Like Riding A Bicycle
Just a picture of a hot guy I once found on Torro Spyker's blog The Bullring |
I don't believe in that wisdom any more. The more I think about it, the more nervous I become. And - to be quite honest - I have started thinking about it a lot lately.
I of course remember the basics of bicycling. There is a handlebar that you steer with, two wheels (usually), a saddle, two pedals and a bell. You have to get your body on to the saddle and start moving the pedals to move ahead while keeping your balance. The momentum has to be enough not to keel over.
It's a bit more difficult with sex, because then you are dealing with a person and not an object. It is all about the interaction and not so much what to do but when it is the right moment for both of you to do it, what ever "it" happens to be, whether it is kissing, hugging, licking etc.
When I was around thirty years old I willed myself into celibacy for a whole year. The reason for this was that I felt I had wasted myself on too many meaningless and boring one night stands. I felt sordid and seedy and had lost all respect for myself and my body.
I made it through the year, even if it was a struggle. Sometimes - especially during the weekends - I would rub myself so raw and chafed that I could hardly walk normally from the pain. When the year had ended it was a great relief although it took me about two weeks to get my act together again.
This time we are talking about over three years of celibacy. I joke about it sometimes, but in many ways it is as if my virginity actually had grown back and I seem to have lost all my former confidence.

Thank You, Torro!
I read a book recommendation on my mate Torro Spyker´s blog The Bullring a few weeks ago. It was for the novel The Song of Achilles by the young American author Madeline Miller.
After reading Torro´s praise I immediately went to Amazon´s website and ordered the book. I got it a week ago but didn't start reading it until on Monday. And once I started I was captured by the wonderful story.
It is a rare experience for me these days to come across a novel that draws me in to the story in the way that this novel does. It is especially rare when I already know the basic story, in this case Homer´s renowned Iliad.
However, Madeline Miller succeeds in very convincingly recreating the ancient times when the Greek gods and demigods and the centaurs, amazons and sea-nymphs still walked on earth and interacted with humans. The novel depicts the lifelong love story of the hero of the Trojan wars Achilles and his lover Patroclus, from the time when they first meet as youths until their deaths and - believe it or not - even a bit after that.
Please don´t pay any attention to the publishers trying to stress how "sexy" it is - sex sells they say - but in this case it is a gross exaggeration. The sex in the novel is negligible and not at all as embarrassing as it sometime can be in bestsellers.
I thought the best way I could thank Torro for sharing this novel with me was to "pay it forward" and tell you all to read it.

The Bullring Comes to SP2012
On the fifth day of the Second Pride Festival The Bullring Club (url) came to Pride.
The Bullring is known mostly for it´s extremely handsome and macho patrons and today they came to Pride to party to the music of DJ Hotboy. The venue was bustling with testosterone, hairy legs and bodies and well developed muscles - with a few women in between.
DJ Hotboy was sweet enough to play a song in memory of my Ars and another SecondLife DJ who had passed away. Unfortunately the other DJ´s name escaped me. possibly because I was taken by surprise and touched.
For some reason or other I was in a foul mood so I didn't stay very long,

Mardi Gras at The Bullring
Although it was Fat Tuesday yesterday I was preparing for a peaceful evening at Southern Charm, perhaps some light gardening but nothing at all adventurous when I saw my friend missK calling us to a Mardi Gras party with DJ Hotboy at my co-blogger Torro Spyker´s club The Bullring.
I had never been to that club before so I thought to myself, "What the hell, the gardening can wait...". I threw off my shirt, threw on my beads and a mask and took the teleport.
When I arrived the small room was already filled by a few very good looking women and the hunkiest men in SecondLife, the pride of the gay community in our world. My fellow Swedes sometimes complain about my exaggerated height, but I believe I was the shortest man in the room this night.
Strangely enough there wasn´t much conversation going on although the room was packed so I am guessing it was all in IMs. The music was good and the sights were just fine too, so I stayed until it was time for bed and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Idea for Masquerade
I found this great picture of a hot man in an amazing and exotic outfit on my friend Torro Spyker´s blog The Bullring a good awhile ago.
If you wish to see more stunning outfits on hot men look here Magical World of Flondo!
Outfit by Flondo |
As Torro tells us in his post, "If you are planning a masquerade and you're in search of some exotic inspiration, there are few artists around today who deliver the oriental and the theatrical with anything like the flair (and kink!) of Flondo."
Next time I am going to a masquerade I will for sure try this look.

Complete List of Virtual World Blogs
Sven Idyll photographed by Sven Idyll |
He has now collected a list with more than a hundred links to active blogs. The list is sorted with the latest updated on top. If a blog isn't updated in six months it will be removed.
Only a few of the links are for fashion or event blogs as Sven thinks these blogs - although they have great layouts are mainly for commercial reasons - and he wants to focus on the blogs covering living in virtual worlds or the technical aspects. He is however considering to maybe create a special collection of links to the fashion blogs in the future.
I have added a gadget in the right column with a direct link to the list, click the image "Virtual Links" and it will take you straight there.
Sven says he will gratefully accept any hints of blogs he may have missed, so if you don´t find your blog in the list tell him about it!
My own tips to Sven on missing links are
Gay-Worlds News (http://www.gay-worldsnews.com/),
The Bullring (http://torrospyker.blogspot.com/) and
Second Pride (http://www.secondpride.com/)

Sex
I just read an excellent post by Torro Spyker on his blog The Bullring. The post "Talking Dirty" is about sex in SecondLife.
The subject of sex in SecondLife is rarely discussed among residents, at least to my knowledge. I am happy that Torro broke that taboo with his post today.
Having sex in SecondLife is mostly about sight and sound - and pushing those damned buttons. For someone like myself who also depends on touch, smell and taste to enjoy sex the experience is rather limited and usually not that thrilling. Except if the person I am having phone-, voice- or chat sex with can get my imagination racing with his words, images and the sound of his voice.
I always used to say that "my most erogenous zone is my mind, stimulate it and watch what happens...". And that has been the truth, but the problem for me has been that without the missing ingredients it becomes more difficult. Ars had a wonderful, sultry and sexy voice and was good with words, but still I think I may have been a disappointment to him in this area because I did not always get triggered.
When I was reading Torro´s post I realized that I haven´t had sex with another person in real life or SecondLife the last 16 months. To be quite honest I haven´t had much sex with myself either during that period. This insight really scares me. I am only 41 years old and cannot imagine myself doing without for the rest of my life.
Another thing that has worried me lately, since I started flirting again a few months ago, is that I will get a reputation of being a "cockteaser", because I actually do not have any will or intention at the moment to follow up on my flirting. I guess I should just tone it down several notches...
I ask your pardon for this unstructured post, I just had to get it out to start my thought process.

Vote Against Infant Circumcision
A truly inspired commercial for a man owning a circumcision clinic in the Philippines |
My own position on the issue, as I have said before, (so this is partly a repost) is that mass-circumcision of infant boys is genital mutilation and child abuse. Admittedly there are a few cases when it is warranted by medical reasons, but otherwise I cannot see any valid arguments for this procedure being performed on infants.
In my mind this surgery should only be performed with informed consent on adult men. I for one would hate to have my foreskin removed, just saying.
(And yes, I totally agree that female circumcision is much more invasive and a more important issue to fight against, as it leads to more problems for the women later in life and also deprives them of the possibility to fully enjoy sex.)
----
As I have said already in a comment on The Bullring: "My position is basically a Human Rights one and can be boiled down to this.
Leave the children's bodies alone, both boys and girls. Teach them healthy routines to clean up their genitals on a daily basis.
...all the rest is religion and culture screwing up with nature."
Now head on over to Eddi´s blog Eddi Haskell´s Second Life and tell us what your position is on this matter.
For me the only possible vote in this pole is "Yes", actually I would have preferred an option saying "Hell yes!"
