get up tonight to catch the celebration. Armed with a pot of freshly brewed coffee and a pack of Marlboro´s I was ready to teleport to the Pavilion, Wes´s own wonderful club in SecondLife. The Pavilion is really one of the most beautiful clubs in SecondLife.

The venue was full of old-timers and a lot of "fresh meat" also, everyone in an excellent, chatty mood. As always when I have finished a teleport I move out of the way - so as not to block any newcomers entry and end up with avatars on my coiffure. As all of us know, moving when nothing has rezzed is a bit of a risk but this time I was lucky and ended up next to Ziggy Starsmith and Larz Kaz.

I am so happy that Kharissa Indigo remembered to invite me to this party, I loved being there and crawled back to bed again after two hours of fun and partying. I slept like a log.
