Are Centaurs Extinct? (Updated Landmark to New Store)

The answer to the question in the title is, of course, a resounding "Hell no!".

Despite what you may have been taught, centaurs are not creatures of fable or mythology. Neither did the race die out entirely when their mares left them to wander off and die lonely deaths on the plains of Central Asia.
The story of how the species was saved and survived to this day through heroic efforts by the first laird and his wife is a living legend within clan McMillan.

The first laird Callum and his spouse the goddess-witch Minerva came across the last three living centaurs during their travels in Asia Minor. They were in a pitiful state after a long life of ribaldry, whoring and worse.

With the skilled ministrations of Minerva, the centaurs were brought back to health and were offered a safe haven in the laird's clan, who at the time lived in the Scottish Highlands.

Over time there was intermarriage between the species and the McMillan clan became the renowned shapeshifters they are today. (Clan McMillan and their distant relations the Ashdene family are among the last remaining shapeshifters still among us.) To this day they choose at will in which manner they wish to present themselves.

Comfortable In One's Avatar

Many in SecondLife find it both rewarding and pleasing to constantly play with their avatars appearances, I am quite the opposite. I have an urge - a basic need - to find an appearance that I feel comfortable in. Once I have found it, I only make minor adjustments, like getting a new haircut, from time to time.

After the first two years of experimentation I had found a look I was comfortable in for five wonderul years, And then came The Mesh Revolution and the ground opened up beneath me and I was thrown into the bottomless pit of doubt. I started out kicking and screaming and denying I wanted anything to do with mesh - ever!

Why should I change my body to fit into mesh-clothes? "Clothes should fit people not the other way around!"

Well, I was convinced about the benefits of mesh-clothing by a friend I had at the time. Then came the mesh-bodies and heads and everything other mesh, and then on top of all that Bento... *sigh* *vomit*  *weep* *kick* *scream* *yell*

The mesh revolution in SecondLife has really been overwhelming, challenging and difficult for me, despite a bit of fun along the way. I have tried out mesh-bodies, mesh-heads, faces, hands and other appendages (Yes, I do mean mesh-dicks!). Some were awful (like my TMP head & face) others have felt better, but still not quite like me - or rather how I want to project myself - until just about a week ago.

With a new face, new eyes, new eyebrows a semi-new haircut and a bit of fiddling with the settings of my Signature Gianni mesh-body (under the helpful and supportive supervision of my brother JJ Goodman) it finally came together.

I am finally comfortable in my avatars appearance again, and you will probably not see any major changes for the next couple of years. Hopefully there is no new revolution for awhile at least!

A Silver Daddy Is Born

Mark this day in your calendars, readers, because today hell froze over!

Today my much, much, much, older brother Dejerrity Mycron took a giant leap and moved from 2006 to 2017 in a matter of a few hours with a big smile on his face.

SecondLife has finally and at long last achieved a Meshified Dej. He has acquired a Signature Gianni Mesh body and a Catwa Daniel Bento mesh head.
Now doesn't he look simply adorable, even if we just started? Give him a little more time and he will find his new look and the young men in SL will be drooling in his trail. (On the wall over the fireplace you see a portrait of my sweet brother as he has looked since 2006 until today.)

All For A Wailing Kitten

Ever since I introduced ya'll to my new appearance with my Bento mesh head from Catwa, there have been repeated, very loud and disgruntled wailings coming from a certain young cat.
He's claimed that my new look is too strict, severe and even goes so far as to call it "evil-looking". Well, we can have none of that, because as you all know I am an absolute hug-whore and he refuses to hug me.
With the assistance of my loving husband Tomais and my trusted brother JJ, I have yet again update my appearances. There will be no more modifications for a while, so deal with this Nikolai!.

My Husband - New, Improved & Updated

"Tomais" by Tomais Ashdene
It's amazing really, how we as residents of SecondLife can update our appearances with the latest developments by Linden Lab and the content creators.

Following the introduction of mesh a few years ago, most of us got new mesh bodies and some even got mesh heads.

After the launch of Bento recently, my Tomais and I waited eagerly for the release of the Bento enabled Catwa head.

Although Tomais has been playing around with other mesh heads, I was still skeptical and holding back. (I'm not as willing as others to change my appearances radically.)

The picture shows my husband's new look with the Catwa head. Not that he wasn't good looking before, but now he is definitely both divine and mouthwatering!

Bock 3.0

This is the first draft of the new Bock (Bock 3.0) in my new reshaped Catwa Bento mesh head and with my latest hair.

For comparison I am posting a picture of me in my old hair with the Catwa Bento head.

I may need to do some more work on the eyes, brows and lips but so far I am rather pleased with the results.

2016

I will not miss you, 2016, you were a horrendous and worthless year with only a few redeeming qualities.
I will not delve into all shit you caused, but I will drop a few names. Donald J. Trump, Vladimir "Little Father" Putin, Bashar Al-Assad, Julian Assange and, last but not least, Aleppo.

Among the few redeeming factors were Tomais, Dej, JJ, Pook, Kevin (previously known as Knox) and the Smith Boys, Kahvy and Garrett. I must also add Ebbe Linden and Bento and the welcome extra prims.

Let us all hope - and join forces - to fight for a better 2017!

Dem Bones, Dem Bones!

In the 3rd year of the almighty, wonderful and charming Ebbe Altberg (a k a Ebbe Linden), CEO of Linden Lab, the creative gods at the lab have - in close cooperation and collaboration with SecondLife content creators - achieved the revolutionary Bento Skeleton.

Both Linden Lab and Firestorm have now released viewers that are Bento compatible.

Bento is an extension of the SecondLife avatar skeleton whereby we get dozens of new bones to support rigging and animation and new attachment points.
The new skeleton, which is compatible with existing avatars, rigging and animation, gives creators the power to build more sophisticated avatars than ever before. The skeleton extensions include:
  • 11 extra limb bones for wings, additional arms, or extra legs.
  • 6 tail bones
  • 30 bones in the hands (all 10 fingers!)
  • 30 bones for facial expressions
  • 2 other new bones in the head for animating ears or antennae
  • 13 new attachment points associated with the new bones
What all this means is simply that our wonderful SecondLife content creators have gotten more and better tools to make things look, move and appear better and a greater range of customization to your own preferences and individuality.
