JOY - a sneak preview

I am going to tell you more about this event later today, but there is really only a few things you need to know.

Mark the date and time in your calendar, be there, be there in time, bring your wallet along and have fun!

And for the love of Rod Humble, aka Rodvik Linden, don´t complain about lag in local, it´s so boring and the rest of us are already dealing with it on our own. If you really, really, really need to verbalize your frustration write a note card about it and send it to yourself or one of your alts.

"JOY" is brought to you through a joint venture between "Ventura Arte & Jardin" and "The Bock McMillan Art Foundation (a part of the BMcM Corporation)"

O Holy Night sung by Jussi

Well, I am not a believer but I do appreciate a great singer doing his thing well, so I hope you enjoy Jussi Björling singing "O holy night"

O, HELGA NATT (O holy night)
Lyrics: Augustin Kock
Music: Adolphe Adam

O, helga natt, o, helga stund för världen,
då Gudamänskan till jorden steg ned!
För att försona världens brott och synder,
för oss han dödens smärta led.
Och hoppets stråle går igenom världen
och ljuset skimrar över land och hav.

Chorus;
Folk!

Chorus;
Folk! Fall nu neder
och hälsa glatt din frihet.
O, helga natt, du frälsning åt oss gav.
O, helga natt, du frälsning åt oss gav.

Welcome To My World, Rod!

On December 23rd, 2010, Rod Humble was announced to become the new CEO of Linden Lab, the makers of  SecondLife. He is to lead the company’s strategy and the development of SecondLife.

Rod (born 1 June 1964) has a 20-year career in the game development industry which has included work on more than 200 games.

He joined Linden Lab from Electronic Arts, where, in his role as Executive Vice President, he led the EA Play label, which includes the best-selling PC game franchise of all time, The Sims. In 2009, he was ranked #2 on the annual list of the Hot 100 Game Developers from gaming publication Edge. Prior to his work at Electronic Arts, Humble served as Vice President of Product Development at Sony Online Entertainment for the massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) EverQuest.

Read more about Rod here "New World Notes" and see him talk about his view on "toys not games". I think he may be a good thing for us in SecondLife.

Welcome to my world, Rod, I hope to learn to know and love you!

Don´t piss in my pool or muddy the waters and give me 50 groups and I am sure we will get along handsomely.

Faye Dunaway in a scene from the movie "Mommie Dearest. The story of Joan Crawford", 1981

My son Guyke made a hilarious gesture out of a line from this scene. Come to think of it, he did make another Joan Crawford gesture also, but I cannot remember which scene that´s from right now...

Simple Truths

I accept the fact that my generalizations are not true to everyone, everywhere or all the time but they sure do simplify my outlook on life sometimes.

So here come five pillars of truth in "life according to Bock" right now.

1. No one, abso-f***ing-lutely no one, makes better Swedish meatballs than my mother.
2. Norwegian men are the sexiest looking and most charming guys in the whole wide world, closely followed by Latinos, Poles, Hungarians and Persians.

(Yeah, I realize I am being a bit ethnocentric here. If you think I should add your nationality, make an appointment and try to convince me...)

3. Snow is a bloody nuisance and should only be allowed on postcards from the Alps.

4. People who speak Portuguese should switch to Spanish so the rest of the world can understand them.

(This one is just to tease my B-I-L a little...)
5. Women who are preschool teachers and registered nurses always think they know best.

Language Tracking 2

Well my brother-in-law Andrey will be happy for this, finally Portuguese shows up among my readers languages even if it only is a 1 percent share!
