Translator Added

In my continuous efforts to meet the wishes of my readers, I have today added a translator to the blog.

It is - and will always be - placed at the top of the left sidebar.

It's strange that I hadn't thought of adding a translator earlier, but it wasn't until a German friend told me today that he was sorry his English wasn't better so he could read my blog that I recognized the need for it.

Well better late than never! I hope it helps those of you who would want to use it, even if it is Google Translate with all its weaknesses it's still better than nothing. Google Translate supports over 100 languages at various levels, so hopefully, you will find your language in it.

DJ Butch's Final Set - For Now...

Yesterday my sweet friend Butch Diavolo informed all of us that he, for personal reasons, had decided to go on an indefinite hiatus from SecondLife.

Butch's s final set before the break was at Q Lounge yesterday and many of his fans and friends came there to thank him and to say "au revoir", all of us adamantly refusing to say goodbye to a beloved friend and DJ.

I have always found it extremely difficult to say farewell to someone who has meant much to me, someone who is close and that I care deeply about. Especially in SecondLife, where "taking a break" often enough seems to lead to quitting the virtual world altogether.

Of course I do not question Butch's decision. He is the only one fit to make it and I am sure that he has thought it through before coming to this conclusion, but I will miss him. Butch has always been extremely helpful, kind, caring, loving towards me, although I have gotten my fair share of his ever flowing sarcastic humor.

For now I am content with the reassurance that Butch is doing what he believes he must do and his promise to me that he will in fact attend The Elopement Party that I and Tomais are throwing on March 8th.

Ik vind je zeer veel en zal je missen, mijn vriend! Kom terug naar ons straks weer, wanneer je voelt dat je de energie. (Google Translated, so if it says I want your hot body pressed to mine, it is accurate!)

How rude!

Artistically enhanced
picture of Ms. Sex Toy
removed on her request.
Can you even imagine the Much Honored Bock McMillan, laird of Southern Charm and prince of Cascade Falls, being called "Mr. Bagpipe" by an Icelandic woman with the name "Sex Toy" (as directly translated from Icelandic by Google Translate)?

Well, it did indeed happen today, right after I had quite pleasantly told Ms. Sex Toy that we should do each other the courtesy of ignoring one another completely in the future.

Such brazen effrontery and insolent shamelessness is fortunately not ordinarily encountered in polite company in SecondLife - or anywhere for that matter.

Update: After being requested by Ms. Kynlif Leikfang (see comments to this post) and due consideration, I have decided to remove my artistically enhanced picture of her. You can now see her picture in the comments instead.

As for Ms. Kynlif Leikfang referring to me as "Lauslátir Maður", which she claims means "promiscuous man" in Icelandic, I can only say that in every language I know anything about Google Translate shows me these translations. As far as I can see they all translate into "Free from dead man".

My First Night With Feline

DJ Feline with the studelicious sidekick Shorty
Words are not enough to describe my first time with DJ Feline. It was great, wonderful, sublime, awesome and any other positive adjective you may want to throw in, but most of all it was utterly intense!
Butch grooving and moving
I am so grateful to my dear buddy Butch Diavolo for leading me to this source of pure bliss and sharing the experience with me at The Sanctuary yesterday. Dank je mijn lieve vriend, je hebt me erg gelukkig! ...or something to that effect, Google Translator is not always reliable as we all know...

My ex-missus and wife-for-a-day Iendi Laville and the "prima donna assoluta" of SecondLife my friend Ewa Aska joined us. Ewa had a toyboy in tow who was easy on the eyes but did not speak or respond to greeting or questioning.
We danced and had a good time until dawn came - as it must - even when you are in Trance heaven.

"Sane Enough"

Today the Swedish psychiatrist Johan Cullberg published a dissenting analysis of A.B.B. after listening to the 36 hours of tapes from the interviews of the Norwegian psychiatric team, DN Debatt -Breivik är tillräckligt frisk för att straffas"

"The 36 hours of interviews with Anders Breivik Behring reveals no indication that he is suffering or has suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. To absolve him from accountability and punishment due to mental disorder is offensive unprofessional and unimaginative (...)

Instead his symptoms indicate a malignant narcissistic personality disorder, or mixed - his megalomaniac notions are closely connected with his elaborate opinions. The terrorist acts are fully consistent with these. This the (Norwegian) investigators do not at all discuss.

None of the interviews reveal anything that could not have been said or done by an extreme political or religious fanatic. Breivik´s "manifesto" is reportedly fully legible, it lacks the verbal lockups and stereotyped phrases that a work of a schizophrenic person would have demonstrated. Probably he would have been accepted by a radical political terror cell. If he suffered from schizophrenia, it would have been much more difficult - he would have had difficulty to hide the bizarre and fragmented world that is always associated with that diagnosis.

Many might wish that such evil ideas and actions like Breivik´s, or for that matter those of Hitler or Stalin, must by definition be "sick". But then you use the concept of disease in an evaluative purpose. It is important that one does not believe that behaviors that we abhor or fear, and precisely for that reason think is abnormal should be classified as sick. Then we narrow our view of capacity for evil in the mentally healthy human as well as broaden the concept of mental disease to an impermissible extent."

Johan Cullberg concludes, "(The Norwegian psychiatrists) have not understood that this is a well thought out philosophy with a fully coherent criminal action."

The above was translated by Google Translate and corrected by me, I was too impatient to try to do it myself this time.

Cullberg raises the question I tried to raise a few days ago in my post Legally Insane, about where we draw the line between legal sanity and insanity. He does so from a similar starting point but with the added advantage of actually being a psychiatrist himself.

Egyptian Invasion

Lately I have had a lot of traffic to this blog from Egypt.

I couldn't understand why and perhaps still don´t, but this post Nakna Avatarer i SL 102 is what they come here for. They find it when they do a search for "ناكني في كسي", which according to my Google Translator means "Nakny in Wuxi" in English and "Nakny i Wuxi" in Swedish. The problem is that both of the translations are totally meaningless to me.

The post shows my friend Kicki Springflower posing for my art and peace project last year called "Naked avatars in SL" (Well as I was still writing in Swedish then so it was "Nakna avatarer i SL".)

Kicki was pregnant with her first avtatar child at the time but still graciously agreed to participate in my project.

Sofia Talvik Debuts in SecondLife

Sofia Talvik was born on an island just off the west coast of Sweden. Her debut album Blue Moon took forty intense hours to record and the end result is a collection of songs presented virtually intact from the original live studio sessions.

Having earned a reputation as a great live performer, she is frequently playing at clubs in and around Stockholm and throughout Sweden, this is naturally the only way of bringing Sofias gentle, almost fragile voice to you and gives the album a unique sound, making it almost timeless in the sense that it could have been recorded twenty years ago as well as twenty years from now.

2010 is the year when Sofia Talvik celebrates 5 years as an artist. At least if you count from when she released her first album. Since then she’s had air play all over the world, played huge festivals like the Lollapalooza and and established her name amongst the most interesting new singer/songwriters. With her new album ‘Florida’ we’ll get to see a new side of Sofia. Her delicate songs have gained more power and volume and she’s mixed her usual acoustic instrumentation with electric sounds and programmed beats.

On Thursday December 9th, 2010, at 1 pm SLT you can hear Sofia Talvik performing LIVE in SecondLife at OneLove Events. The amazing Swedish builder Aallotar Takaaki has built a special stage for this performance

All tips will go to ECPAT according to Sofias wishes.

Read an interview with Sofia before her SecondLife debut (in Swedish, but there is a Google thingamabob-translator) at "Tinas universum"
