Things Friends Do (Update)

I just had an exchange on Facebook that left me a bit confused afterwards.

There is also this corroborating thing, that I have always had a problem with sarcasm and irony. (Some say it is because I lack a sense of humor and always take things too seriously and at face value.)

Anyhow, during the exchange the name of the only person I have blocked in SecondLife and on Facebook was dropped into the conversation by the person whom I think of as a friend.

I am not yet certain of why and for what reason really, but right now I have a nagging feeling it was done deliberately and only to hurt me. But I don't understand why this particular person would want to do that. I was also too surprised to confront him at the time.

I'll have to think more about this, it may be just me being silly and hypersensitive. There, now I can get back to trying to sleep.

Update the next morning (local time)
After sleeping on it - which I should have done before posting, I know - I've reached the conclusion that I (due to totally unrelated events) was being oversensitive and read things into it that may not have been there as far as the other party was concerned. I would delete the post if I had not promised myself never to do that.

Bryan Fischer Blocks Bock on Twitter

"Bryan Fischer is the former Director of Issues Analysis for the American Family Association (AFA). He hosts the talk radio program Focal Point on American Family Radio and posts on the AFA-run blog Instant Analysis (formerly Rightly Concerned).
Fischer opposes abortion, national health care, gay adoption, and same-sex marriage. Fischer's comments about homosexuality caused the AFA to be designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in November 2010. To avoid being classified as a hate group, the AFA has officially repudiated Fisher's views on Muslims, Native Americans, Hispanics, African Americans, The Holocaust being caused by homosexuals, the outlawing of homosexuality, and that Hillary Clinton is a lesbian."
( From Wikipedia's two first paragraphs about this hate monger.

I had forgotten I had visited this morons Twitter feed earlier. I must have left a comment he didn't quite appreciate, because now I am blocked. I feel honored!

A Failed Friendship

For several weeks now, I have been mulling over a friendship that ended disastrously. What went wrong? Could I have said or done some thing differently to stop this from ending with unfriending, blocking, muting and banning?

I am getting nowhere and am just winding around in circles, most likely because the breakup is still too close in time or that I am too involved and unable to be objective in my inquiry. It simply hurts too much to think about it. Nonetheless I blame myself for the failure.

Every failed friendship should be followed by an autopsy of sorts to establish when, where and how everything went totally wrong, so that we can learn and avoid the same pattern from occurring again.

I may return to this subject in the future, but for now it seems pointless. All I know is that, to paraphrase the Roxette song, "there must have been love, but its over now". A residue of the love we had still remains and a hope - at least on my part - that somehow this will not be the end.

A part of SecondLife reality. The green blob is someone on my blocklist,
most likely one of "the four in one" shieldmaidens because I cannot remember
anyone else in the Scandinavian community that I could have blocked
