Happy Saint Patricks Day

Every 17th of March Ireland celebrates Saint Patrick’s Day, a national holiday, and holds festivals and special events to commemorate the Saint who reportedly banished snakes from the Emerald Isle.

Saint Patrick is also the Patron Saint of Ireland and influenced the migration of Christianity to the country.

Traditionally, people wear something green on Saint Patrick ‘s Day, which is known in the Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the U.S. and other countries that celebrate the day as “the wearing of the green.” Regardless of cultural background, everyone wears green because on this day, everyone is considered to be Irish.

In Ireland, however, the wearing of the green is not customary. Instead, Irish will wear shamrocks to symbolize the teaching of the holy trinity by Saint Patrick. A shamrock is a green plant, also known as a clover (see photo below), and a small bunch of shamrocks is pinned to the breast of one’s coat. (Stolen the Culture Wizard Blog).

Normal Business Will Be Resumed Shortly

Sorry everyone, this blog has been a bit silent the last few days due to whats been going on in my real and second lives.

My excuses and/or explanations to supply you with the steady stream of high quality posts to which you have now been accustomed are the following.

Although I hadn't had even a drop of alcohol on Saturday I woke up Sunday morning feeling like I had been hit by the hardest hangover of all times. I was also totally exhausted, this stayed with me all that day.

Monday-Tuesday I visited Stockholm due to work purposes and this Wednesday evening I fell asleep when I came home from work and just woke up.

Normal business will resume on this blog tomorrow (hopefully), meanwhile enjoy the eye candy above. I am sure you already know or indubitably can guess who´s sweet ass that is...

Touched by Ars

I had been dreading this day for weeks, the first anniversary of the day that my Ars/my Doug passed away.

Everytime I thought about this day my stomach bundled up into a hard knot and I got more confused and worried than I usually can be at my very worst.

It got so bad I had to delegate the planning of the details of this gathering of Ars family and closest friends to my son Guyke and my sister Millimina. The two of them of course did an excellent job, we think alike the three of us and our tastes are similar. They checked in from time to time about some detail, I always confirmed their ideas.

I shouldn't have been so afraid, Ars was watching over me and all the others of his family and close friends. We who had loved him and who had been fortunate enough to be blessed by his love.

The day started out splendidly when I received an answer to my invitation to Doug's sisters in real life to join us for the gathering. Sadly they couldn't join us but the mail was not at all a rejection, it was full of love, caring and shared emotions.

In anticipation of the gathering in the evening I wanted to be well rested, so I slept in long and took many catnaps during the day. Each time I dreamed of Ars. Well, I had one nightmare about a cat jumping up at my face to scratch my eyes out also but mostly I dreamed of my Ars. I heard his laughter and I heard his voice in my dreams.

When the time for the gathering finally came they all rallied in to support me and to be supported by me and each other on this day.

Dejerrity, who came early to have a few moments with Ars by himself, Millimina, Jeb, Andrey, Sarco, Yannis, Guyke and Janttu. Orchid, Yannis wife, dropped in for a brief visit also.

We had a truly magical and wonderful evening as we shared many happy memories about my darling Ars and some sad ones to. A few misunderstandings were cleared up. We laughed a lot and I often had tears in my eyes. but the tears were both of joy and sadness. All of us who were there were loved by Ars in some way and we all loved him right back. He touched our lives and still does.

I never once wept - not until afterwards - and then it was more out of relief and when all the apprehension and tension left my body.

I am so grateful to all those who were there with me at this time in my life. What could have been a terrible and lonely day, become a day of love, loving support, caring and sweet memories. My deepest gratitude goes to you all for being an important part of my life, I love you all dearly!

Ars forever, forever Ars!

For Your Information

Life is full of strange coincidences.

One of those is that my husband Ars passed away on March 12th a year ago, which is the day after my rezday into SecondLife. I have to deal with this fact and have decided the following.

I will not celebrate my rezday on March 11th - at least not this year - because I will not be in a mood for celebrating at that time.

There will be however be a rezday party at a later date, this is being organized by my son Guyke and my little sister Millimina. You will all be invited by notices on this and other blogs to join me and my brother in-law Andrey as we celebrate our fourth rezdays with a joint party.

Please respect my wish!

Swedes of SecondLife Rejoice

After Bara Jonson's set at the grand opening of Neo Audran´s "New Town of Sweden" I had a small chat with him.

After we had first discussed the difficulties in getting good hired help in SecondLife Bara told me he had been informed that the Swedish television company SVT had bought the rights to air HBO´s documentary "When Strangers Click" which premiered in the United States on Valentine´s day.

In this documentary they - among other stories - show the love story of Bara and his wife Nickel Borelly, who after meeting in SecondLife succeeded in transferring it over into real life.

Bara had not yet been informed when SVT will air the program, but let´s all hope we don´t have to wait for next Valentine´s Day.
