Get a Bock of your own
"Bock" is the Swedish word for a billy-goat or a stud. For generations it has also been a tradition to make "bocks" of hay for Christmas, usually wrapped in red silk ties.
In SecondLife my dear friend Adrina Welders, owner and creator extraordinaire of "AW Design" in SecondLife, has taken this tradition a step further and beside the traditional bock creates "yule goats" of latex etc.
All four come in two different sizes.
To AW Design (main store), or to online shopping SecondLife Marketplace

It´s time for a Christmas Smorgasbord
I am logging into real life this evening for the joys of a traditional and overwhelming Christmas Smorgasbord at the exclusive Grand Hotel in my small hometown.
To eat a Swedish smörgåsbord (correct spelling even if I know those extra dots and circles confuse some of you.) there are ways to prepare for such an occasion. The trick seems to be to stretch your stomach to it´s limits during the day before going to the restaurants. This can supposedly be done in many ways, with water, porridge, popcorn and loads of nasty things.
During the meal you are should repeatedly take small breaks to rest a little and drink snaps. It is said that the alcohol helps you digest the food better.
The professional smorgasbord-eaters (the misers and the savers) read up on the day prices of every ingredient and only go though the expensive foods, leaving the breads, egghalves, potatoes, hams, eel, herrings, gravlax, brown, green and red cabbage, Swedish meatballs, "Jansson´s temptation" and small "prince" sausages to the amateurs like myself.
But we all have a great time and eat and drink for hours on end until we roll home after topping it all off with the desserts and sweets.
The next day we don´t even want to look at food or even think about it.
Wish me luck and pray for my survival!

"I Love My Troops" says Bock
Today there was another practice at the Swedish Embassy sims in SecondLife.
This blogger talked to generalissimo Bock McMillan immediately after the rehearsal had finished.
He was elated at the great progress his troops had shown and burst out as soon as he saw my press card, "I love my troops, every single one of them! Admittedly they are a group of chatterboxes but they are worth their weight in gold."
The general continues with a huge charming smile all over his handsome face, "Sure there is always a bit of a problem with the anti-authoritarian Mr. A. but he is so cute and talented I wouldn´t do this without him. And Miss Z, what can I say without starting to weep? Adorable, she is simply adorable! And all the rest of them from A to Z are the most talented group of avatars one can have the joy to work with."
Well people, if we can trust general McMillan, it seems we will be in for a treat on Sunday December 12th at 11 am or 1 pm SLT. This blogger certainly will not miss that event!
"And the voices, old chap, the angelic voices of both the men and the women ahhhh pure joy, unadulterated ecstasy...", I hear the general say to another Scandinavian blogger as I sneak away.
It was rumored that the competitors from other pageants in SecondLife had sent alts to get a sneak preview of what the Embassy Lucia pageant was up to, but seemingly the general had told his security to just observe these interlopers "Its a free world and we only kick off people who disturb the peace here! Let them watch and learn" as one of the security agents told me. "We could only wish other sims were not so fast to block out avatars for no clear reasons."

Sofia Talvik Debuts in SecondLife
![]() |
| Photo by Kirk Stauffer |
Having earned a reputation as a great live performer, she is frequently playing at clubs in and around Stockholm and throughout Sweden, this is naturally the only way of bringing Sofias gentle, almost fragile voice to you and gives the album a unique sound, making it almost timeless in the sense that it could have been recorded twenty years ago as well as twenty years from now.
2010 is the year when Sofia Talvik celebrates 5 years as an artist. At least if you count from when she released her first album. Since then she’s had air play all over the world, played huge festivals like the Lollapalooza and and established her name amongst the most interesting new singer/songwriters. With her new album ‘Florida’ we’ll get to see a new side of Sofia. Her delicate songs have gained more power and volume and she’s mixed her usual acoustic instrumentation with electric sounds and programmed beats.
On Thursday December 9th, 2010, at 1 pm SLT you can hear Sofia Talvik performing LIVE in SecondLife at OneLove Events. The amazing Swedish builder Aallotar Takaaki has built a special stage for this performance
All tips will go to ECPAT according to Sofias wishes.
Read an interview with Sofia before her SecondLife debut (in Swedish, but there is a Google thingamabob-translator) at "Tinas universum"
Take me to OneLove Events!
