WTG Apmel

It´s a great joy to see that my friend and co-blogger Apmel Goosson´s blog "Min avatar heter Apmel" today hit the 600 000 visitors mark!

As you hopefully still remember that blog received the prestigious lifetime achievement award from The Bock McMillan Art Foundation (a part of the BMcM Corporation) the past weekend.

Way to go, Apmel, you are an example to us all!

In a communique issued this morning by The Bock McMillan Art Foundation (a part of the BMcM Corporation) it has been announced that the foundation has decided to honor the blog "Min avatar heter Apmel" ("My avatars name is Apmel") with "a lifetime achievement award for it´s dedicated work to spread information and knowledge about art, culture and philosophy in SecondLife to the culturally challenged residents of both the virtual and real worlds." 

The chairman of the foundation, The Much Honored Bock McMillan, Laird of Southern Charm, in an exclusive interview said: "It is true that Mr Lennart Nilsson, the primatar behind the hosts of Apmels swarming all over the virtual worlds of SecondLife, InWorldz etc. etc., is a dear friend to me and my sister Millimina, but that has nothing to do with this decision. The foundation simply wishes to recognize the blog for it´s worthwhile and dedicated work. He may sometimes be an enfant terrible but he always stays true to his character and his elected mission."

Happy Fourth Anniversary

Today we celebrate the fourth anniversary of the oldest Swedish blog still in existence "Min avatar heter Apmel".

The soul, the brain and the heart behind that blog is of course my bosom buddy and mentor Apmel Goosson. May there be many more years of blogging to come for you and "your relatives", Uncle Ib, Apmelina and Kludden.

P.S. I just checked and this blog celebrated it´s "real" first anniversary on January 12th, 2011, it was founded earlier but the first real blog post was on that day. So now you know what all we Swedes do in a New Year, we start a blog!

Hmmm the other two celebrating blogs chose a slogan for the coming year, I guess I should do so also! Mine will be "Let´s live, love and party!"

Happy Birthday Apmels!

Today is the birthday of Lennart Nilsson, the real man behind the avatars Apmel Goosson, Uncle Ib. Apmelina, Robotina and last (as far as I know) - but in no way least - the-soon-to-be-sexy-just give-him-a-few-more- years Apmel Meerson also lovingly known as "Kludden" to his fans.

Collectively this gang of avatars are called the Apmels of Solace Island, well by me atleast.

Apmel has the longest standing Swedish blog about SecondLife, Min avatar heter Apmel (My avatars name is Apmel). It is a rich source of the more artistic, cultural and intellectual aspects of this world we all love so much.

Best wishes on your birthday Lennart and may you have many more to follow!

Ma Che Bella Serata

Ohhhhhhhhh what a wonderful evening anf night I had yesterday...

It started off with the 200th anniversary of "The Coffee & Pajamas Jazz Show with Elfay Pinkdot" at the beautiful "Circe´s Sunset Jazz Club". Elfay was inspired, the guests were intoxicated by her charming chat and the awesome music. If you missed it you really need to revise your priorities!

We actually started planning for the 300th show celebration in 2012, when someone said that that was the year the world would end according to some prophecy. Let me tell you now - if that propecy should be true - I know no better place to meet that end it than in the company of my darling Millimina, Elfay, Circe and listening to jazz!

After a brief nap - I am a bit tired these days, not really sure why - I loged in to a swimsuit party at Fride´s Beach. The music there was funkilicious and supplied by a great DJ melqt (pronounced Mel-Cutie I learned) Tennenbaum. As always at Mid´s parties, people were pleasant and all possibilities of drama dealt with in a charming way. Alas I was too tired to remember to take any pictures, but let me tell you two of the Apmels where there!

The youngest one is starting to look great - he may have started to work out - give him a few years and hearts will be broken left and right...

From there I moved along to the party at Club Erotes - The Den the wonderful aussie club and one of the friendliest clubs in Second Life. DJ Butch Diavalo entranced us all. I had managed to drag the sweet Adrina Welders out of her shoe-shop and after some convincing hauled Millimina over there too. The guys were all so funny and chatty I forgot to take pictures again..

My great evening ended at "The Week-End Club" where my darling BIL ("brother-in-law") DJ Andrey Messmer entertained some of the hunkiest guys in SL, with the help of his friend and host Ciroc.

This time I remembered to take pictures again, would you believe it... Look at my BIL after his recent makeover, isn´t he a perfect specimen of an edible hunk?

När jag igår kväll luftade mitt desperata behov av nya bilder för detta freds- och konstprojekt fick jag omedelbar respons från den underbara Wizanna Hax.

Eftersom Wiz redan har deltagit med bilder på sin huvudsakliga avatar (ibland även kallad "main") skickade hon bilder på sin "alt", den ljuvliga Pandora Arai i en sagolikt vacker iscensättning.

En "alt" är en alternativ avatar som av mycket olika anledningar skapas när man inte tycker att det räcker med den första avatar man har skapat för att uttrycka sig själv och olika sidor av sin personlighet i SL. Vi har tidigare sett oerhört goda och kreativa exempel då detta genom de väldigt publika "Apmellarna", som ju är en hel liten familj av alts.

Eftersom jag redan har visat er de övriga "Apmellarna" får ni nu träffa även "Farbror Ib". För gammalt folk är ju tid något relativt, så trots att det nu redan är försommar får ni en vintrig bild.

Här ser ni Farbror Ib ridandes en dalahäst, det skall tydligtvis vara en välkänd jultradition i de nordligare i vårt avlånga land.

"Kludden" är ännu en av den välkända Apmel-familjen och den absolut sötaste om ni frågar mig -. fast det räknar jag inte med att ni heterofiler gör....

Här nedan ser ni en halvnaken Kludden. Detta tillåter jag endast eftersom han är under 20 år och för att han dessutom har meddelat att han i dag firar "Towel Day" till minnet av den brittiske författaren Douglas Adams som skrev "Liftarens guide till galaxen"

Från "Towel Days" hemsida: "Douglas Adams, best known as the author of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, died of a heart attack at age 49 on 11 May 2001. He was cremated in Santa Barbara (USA) and his ashes are buried in London (UK).

His fans wanted to organize some kind of wake in his honor. Because some time was needed to get the word out, Towel Day was organized two weeks after his death, on 25 May 2001. After its initial success it became an annual event."
