Tell PayPal: Stop Supporting Hate Groups!

PayPal officially states that its users “may not use the PayPal service for activities that [...] promote hate, violence, racial intolerance” but PayPal has become a favorite payment service for anti-LGBT extremists all over the world.

Thanks to PayPal, it's easier than ever to send and receive money across currencies and continents - but it is also PayPal's responsibility to make sure this technology doesn't fall in the wrong hands. Anti-LGBT extremists all over the world are currently using PayPal to fund raise for their dangerous cause.

Not only is it against PayPal's rules to promote promote "hate, violence, [and] racial intolerance," hate groups also damage PayPal's brand and credibility.

We ask that PayPal join the fight against online hate and immediately shut down the accounts of anti-LGBT extremist groups using the service. PayPal must act immediately to shut down their accounts and ban all sites that promote anti-LGBT hate.

I would like to encourage all LGBT people, and all our heterosexually challenged friends, to sign the petition against the hate trade here PayPal, End the Online Hate Trade. You also have the possibility to tell PayPal why you are taking this action.

The Gays Are to Blame

To my own shame I must admit that I found this on the other side of the Atlantic even if it is from a Swedish television program. Joe Jervis and his Joe.My.God. rule once again!

This is from a very popular sing-along program that is aired on one of the Swedish (Public) Television channels and was sent during Stockholm Pride this year.

I particularly love the line, "We need to have enough morals for double-standards!"

A Must Read

There is a wonderful post on the Internet that has received over 36 000 comments - dare I say postmoderated - since it was published two days ago.

Read it and then weep a little and then be very, very happy about wonderful kids, wonderful mothers and fathers and that there is love in the world!

Click the picture to read the rest of the post! Did I say it is wonderful already...?

Second Pride 1st Annual Photo Contest

I have earlier informed you that the board of Second Pride had started a photo contest for Second Pride 2011.

The day before yesterday this notice was sent out in the Second Pride group:
Second Pride invites professional and non-professional photographers in SL to submit their work to the 1st Edition of Second Pride Annual Photo Contest. Traditional, contemporary, avant-garde, creative and experimental works that include old and new processes, mixed techniques, and challenging personal, emotional or political statements are welcome.

What are the hallmarks of a winning picture in SPAPC? Technical quality, clarity, composition but also a flair for the unexpected and an ability to capture a picture-perfect moment. Enter photographs in any of our four categories:
-        Festival sim
-        Events
-        Outfits
-        AIDS Quilt

Then, you can compete to win cash prizes as well as the opportunity to have your work printed in Prism magazine (+ an interview) and exhibited in an SL Gallery.

The contest is open until June 30th, 2011 at 12:00 PM SLT. The Second Pride judges (the Board) will post the best of the incoming entries in the photo Gallery of our web site. Finalists will be announced on August 1st, 2011. Winner will be announced by September 15th, 2011.

The 2011 Grand Prize Winner will receive L$3,000 – the first monetary prize ever offered by Second Pride for its annual photo contest –, picture + interview to be published in the September 2011 issue of Prism and the opportunity to be exhibited in an SL Gallery.

---
It seems the board has now decided to make the contest annual and alsoto offer alternative ways to submit your contributions to the contest.

Both of the boards decisions are excellent!

I actually created an account on Flickr for the purpose of submitting my pictures to the group. Everytime I tried to do that I got a message from Flickr that I wasn't allowed to do that for several specific reasons that made no sense at all. I am sure I screwed up in some way so I had given up on the idea after 20 tries. Now I may reconsider.

Second Pride 2011 - Satisfaction Survey

The organizers are asking us to do a satisfaction survey on Second Pride 2011. Please click on the picture above to get to the survey!

I have a few views which I have already shared in doing the survey.

It was a great party and the DJ´s were awesome. I had a lot of fun and met old and new friends but
  • I would have preferred if everything had taken place in the same area
  • I missed the opening and closing ceremonies
  • I missed the opening and closing parades
  • I missed the live acts (below I mention a few that I am sure would have loved to be there)
    • Bara Jonson
    • Strum Diesel
    • Jaynine Scarborough
    • SOAR
    • Junivers Stockholm and the Cardinals and
    • DJ Elfay Pinkdot with her Coffee and Pajamas Jazz show

The Four Bloggers Dance at Second Pride 2011

My friend and co-blogger Eddi Haskell just posted a video on his blog "Eddi Haskell´s Second Life" in it you can see NakedCarl, Jeff Ellsworth, Eddi and myself ("The Four Bloggers") moving our asses to music to satisfy the crowds.

Be among the first in the world to see it, go there NOW!

Eighth and Final Day of Second Pride

The last day of Second Pride was finally here. I had planned to go to the Folsom Fetish Pride party since I saw it on the calendar. From prior experiences following Ars around the gay clubs in-world I was certain I would meet some of the best looking male avatars SecondLife has to offer.

The gay leather men are the most stunning guys in SecondLife if you ask me. Most of them are big sim owners, club owners, designers and store owners as DJ Hotboy pointed out during his awesome set.

Jamal Beaumont & Zim Gunsberg
Oh there was a contest there, perhaps I forget to inform you and guess who won it?
Let me just say that I am sure the guys were just being nice to a newcomer, but still it gives me the opportunity to say to the "Quadruplets" and especially AngelOf: "The hottest looking men in SecondLife voted and I won, eat your hearts out!!"

Shame on Moscow

GlobalVoices reports: "The May 28 Moscow Pride event - banned by the city authorities on May 17 - did not go smoothly: according to news reports, at least 18 gay rights activists and 14 of their opponents were detained by the police, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Manezhnaya Square and, later, in front of the Mayor's Office on Tverskaya Street. This was the sixth attempt to hold a gay pride parade in Russia's capital.

A number of foreign gay rights activists were arrested in Moscow on May 28, including a former U.S. Army officer Dan Choi."
-----

It is totally disgraceful for Moscow and all Russians that a pride parade and festival cannot be held in the capital of Russia in 2011 without being banned by civil authorities and without violence and intolerance.

Shame on you, Moscow!

Second Pride Bloggers Converge

As I told you in the earlier post I was dancing with blogger Eddi Haskell and had already seen blogger Jeff Ellsworth at the venue.

When Eddi also spotted blogger NakedCarl there he suggested we take a few group pictures of us Second Pride bloggers, which we all thought was an excellent idea.

The other guys blogs are, from left to right on the pictures above;

Sixth Day of Second Pride

My Friday at Pride started with the Jungleboy´s sponsor party. A whole lot of scantily clothed men and some women too. Great music was provided by DJ Taylor2 Spyker, if i understand correctly he is called "Chief" by the tribes people.

I saw Jeff Ellsworth - on the sidelines as usual - taking pictures for his blog I presume.

Then blogger Eddi Haskell dropped in on the party, and we started dancing together.

While I was dancing like crazy with Eddi, snapping away and enjoying the party I got an IM from Sven Sharktooth, so I TP´d him to the party.
Sven Shartooth
I first met Sven on March 6th 2010, when he was a day old noob in SecondLife. This was during the time my Ars had been admitted to the hospital so I was just running around in SecondLife waiting for updates from his sisters. When Sven the British noob asked me for help with his shape I took the time to show him a few tricks and helped him to get the all the demo-shapes at KMADD.

Well it seems he learned fast, because the hawt shape he is in now is one he made himself.
