Mauro again

I am sleepless and listening to this.

Its been a good day for me in both my lives so why I suddenly cannot sleep is a mystery to me. But listening to Mauro Scocco always makes me feel even better so...

P.S. Mauro reminded me of what possibly caused my temporary sleeplessness. Just before I went to bed I read a blog that I don´t read very often these days but I happened to see the link on another blog. Reading it disturbed me a lot. This blogger is continuing his usual rantings and bullying againt any person who has dared stand up against him or simply just doesn´t agree with him.

I feel sorry for him! His life seems to be driven by hatred, contempt and selfpity.

Down and Out Blues

The Cotton Club Orchestra, 1925, it doesn´t get better than this.

The Tabloids Do It Again

Let me start by declaring firmly that I am a fervent supporter of the freedom of the press. I wholeheartedly believe that it is an essential and fundamental part of any democratic society. I am not going to propose any changes in the strong Swedish "Freedom of Press Act", which is one of our constitutional laws.

However I cannot help getting totally annoyed, irritated and filled with disgust when I see the gutter press again interfering with an ongoing police investigation.

The two largest tabloids in Sweden have today published the name and image of the man suspected to be the Malmö gunman thus to some extent sabotaging the investigation.

As usual both say this was done in the "public interest", which gets to be a lamer excuse everytime they use it but especially in this case where the suspect is a socially isolated and possibly mentaly disabled person.

The newspapers' editorial boards have become more or less like street courts. They seem falsely motivated by the belief that they are better investigators, prosecutors or judges than those hired by the judicial system. Meanwhile what they really are doing is muddying the waters and obstructing justice through their tampering with witnesses.

We need a press that takes it responsibilities seriously and understand that the freedom given to them must be tempered with some measure of common sense and good judgement.

No Inspiration

Well I am in a rut today and have found nothing that filled me with enough passion, happiness, sorrow, rage or disgust that I want to blog about it.

Two good things happened today tho.

1. I took the day off from work and took my old car to the mandatory Swedish motor vehicle inspection. My car - who is named "Sylvie" because she is French and charming - passed the tests with flying colors as always. As usual the guys at the testing station nodded towards me and both of them told me: "This is a great car!" (And yes, she is a "who" not an "it")

2. I refound the wonderful photography of Gary Hamburgh, an old favorite as my regulars already know, while surfing for inspiration. Enjoy!

strum Diesel at Zeus Gay Club

I just don´t know whom to admire most. The amazing strum Diesel, for doing one of his best gigs ever, or his devoted husband Stirred Diesel, for actually getting the man up on his feet and singing at a time when strum is usually sleeping like a dead stone.

Well I think I will settle with saying that through their joint collaboration they gave us Europeans an unforgetable show.

strum is the greenhaired singer/songwriter who has gathered a huge fan group over the last year. I started going to his gigs shortly before my Ars passed away. For a long while after Ars´ passing his gigs were the only thing that could get me off the homesim.

strum´s voice was better than ever and he actually seemed to be in an excellent mood, which could possibly be explained by all the love and support that poured to him from an adoring and entranced audience.

We all loved him and had a great time being there with him and each other! When strum sang his love song to Stirred I am sure we all wished he was singing it for us. I for one had tears running down my cheeks, and I am sure I wasn´t alone!

Thank you strum and Stirred both, for an amazing experience!

Well, Someone Heard You...

Teenage Dream

Sweet, but I still don´t ever want to be 18 again! I am so happy to be 40 and have all that behind me.

No more falling in love, being in love or sex and all that crap.  All I have to worry about now is food, doctors appointments, fresh air and lots of exercise. Duhhh well not just quite yet, I´ll start thinking about all that when I am about 95 or over...

This is a scene from the American television series "Glee", Darren Criss sings acapella to Chris Colfer.

Sony blocked this video on YouTube, but I found it again at GleeonFox. Bite me Sony!
