There has been some talk about witches lately, so I googled for a test...and actually found one!

Listen to the two trial lawyers - one conservative and one liberal - that united forces to overturn California´s Proposition 8 ballot measure outlawing same-sex marriage talk about the case and what they want to achieve. Once adversaries in 2000's Bush v. Gore Supreme Court case, now two of the United States´ premier lawyers have teamed up to make the constitutional case for same-sex marriage.

This is a fifty minutes long but extremely interesting interview by Bill Moyers in his program "Bill Moyers Journal".

Happy 1st anniversary Jeb & Shayne

Ars brother Jeb Nicholls and his charming partner Shayne Turbo celebrated their first wedding anniversary yesterday by throwing a huge party. The theme was "Gods of Love and Monsters".

The music was provided by DJ Hotboy and the party venue was soon filled with almost all the hottest men that Second Life can provide, with the possible and obvious exception of the hunkalicious Jesper Prinz and two other guys that I will not name here.

Jebs brother Dejerrity Mycron, this evening dressed as an automaton, held the sweetest toast for the happy couple. I am sure that Jeb was in tears when he heard it, the big, rough but oh so sweet mush. I was alas too tired to remember to copy it for your benefit, but instead I give you a few pictures from the party.

The party started late from a European point of view, so I stayed only for an hour before my friday coma set in, but I am convinced the party went on long into the American night. It was the best Friday the 13th I have ever had!

I wish you all the best for the future, Jeb and Shayne, and may you have many more anniversaries to come! Love you both, guys!

Rättelse och ursäkt till "Dagny"

Jag vill med detta rikta er uppmärksamhet på den kommentarer jag idag har gjort på mitt inlägg om "Vem skapar drama?"

Jag ber där även "Dagny" om ursäkt för missförstånd och felaktighet.

Vaughn R. Walker gör det igen

Idag meddelade Vaughn R. Walker, chefsdomare i the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, ett beslut som innebär att samkönade äktenskap åter kan börja ingås i delstaten Kalifornien, USA.

Som jag tidigare har berättat så har samme domare nyligen upphävt det beslut som förbjuder samkönade äktenskap som fattats genom en folkomröstning i Kalifornien ("Prosition 8")

I anslutning till att han meddelade det beslutet meddelade han dock också ett interimistiskt beslut som innebar att samkönade äktenskap ändå inte fick ingås förrän slutligt beslut hade meddelats.

Idag har han dock beslutat att lyfta förbudet, vilket innebär att från och med den 18 augusti 2010 får bögar och lesbianer åter gifta sig i Kalifornien!

Way to go, California! ...men nu fortsätter säkerligen denna tvist i överdomstolarna...

Mexico tar ett steg framåt

Hos "Eddi Haskell´s Second Life" och "Joe. My. God" påminns jag om en händelse jag hade tänkt redovisa här, men tyvärr glömt bort.

På DN.se läste jag nyligen följande glädjande notis.

"Homoäktenskapen kvar i Mexico City

Mexikos högsta domstol slår fast att lagen som tillåter äktenskap mellan homosexuella i Mexico City inte strider mot författningen vilket president Felipe Calderons konservativa regering gör gällande.

Mexico Citys vänsterstyre blev i december förra året först i Latinamerika med att tillåta äktenskap mellan människor av samma kön. Så fort lagen trädde i kraft gick regeringen till federal domstol för att få den upphävd, med motiveringen att den är författningsstridig eftersom den förstör familjen.

Domstolen röstade 8-2 i den nya lagens favör och domaren Fernando Franco slog fast att "barnaavlande inte är en nödvändig beståndsdel i äktenskapet".

På måndag behandlar domstolen den del av lagen som tillåter homosexuella par att adoptera barn

300 samkönade par har gift sig i Mexikos huvudstad sedan lagen började gälla.

I slutet av juli fick också Argentina en lag som tillåter äktenskap mellan homosexuella."

Beslutet innebär att samtliga övriga stater i federationen Mexico tvingas acceptera de samkönade äktenskap som har ingåtts i Mexico City.

P.S. För övrigt anser jag att rubriksättaren bör få löneavdrag för sitt töntiga val av ordet "homoäktenskap"

Woodstock Festival in Swedish SL

The Woodstock Festival was a music festival, billed as "An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music", held at Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm near the hamlet of White Lake in the town of Bethel, New York, from August 15 to August 18, 1969.

During the sometimes rainy weekend, thirty-two acts performed outdoors in front of 500,000 concert-goers. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most pivotal moments in popular music history and was listed among Rolling Stone's 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll.

In memory of that historical event a few Swedish clubs in Second Life have joined forces and throw a five day long party on different venues.
