Photoshoot with Ricco

This evening I went along to watch as Tom had a photoshoot with Ricco Saenz for his blog Second Sighting. Ricco Saenz's journey in SL.

The shoot took place at the wild, mysterious and beautiful Dark Moon Avalon Isle sim. Tom was in his centaur avatar while handsome Ricco was a satyr. I could tell that the two knew each other well because their collaboration on the set was effortless and smooth.
In one of the pictures they took, Tom was supposed to have an arrow sticking into his bodacious rump and he was whining about it. I and Ricco ganged up on poor Tom and told him to "man up" and "take it like a man".

While the guys were posing, chatting and taking pictures I tried for the longest while to add Ricco's blog to my SecondLife blogroll, but it just would not stick whatever I tried. So I blamed it on "that darned technology" and decided try doing it after I had logged off.

When I tried it again it still did not let itself be added but I was reminded by a similar experience a while back so I checked my blogroll. Sure enough, the reason I could not add it was that it had already been added a long time ago duhhhhh.

The Advocate's 2013 Phobie Awards

The Advocate is an American LGBT-interest magazine, printed bi-monthly and available by subscription. The magazine also has a website Advocate.com.

The magazine today announced The Advocate's annual Phobie Awards.

Vladimir Putin (also unlovingly known as "Little Father" on this blog), president of Russia, was - quite correctly in my mind - announced as The Phobie of the Year for 2013.

Robert Mugabe (former freedom fighter turned heinous dictator), president of Zimbabwe, was named second runner up for the title.

You can read the motivations for the choices and the full list of contenders here: Phobie awards; The 13 Worst People of the Year

Tomais & Bock

Bock logs in after a Christmas party with colleagues and patient Tomais listens to him talk a lot of gibberish.

Love the man! I am so lucky to have met him!

"Something Has Come Up"

I was out shopping for new apparel with Tom, Guyke and Butch yesterday, when Tom suddenly tells us "Something has come up that I have to take care of". Nothing more. We said our goodbyes and see you tomorrows and the other two and I continued shopping.

Guyke took me to one of his secrets, a wonderful designer where I got an awesome outfit, see the picture below.
When I logged in to Facebook today I learned that Tomais has gone to the emergency room at the hospital with a suspected blood clot in his leg, although it later turned out to be something less serious that can be cured with antibiotics.

My initial reaction was first relief that Tom was not in any danger, but then I got tremendously angered by the fact that he had kept this news from me. I thought of what could have happened if it had actually been a clot or something equally evil and I didn't know of it and something went awry. I wanted to kick him, beat him up and yell at him for being so thoughtless, while at the same time I wanted to hold him and kiss him and talk to him and make sure he was really safe and would get well. (I am ashamed to admit it, but as you perhaps can notice, everything suddenly turned from worry about Tom and his health to what coulda, woulda, shoulda happened and how it would affect me.)

Tom handled me calmly, I am happy to say, and told me to log in-world where we could talk about it. He soon had me settled down and also promised that if anything like this ever happened again he would keep me informed. With that knowledge and knowing he was safe, I could go for my nap and try to sleep away the headache I have had all day.

Finally Moving Ahead

The Second Pride meeting on Sunday was a joy to witness for a devoted member. Instead of the bickering and infighting that has characterized the previous meetings, the few members that had assembled, saw a board working constructively to deal with the issues at hand and even raise their eyes to look into the future.
Left to right: Jagger Naughton, Sutry Long, Marge Beaumont, Karl Kalchek,
Andy Long, Jak Calcutt, Hottie B LockJaw and Merrick Genesis
The second most huggable man in SecondLife Jak Calcutt (Build Director) was granted access to the Second Pride avatar for the remainder of this year. The step was taken to avoid unnecessary delays in building as the avatar holds all the landscaping material, textures and buildings etc. that are owned by the organisation. The board and the membership present were convinced that enough safeguards are in place.

Jaggy’s Co-chair for IT Director is Baz Ceawlin, Andy’s Co-chair for Secretary/Co-chair is Story Long, Sutry’s Co-chair for Security Director is Jordan Anderson, Marge’s Co-chair for SP Treasurer is Jynxx Beebe. Karl, Jak, Hottie B (the board member formerly known as Hotboy) and Merrick are still looking for suitable candidates.

Snowball Fight at Southern Charm

Yesterday a bunch of friends and I modelled for a photo by my boyfriend Tomais Ashdene on the by now completely winterized Southern Charm.
From left to right you see my son Guyke, myself, Tom himself and my friends Butch and Dex.
