The Second Pride Rebuilding Project

After the Second Pride board meeting yesterday, which was calm and uneventful, those present were invited to a tour around the building site by the interim Build Director Jak Calcutt and his handyman Karl Kalchek, the Community Relations Director.
Thanking the genius while his husband jealously looks on
I was so impressed by what I saw on the tour that I later insisted on taking Butch and Dej back with me to take another look. (Do not expect any revealing pictures of the amazing buildings in this post because I have promised myself not to do that until the project is closer to being accomplished.)

Although I fully sympathize with and understand Karl's difficult position as overseer, source of inspiration and menial handyman to the brilliant builder during this harrowing process (as I had much the same role during the recent rebuilding of my own palatial mansion) I cannot help but falling in love a little with the brilliant and truly humble genius of Jak.

Everything he does is extremely well thought through and inspired to be an even more beautiful and more functional new home for Second Pride itself and the non-profit organizations that are also housed there. I am so looking forward to seeing and showing you the result when the time comes.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank Jak and Karl again for their patience and for taking me, Dej and Butch on a new tour so soon after the first one.

Celebrating Marcus Steeplechase

On Monday September 23, 2013, at 7-9PM SLT, the first life birthday of Marcus Steeplechase will be celebrated with a two hour Special Cabaret Night in his honor.

The Marduk Theater has been put up again and you are invited to spend an evening with Marcus' friends and family to celebrate his life.
Marcus Steeplechase
★ October 20, 2006  -  August 3 , 2013
Marcus was a friend and mentor to many in SecondLife and made friends easily. He was involved in many things and in his community. Marcus was also the co-owner of The Ironworks sim and club. One of Marcus' passions was theater and putting on Cabaret Evenings. The organizers have put together some of his favorite musical numbers and brought together some of his close friends to perform for you.

Take me to The Marduk Theater! (SLurl)

In October the Ironworks Club will be brought back and there will be a weeklong block of parties to celebrate the life and times of Marcus in SecondLife on the week of his rezday.

The organizers are looking forward to seeing you then as well. Look for future announcements!
---

The organizers have also informed me, that if you cannot attend the celebration, and wish to have something said or make a dedication you can send a note card to Sasch Petrov. Sasch will then read it on air for you.

Pair of Photos - A Photography Exhibition

When my ex-wife Iendi Laville, after the tragic annulment of our marriage, moved on to straight men she happened to stumble over the gorgeous Holy Archer (but only after I had pointed him out for her - or so I like to tell them both). It was a match made in the SecondLife heavens and the two are one of the loveliest couples I know.

They soon discovered that they both had a passion for photography in first life. When they compared their individual pictures they found some striking similarities between their works and as they looked further and deeper they found even more. The coupled photography of their combined work will now be exhibited together at Aake Roffo's art gallery on the Yadkin sim (SLurl).

The exhibition opens tomorrow, Monday September 23, 2013, at 12:00PM SLT, and continues until the end of October.

All the photography can be bought for 0 (zero) L$, but any contribution to the Relay For Life kiosk at the gallery is encouraged and welcomed.

Final Glimpse of Bocquerelle

While I was in the process of transforming from the radiant Bocquerelle to dull old Bock I just couldn't resist taking a final shot of myself in my Prestige Boots from Bax.

Just look at those gorgeous legs in the well fitting boots! I would like to thank the extremely pleasant, humorous and competent shop assistant Peace at the Bax Main Store for her invaluable assistance in fitting them.

Life Is A Cabaret @ Spinners

Yesterday I gave ya'll the prologue, well parts of it, because I said nothing about the many, many hours I spent shaving my face and every nook and cranny of my body. In some hard-to-reach places I even had to beg for assistance by an unnamed hair-remover. But let's forget about those traumatic moments now, suffice it to say that it takes some pain to be pretty.

Guykita, Butchette and the radiant Bocquerelle arrived to the venue on the specified time only to find that we were the only three in full drag, well except for Andy Long and his beautiful husbands, Story and Sutry. Not only that but - to add disaster to discomfort - it turned out there was an alpha layer on the ballroom floor that made Butchette's and my amazing gowns from Paris Metro disappear. "Alpha on alpha, just doesn't work, as every noob knows!", said Butchette (or something to that effect) as we moved on to the stage (which was non-alpha).

Isn't it amazing what can be accomplished with highlights and lowlights? Just look at Butchette's wonderful bosom, who would think that if you saw him from the side he was as flat chested as he always is.

Poor little Pieni, was threatened by Butchette to be skinned and made into shoes. Brave little Pieni was not frightened by the bully because - as I was told later - "Lol he wuld have been in real trouble then. I has sharp teethies and twelve protective uncles. AND aunties and cousins. Hehe".

After a grueling two hour period eventually more and more people started showing up in the requested attire, although some were still not confident enough.

Ms. Regina Yifu (in a creation she made herself) joined Butchette and me in a dance
Andy Long, the second DJ of the evening, surrounded by wives and a sister
We even had the pleasure of being joined by the renowned SecondLife
performance artist SaveMe Oh for a while (before she was kicked out
for creating lag with her sheep and meadows rezzed all over the ballroom)

A dazzling beauty whose name I am afraid I have forgotten.
I am not even sure if she was in drag or is a woman.

Before Spinners Drag Party

I and Butch had been preparing for this event for two days, while Guyke was away in first life and taking it easy because he already had everything he needed in his massive Inventory. It was no wonder the two of us were a bit exhausted and put our feet up a little before the party as we had been running around in our high heels for several hours.

Butchette takes the weight off her heels
Guykita arrives, all refreshed and ready to party
I will post more pictures from the actual party tomorrow and will then also tell you everything about who was there and who won the "Best in Drag" contest.

Oh Well...

Here I am dancing in "high drag" at Spinners since 12PM SLT, while everyone else is waiting for that part of the event to start at 4PM SLT. It seems I misunderstood something...
Oh well, I look fabulous anyway.
