A New Look for SecondLife

SecondLife launched a new logo today.
"The old logo has served us well but no longer projects our vision for SL as we move into this next decade. The new logo uses clearer, bolder type to communicate our optimism and confidence in what the future holds for SL. We retired the soft green color in favor of bright blue to reflect the boundless energy of our residents, who create amazing content and experiences. When it comes to what you can do with SL, the (blue) sky’s the limit!" (SecondLife Community blog)
I like it!

SP Board Meeting 02/16/2019 - Minutes Posted

To assist my dear sexy friend Cay (cayson.triellis) and my adorable husband Tomais, the minutes from the board meeting they attended and found bewildering, confusing or downright objectionable are now posted at the Second Pride website (url) under "Documents". This (url) is the direct link to the aforementioned document for the lazy buggers.

The minutes contain a lot of great news, here I will only mention a few select ones.

  • Second Pride is applying to become an LGBT+ Gateway to SecondLife. If approved by Linden Lab the organization would save USD249 per month in tier and can reduce its costs - thereby being able to donate more to charitable LGBT+ causes in first life.
  • Changes in the mission statement of the Bylaws accepted by the board, to be voted on by the Membership.
  • Members are - as has been mentioned in a previous post - invited to contribute with their ideas on an updated logo for Second Pride, a theme for the Festival in June, and additional services they would like from Second Pride.
  • The 15th annual Second Pride Festival will take place between June 14th and 23rd, 2019.
  • New and improved donation kiosks are now available.
Read all about it and more at greater length in the minutes!

P.S. The Build Director also promised Cay to consider reintroducing floats parade in the festival.

Second Pride Needs Your Talent & Insight

Second Pride is currently accepting submissions from the Membership (that’s you, or at least should be) in three areas.

The areas are.
  1. New logo
  2. Theme for the festival in June
  3. Suggestions for other services that Second Pride can provide
Please take time to read the information at the Second Pride website (url) and even if you don’t think your idea is good enough, Second Pride wants to hear from you!

You will also find information on where to send your submissions there.

Unfortunate Choice

This is the new logo of the Swedish Liberals.

Sometimes one wonders what people are thinking - or (in this case) not thinking - when they are involved in the process of choosing a new logo.

Perhaps they just have very limited frames of references? Strange, I know several liberals who are gay and should have stopped this.

The unfortunate choice of a logo has, of course, led to some hilarity and new versions on the same theme.

New Logo for BiSL - Again

Yeah, yeah I know, it wasn't too long ago I updated the logo for Bock in SecondLife, but I found this awesome logo maker and wanted something sleeker, more minimalistic and modern.

The website Shopify.com has a couple of free online tools, among other a Logo maker. I made two logos in the same style, one rectangular and the other square. The font is Poiret One.

I am very happy with the results.

M/M Buttsecks Is Everywhere

William Tapley, a.k.a. the Third Eagle of the Apocalypse and the Co-Prophet of the End Times, convincingly explains how the logo above should be interpreted in this video on YouTube.

(via J.M.G.)

---
Oh my, how fabulous it must be to be so bat crazy that e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g can be explained as hawt m/m buttsecks. I think I am starting to envy this guy.

P.S. I wonder if Bill realizes, that his obsession with m/m buttsecks probably means he is the worst closet case ever?
P.P.S. You absolutely must watch this video from start to finish.
P.P.P.S. I am also curious to know who the other "Co-Prophet of the End Times" is/are/were. If anyone knows, please let me know!
P.P.P.P.S. And while we are at it, who the fuck are/were the first two "Eagles of the Apocalypse", and are there a fourth, fifth or even more of them?
P.P.P.P.P.S. Bill answers my question on his own blog ThirdEagleMedia.com: About Me
And now, finally, I will explain my titles. Often when I was studying the end times interpretation of Revelation I would come to a mental block. At that point I would pause and take a walk while praying the rosary. On one such walk it occurred to me to ask the Lord, "who is the eagle of the Apocalypse" (Revelation 8:13). My thoughts immediately answered "you are!". This really startled me but I knew that it came from God and was not a product of my imagination. After returning home, I researched the eagle and discovered two previous "eagles", Saint Vincent Ferrer and his successor Saint Bernardino of Siena. Both warned Europe back in the late fifteenth century about the first woe which was the breakup of Christianity. Saint Bernardino expressly warned about the plague of locusts in Revelation 9 which we now know was caused by Martin Luther and his followers. Luther is the star which falls from heaven and is a precursor of the false prophet. I have determined that my role as the third of these "eagles" is to warn primarily about the second woe, world war 3. I expect that a fourth eagle will follow me who will warn about the third woe, the reign of the antichrist, and also the last woe (yes there are actually 4 woes), Armageddon.
Regarding my title, "Co Prophet of the End Times", several passages in Daniel explain. Read Daniel 12:4 "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased". Obviously, someone must come along to unseal Daniel. Read Daniel 12:9 "And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end". The "time of the end" is now, and my job is to do the unsealing. In fact, ALL end times Bible prophecy requires a Co Prophet AND a Prophet because it is work of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit always requires two people to accomplish His plan. For example, speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit, yet it has no edification for the Church, as Paul said, unless someone else interprets the tongues. Also in marriage, it takes a man and a woman to produce a child which is also a work of the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life.
I do not claim to be the only co prophet of the end times. Scripture says that at the time of the end, the Holy Spirit would be poured out on all flesh. "Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall have visions and your old men shall dream dreams".

New Logo for Bock in SecondLife

Bock in SecondLife is delighted to unveil its new logo.

The logo is to be used when the blog is represented at various SecondLife events, such as the Second Pride Festival or the Gay Archipelago SummerFest (among others).

This bolder, more retro and ironic approach features a Pristina font, which is the work of British designer Phill Grimshaw, a calligraphic typeface that displays all the natural, unrestrained qualities of cultured penmanship.

The logo is clearly inspired by the traditional Japanese Imperial flag and is designed to be both recognizable and highly visible. It comes in a variety of clear pastel colors which are pleasing to the eye, but it is also everso slightly asymmetrical, to indicate that the editor in chief is an opinionated and headstrong bastard who doesn't always aim to please.

The logo was created by the blog's own favorite graphic designer Tomais Ashdene after a concept by the blogger himself.

HRC Wins "Best Social Media Campaign 2013"

From the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) blog:
"Tuesday night at Mashable’s inaugural award show in New York City, HRC was recognized as this year’s “Best Social Media Campaign” for the Supreme Court digital strategy that launched the red equality logo.
The Mashies celebrates the best in digital across marketing, advertising and social media. HRC was nominated alongside Wieden+Kennedy’s Nike Greatness campaign by and Ignition Interactive’s Prometheus Integrated campaign.

HRC’s campaign, which included the viral red equality logo, captured the attention of millions in the lead up to the historic Supreme Court’s marriage equality decisions. From actors to musicians and athletes to TV personalities, dozens of celebrities shared the modified HRC logo or supportive messages about marriage equality with millions of followers. According to an official Facebook analysis, 120 percent more people changed their profile picture on Tuesday, March 26 – the first day of oral arguments -- when compared to the previous Tuesday. It is the largest social media campaign analysts have seen to date."

Simple Question

‘Your name is Windows. Why are you a flag?’, was the simple and highly pertinent question the American graphic designer Paula Scher of Pentagram asked when she was presenting her sketches for the new Windows logo.

I love it! It´s clear and beautiful in a no-nonsense way.

(More about how I happened to came across this yesterday in a post later.)

On Rebranding of SecondLife

On her blog "Dwell On It" Tateru Nino last week raised the question of a possible rebranding of SecondLife in 2011, in the post "Second Life rebranding in 2011?"

This was my reaction to that idea:

Why the hell mend something that is not broken? I do not share Tateru´s notion that SecondLife sounds "creepy" or is a "lousy brand name".

I would ask the marketing department at Linden Lab to carefully reconsider any changes of the brand name, other than the one I mention in my comment. There are lots of other things that the marketing people can focus their meddlesome energy at to attract new users.

For one thing they could reintroduce the wonderful and thought-evoking slogan “Your World – Your Imagination”.

Another thing they could work with is that awful pseudo-religious logo, I never liked or understood that ugly hand and eye thing.

A third thing is should the vampire-role playing be given such a prominent exposure, why not instead  focus on the community building efforts of all kinds that are going on in-world?
