Dem Bones, Dem Bones!

In the 3rd year of the almighty, wonderful and charming Ebbe Altberg (a k a Ebbe Linden), CEO of Linden Lab, the creative gods at the lab have - in close cooperation and collaboration with SecondLife content creators - achieved the revolutionary Bento Skeleton.

Both Linden Lab and Firestorm have now released viewers that are Bento compatible.

Bento is an extension of the SecondLife avatar skeleton whereby we get dozens of new bones to support rigging and animation and new attachment points.
The new skeleton, which is compatible with existing avatars, rigging and animation, gives creators the power to build more sophisticated avatars than ever before. The skeleton extensions include:
  • 11 extra limb bones for wings, additional arms, or extra legs.
  • 6 tail bones
  • 30 bones in the hands (all 10 fingers!)
  • 30 bones for facial expressions
  • 2 other new bones in the head for animating ears or antennae
  • 13 new attachment points associated with the new bones
What all this means is simply that our wonderful SecondLife content creators have gotten more and better tools to make things look, move and appear better and a greater range of customization to your own preferences and individuality.

My Man

This morning Tomais and I had a nice talk with Garrett & Kahvy up at The Northmead Gallery.

While we were talking I unpacked the two new arm chairs (one with pattern textures and the other with solids) by Apple Fall that I had bought yesterday.

As I was checking out the textures of the patterned chair, Tomais jumped into it to try out the animations. He looked so absolutely beautiful so I decided to snap a few shots.

I am a truly fortunate man to have such a handsome, intelligent, charming, lovable and extremely patient husband.

Safe In My Hands - Eli Lieb

(via J.M.G.)

Eli Lieb sings his song in a commercial for an auto insurance company. I couldn't find the full song anywhere yet and this animated version is really cool. Enjoy!

Relaxing

Early evening yesterday I had some time to myself, it was great! And when I found this animation on one of my new couches it felt even better. After having watched myself relaxing in-world for a few minutes I could start feeling that my first life body was starting to relieve itself of some of the tension that had been building up during the week.

Overall I feel better at the moment than I have felt for more than 3,5 years. Everything is hunky dory, except that I have come to the conclusion that I am in fact scared of sex for some reason. I am not certain what about it that scares me really, its not like I haven't done it before.

Shopping For Bathroomware

When I came in-world today my decoration consultant Butch Diavolo told me I was late and why was not looking at furniture where he had told me to look. The fact that he had told me so 15 seconds earlier, was not considered an acceptable excuse.

So I got out of my bandages from last night party and into my building clothes and mindset (which took me close to 30 seconds) and hurried out to the store while profusely asking him to forgive me for my tardiness and promising that it would never happen again. Certain gay interior decorators, and mine is one of them,  are extremely touchy and you need to know when to shut up and just accept the abuse they are hurling at you!
We looked at and bought - among other things - bathroomware. Of course we had to try the animations out first, so I forced an unwilling Butch to join me whenever it was necessary.
We did not find an acceptable commode yet, so I must ask Ziggy to secretly check-up and report to me who made the one that Guykechen has in his home.

Iris Maskelyne
The awesome creators name is Iris Maskelyne and her store is DIGS - Furniture & Prefabs and is located in Terra Felix (SLurl).

I also bought a wonderful creative kitchen table, a day bead, five kitchen chairs, a lovers rug, two other chairs and some lighting appliances from DIGS. Iris also, at my request, supplied me with new versions of the bathtub and a bathroom cabinet with ash bases.

I completely love Iris, for being so wonderfully creative and giving me speedy and kind customer service!

Kitchens & Bathrooms in SecondLife

Ever since I arrived in SecondLife I have been wondering about all the kitchens and bathrooms we see in-world, when we never really use them for much. Obviously we do not eat, drink, wash, crap or pee in our virtual homes, so why do we let these useless rooms take up space and prims to the extent that we do?

I was reminded about my early fascination on this subject, when I saw my son in-law and friend Ziggy's beautiful picture. The only valid excuses for having bathrooms that I can think of are the many wonderful "sex-in-the-shower/bathtub" animation scenes I have seen.

But what about the kitchens? As far as I can recall I have not seen any sex-animation scenes centered around that particular space in our SecondLife homes.

Considering the many wonderful moments I have spent in the kitchen in first life getting slammed against the kitchen cabinets, thrown on to or over a kitchen table, a sink or a kitchen counter or even rolling around the floor, it is rather amazing that it has not been resulted in any sex-animations. Surely I cannot be alone with these sweet memories, can I?

My old buddy Kip Ashbourne and his husband Chaz Longstaff over at Blue Balls Animations really should start working on this pretty darn soon, in my opinion they could make a fortune or two by catering to this forgotten room. But then again, it may just be that I haven't done a proper market research. There may very well be sex- animations for this room, I just haven't come across them yet.
