It's Pride Week!

The Second Pride Festival starts today!

I will be there and to flaunt my pride and my colors, to meet old friends and new ones and to enjoy as many of the events as I possibly can - given the restrictions set by timezones. However, as I have wisely planned my vacation to start at the same time as the festival I should be able to be on later than usually.

You can find the festival schedule of events on the Second Pride website here. (Please note that the schedule is subject to change, so check it every day to make certain there haven't been any changes affecting your plans.)

The events of the first day include the opening ceremonies with
4-6 PM - DJ Wes at the main stage (SLurl)
6-8 PM - DJ Shep at the main stage (SLurl)
8-10 PM - DJ Regi at the main stage (SLurl)

Besides these scheduled events there are lots of other things to do and enjoy on the three sims.

The Second Pride Parade is tomorrow Saturday 10 AM-12 PM (noon).

The parade starts after one of the most important events of the Pride Festival, which of course is The McMillan Parade Ball, 8-10 AM at the main stage (SLurl) with The Smith Boys (DJ Kahvy and host Garrett).

This is a formal event so dress to your teeth! Tartans are highly encouraged, but not required. This event is sponsored by Bock in SecondLife.

Spontaneous Clubbing

After a long and busy day of overseeing my master builder-interior designer-landscaper-gardener all rolled into one hot packet of dynamite, the brilliant and sublime Butch Diavolo, and shopping for more plants and more furniture I was knackered. When Guyke and Butch dropped out for bed I was going to leave too, I just had to buy some new eyes because the ones I had were doing weird stuff and then I  also had some stuff I wanted to put out over by the barn - or so I thought.

I  ended up fiddling about with stuff at the barn until I got the notice that DJ Wes and Khar were starting their party at The Tribute, so I thought I might as well go there to relax and look at men a little before hitting the sack. I ended up staying for over an hour, the place was wall-to-wall carpeted by the most wonderful men.

The Final Day of Second Pride 2013

I am sorry for posting this so late, but yesterday was a very long and happy day!

Here are some pictures and comments from four of the last six events. I could not make it to the final events due to extreme fatigue (I was falling asleep over my keyboard). Just for the record, I am NEVER going to dance again ever, or at least not for a month...

My final opinion on this years Second Pride will most likely be published sometime during the week. Now without further ado, please enjoy!

SP Winter Wonderland 2012

I got an invitation from Second Pride that I want to share with ya´ll.
It’s that wonderful time of year again when our thoughts turn to snow, lights, trees, presents and of course FUN!!

Second Pride has put together a playful and charming sim. A wonderful place to take a date or go with a group of friends!!!

Activities include a lift to the top of a mountain that you can ski off, an amazing train that takes you around the sim and an ice pond to skate on. If you’re not feeling active, have a little walk around the sim and take pics with the reindeer or on the sleds, chat with friends in the igloo while toasting marshmallows or even cuddle up with your partner and get cozy in the cabin. There is sledding, snow angels and lots of places to take pictures.

Grand Opening Party

Memory Failure

This snapshot was secretly taken on October 30 2007, but I didn't get it from the photographer until my brief visit inworld yesterday.

I am the brunette with the deep California sun tan. Those of you with good powers of observation will recognize the pride leather bracelet on my left wrist. It was made by Wesley Spengler, the DJ, and it was one of the first things I bought after I had plugged in my credit card to SecondLife.

The blond man is the photographer (who´s name I will withhold) is still a good friend. The reason he gave me the picture was that I actually denied ever having sex with him. In my memory, we had just gone through the preliminary motions before we were interrupted by his roommate arriving to the house they shared.

I have always known that my memory is capricious, but it seems it is even more erratic than I thought. How can I actually have had sex with someone, still have them as friends five years later and totally forget we ever f***ed?

Even with the photographic evidence presented I cannot recall the occasion although I do remember how my friend looked at the time and even the deck we are on.

When the picture was taken I had already been stalking Ars around during his sets at the gay clubs, but I thought that he did not notice me at all. Not long afterwards I would learn that he actually had seen me and liked me. Less than a month later we became a couple.

The Six Wives of Henry VIII

On Sunday evening I had the great pleasure of seeing the musical play "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" at The Marduk Theatre at the Second Pride Festival.

The legendary Wesley Spengler, proved that he could clean up nicely and gave us a wonderful, helpful and humorous narration of the events that unfolded on the stage.

The music to illustrate the event was fabulously chosen to give a tongue-in-cheek interpretation of the lyrics so that they were elevated to a completely new level and meaning.

As could be expected, the audience participation was an added benefit. We all dove in with gusto and scathing remarks.
Catherine of Aragon, brilliantly interpreted by Van Auster showed us - albeit in pixelated form - that the reputation of the women from Aragon for being among the sexiest in the world is not false.
Anne Boleyn, played by MeatJockey Lederberg, and her sister Jane, played by Marcus Steeplechase,  arrive at the court after a few years abroad. Anne Boleyn successfully entices Henry VIII with her foreign talents and vices.
Archbishop Thomas Cromwell, elegantly played by Kharissa Indigo, awaits to escort queen Anne Boleyn to the scaffold after she has been convicted of all crimes possible and sentenced to death.
Queen Anne says farewell to the court and the world on the scaffold.
CHOP IT OFF!
Jane Seymour, played by Callinet Dagostino, heats up the king and all his men and every other man she encounters during her short life.
King Henry, formidably played by Marcus Steeplechase, takes a moving farewell of Queen Jane before she is sent to the scaffold to get her head chopped off.
The king mourns the demise of Jane for three years, here seen passing time with his buddy archbishop Thomas. The archbishop is meanwhile scouring the protestant royal houses in search of a suitable new mate for the king.
Anne of Cleve, portrayed with flair by MJshotboy Skytower, arrives at the court of Saint James´s but turns out not to be to the liking of the king.
Queen Anne sings her goodbyes with the country classic D-I-V-O-R-C-E before being shipped back to Cleve by the king.
The kings former buddy archbishop Thomas is sentenced to death and beheaded for "lese majesté" (treason against his sovereign) for arranging the disastrous wedding with Anne of Cleve. CHOP IT OFF!
Catherine Howard, played by Peewee Musytari, arrives at court to screw with the king and everyone else with a pulse - and perhaps even without...
The court rejoices and celebrates at the upcoming beheading of Queen Catherine.
Queen Catherine prays for mercy and says her farewells.
CHOP IT OFF!
Catherine Parr, performed with bravado by Philip Eubanks, comes to court to marry and nurse the aging king.
The king sings his final number, of course it could be nothing else than "My way".
Grand finale, the ensemble and the audience dance and applaud an excellent performance!

This was a definite success and was extremely entertaining. If you ever get a chance to catch the show, jump at it!
