Avatar Hunk of the Year

Nah, I am not going to start copying Eddi Haskell´s wonderful series of "Avatar Hunk of the Day", but I had to find a suitable title for this post.

I stole, borrowed or quoted this wonderful picture of and by my buddy Ziggy Starsmith from his blog "Ziggy On The Edge Of Second Life". Every time I look at it I get in a good mood.

It reminds me a of a scene in the film "Cat Ballou" (1965) where Lee Marvin plays a gunman who is hired by Cat Ballou, played by Jane Fonda, when she is seeking revenge for her murdered father. Lee Marvin won an Oscar 1966 for Best Actor in a Leading Role.for his interpretation.

Exploring With Ziggy

Late yesterday I went exploring with Ziggy Starsmith in Second Norway.

We especially took a look at the new yacht club our mutual friend Drew Barnard had set up there for the purpose of gathering gay SecondLife sailors.

Read more about this club and the beautiful Second Norway sims in my buddy´s post Rainbow Sails Yacht Club and Second Norway...I Gasped!

The Splash Party with DJ Regi

After fiddling unsuccessfully with the settings on my viewer (Linden Lab´s Viewer 3) for about an hour and a half to get it to play Birdcage for me, I finally gave up.

At the end I reached so far that the viewer told me it was playing Media but I still could not see or hear anything. I know that it is way easier on the Firestorm viewer, because Media has a button of its own there, but that viewer is too heavy and slow for my purposes, and it´s overloaded with shit I do not need or want.

Searching for something else to do I saw that the Second Pride Splash Party was on, so I decided to go there with my music turned down very low - and I do not regret it because the place was filled with Ziggy Starsmith, Levi Ewing, Larz Kaz and a lot of other of SecondLife´s hunkiest male avatars and a few of the nicest female ones too, like Kharissa Indigo and Tootsie Nootan.

The motto for the party was "as bare as you dare, but no erections allowed" which, as I told Ziggy, was the first request I heard of that is actually easier to accomplish in SecondLife than in first life.

The Trannies Rebel at SP2012 (Updated)

Mr. Kip Ashbourne (21), a respected resident of SecondLife but now also a fashion icon.

Yesterday we had the reenactment and celebration of the trannies at Stonewall Inn standing up against harassment and telling the police that "enough is enough is enough", of course I missed it all when I crashed and my camera went on a strike.

At Apollon´s Jetty

Apollon Allen had a party at his jetty around midnight yesterday. I suspect I arrived just moments after there had been a kerfuffle when one of the guests had been bothered by another unusually rude guest. As I understand it Apollon solved it splendidly by kicking the offensive woman off the sim.

That is the only way to handle bullies and people who do not know how to behave in politely and keep their drama in Instant Message. Way to go Apollon!

As always at Apollon´s sets we were entertained by good, solid, feelgood music with a touch of nostalgia from the late 80´s and early 90´s, perfect for a late Friday evening just before the Friday coma sets in and you have to crawl to bed.

I invited my cute and adventurous buddy Ziggy Starsmith to join me and we had a few good dances and some good chat before he sent me to bed, after my typos began getting worse, with a good night kiss.

As I could not get my camera working the picture in this post has been "quoted, borrowed or stolen" from Ziggy´s post Ziggy On the Edge Of Second Life; Dancing The Night Away with Bock.... You can find more great pictures there, including the goodnight kiss.

Ziggy Speaks Up

Ziggy, looking studly as always, while preparing for battle with blind-TP offenders.
My buddy Ziggy Starsmith has never been one to hold back his opinions from fear or hesitation. The stud has now told us what he things about blind teleports in a post on his blog Ziggy On The Edge Of Second Life; Blind Teleport Offers... Blind TP´s

I could not agree more with what Ziggy tells us in that post. Those blind teleport´s are a damn nuisance and should be met with harsh rebuke - or worse - until the people doing it realize that their actions will have unwelcome consequences for them.

Reentry

Art work by Randi Strand
Mustering up to come back to my second life and blogging again after this strange week,

I started with a nap after work (which was supposed to last an hour but went on for five) and reading up on the other blogs.

As usual I started with the last updated blog on my blogroll and went down the list until I came to a blog post by my bosom buddy Apmel Goosson (Min avatar heter Apmel: Chatlog from the baddest LEA party ever!) which consisted of a complete log from local chat at some art event and consisted of 21 967 words.

After reading the ten first lines I decided that all was still well in the world and stopped reading. Even if my buddy had posted it for the purpose of future scientific research into the SecondLife art scene in 2012, it was asking a bit too much of me. I was again reminded why I have always detested reading chat logs.

Ziggy cruising a sexy toad,
the tongue, the tongue
Another buddy of mine, Ziggy Starsmith, has turned into a very cute and sexy pixie with the cloven hoofs of a bull. You can´t turn your back for a day until they shape shift on you.

More pictures of him can be found here; Ziggy On The Edge Of Second Life: Petite Mesh Avatars...I Am Hooked.

On some of the blogs I have also read that there has been an "unscheduled maintenance" of our wonderful world which has caused some disruption

Well, I just wanted to let you all know I am doing fine and on my way back again. See you tomorrow!

Just Because...

Photography by Ziggy Starsmith
This recent picture by my buddy Ziggy "the baddest bastard in the basket" Starsmith to me represents a lot of what SecondLife is actually about and the best part of it. I stole the picture from Ziggy´s blog "Ziggy On The Edge Of Second Life..."

We should always log into our SecondLife with an open mind, curiosity and a sense of adventure and a willingness to learn and to discover what is around the next corner. To meet new people and learn about them and from them and to share with them our own experience.

The picture also makes me think about two quotes by the venerable master Lao Tzu "A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving." and "This journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

Another thing I especially love about the picture is that I gave him the back-pack he is wearing. It is one that was made for the Bara Jonson Fan Gang group by Patrick Hufschmid Beaumont, the exceptional guitar-builder in first life and for awhile also in SecondLife.

Introducing the Exodus Viewer

My buddy Ziggy Starsmith shares some interesting viewer-experiences with us and introduces us to a new and exciting third party viewer. This viewer seems to be designed for maximum performance. I for one am looking forward to trying it out.

Read more about it on  Ziggy On The Edge Of Second Life: "The Exodus Viewer.... The New Viewer On The Block" (Url). Please don´t forget to see the video with the grungy but sexy Pesto Portland and his cute German accent.

Ziggy´s Pictures of Me Are Posted

Ziggy and I resting and talking after a good photo shoot
Ziggy is a perfect gentleman and a dedicated professional and he works damned fast. I thought I was safe for a few days but pictures from the photo shoot yesterday are already up on his blog "Ziggy On the Edge of Second Life".

If you should happen to see a little wood among all the trees my only excuses are that working with Ziggy is inspiring. He is very encouraging and supportive and was an absolutely perfect gentleman through it all.

To Ziggy´s pictures of Bock.

Hmmm I perhaps should warn you, You must be over 18 years old to look at them...

Photo Shoot with Ziggy

Today I did my photo shoot with Ziggy Starsmith, he has asked me for that awhile but we had some difficulty finding a good time slot.

It was great fun and Ziggy is a very kind and appreciative photographer. Although I must say I had good use of the little knowledge I have gained from seeing short parts of Top Model from time to time, "You gotta move your ass, gurl, move it!"

Look for the the pictures on Ziggy´s blog one of these days, "Ziggy on the edge of Second Life"! Here is a teaser for you all.
