Our first kiss in public

This day a year ago, on February 12th 2010, my partner in SecondLife since more than two years made me a very happy man when he proposed to me.I of course immediately accepted the proposal.

At this time my Ars and I had been together for more than two years. We had often joked about SL-marriages, the big wedding ceremonies after only knowing one another just a few weeks followed by bitter divorces a month or so afterwards, only to be followed again by a new "true love", a new marriage and a new divorce etc. etc.

In spite of all our joking I had been contemplating "popping the question" to Ars for awhile, but hadn't yet mustered the courage to do so. Not for fear he didn't love me, but just because we had joked too much about it I guess... and what the hell, it was all going great for us even without the formalities...

This was one of our happiest days in SecondLife, little did we know at the time that Ars (or rather the real man Doug) would pass away a month later.

The picture I am using in this post is actually a snapshot of a picture that I had unfortunately deleted after mounting it on a prim. It shows another happy day, when we first went public with our love to our friends. It was taken at SSG ("the Sarcosound grounds") by Evander Milena, in November 2007.

If it had not been for Evanders so-called wife (who later turned out to in fact be his alt) Elena I am not sure I would have ever have dared to finally start talking with Ars. For that I will always be thankful to "the infamous three E´s", as we later called them. Evander, Elena and Emile were a group of alt´s that for a long time had me and my friends totally fooled.

I was imagining this post would be easy to write, because it was a happy occasion. As it turned out it stirred up many thought and emotions that made it more difficult. Nevertheless this will be a happy day, I have made up my mind.

Note-to-self: Never delete any pictures evermore, if you feel the need to remove them from your inventory box them up instead!

Lawyers, Makeovers & Housewarmings

Well, I am feeling a bit strange today. Nothing at all has pissed me off or irked me enough to make me rant and rally in a post. All has been just humdrum in a sort of calming way.

So I´ll just go ahead and tell you about my day in SecondLife yesterday.

First of all - just to warn you silly buggers who may try to mess with me - I retained a lawyer in SecondLife yesterday. Yeah, I know I am one myself but only a bad lawyer acts on his own behalf.

My lawyer is an American and one fierce cookie I can tell you from the start. She is totally fearless and protects my ass like a lioness protects her cubs. Hell, I even had to stop her from slamming a restraining order on some people for looking at me weirdly the other day. (Note-to-self, remember to pay her 1 L$ when you get in-world, so she doesn´t try to weasel her way out of our attorney-client relationship.)

A good part of the afternoon I spent giving Matt McMillan, nee Gaboian, a well needed makeover. Matt is an alt I use in the Tiny Empires-game. Although he is an alt of mine by some freakish accident he has turned out to be straight, the poor man. Well I started off by giving him my shape with a few minor differences and then he got new skin, new hair, new eyes and a brand new tartan. The tartan was from Elle74 Zaftig of course, nothing but the best would do!

This is what he looked like as a Linden-noob and here he is after the makeover. It´s a big improvement I think.

Later that evening I was invited to a friends housewarming party. It was Ewa Aska who had built a new house for herself, she is an awesome builder in SecondLife. The house was beautiful but the coolest thing was the dance floor, I thought, we danced over flamingos and crocodiles. You can see it here in a picture I stole from Blanche Argus´s blog (please note the capital B in Blanche).

The other guests at the party were mostly from the Tara Hill-collective, so I was left pretty much to myself except for the "Hi´s" and "Bye´s".

I had a few clarifying IMs during the party though. I managed to tell a woman I had been pissed with her but that it was passing now and also a guy that I had never been pissed with him just with a female friend of his, but that that was also passing now. And finally I managed to talk nicely with another friend whom I hadn´t met for a while, to her I was quite pleasant I think, no bitching at all - would you believe it?

There you go, parts of my day all summed up in one post, and those were the interesting parts.

Nakna avatarer i SL 104

I have been promissed these pictures for at least four months, perhaps more ... but I always knew they would come eventually.

Although I do not know the dazzling and sublime Midnattsdotter "Mid" Fride too well, I trusted her word. I also know she has a busy life both in RL and in Second Life. Here in SL she is - among very many other things I am sure - the owner of a well run club and an awesome DJ.

As you all can see Mid came up with - yet another - inventive and elegant solution to the problem "How to be totally naked, but still not bare it all!" (Note-to-self. Next time you come up with a bright idea like this prohibit any flora or vegetation from the start.)

Now enjoy Mid in all her splendor as she takes her morning bath in the waterfall.

Grattis OrmDricka!

Idag fyller OrmDricka ett TRE år - och när jag såg det på "Tinas Universum" tänkte jag, "Va fan, det måste vara mycket äldre än så!"

...men säger Vampi det, så är det så!

OrmDricka må alltså kännas som en institution i svenska Second Life, men är fortfarande bara barnet med sitt välutvecklade och familjära koncept och sina varierande venues, de permanenta festplatserna Nightclub, Barn och Greenhouse samt skyboxen som ofta byggs om till speciella teman.

Gratulerar på ett TRE årsdagen för OrmDricka önskar jag alltså generalissima Vampi Twine och hennes vänliga och charmiga stab av medarbetare, inte minst den sexige pole-dansaren!

Nakna avatarer i SL 89

Den stilige hunken Harpo Shepherd skickade de här fantastiska bilderna till mig för några dagar sedan. När han gjorde det meddelade han också att bilderna var i fel storlek och behövde "dras ut i sidled" för att bli bra.

Eftersom jag vill göra mina bidragsgivare nöjda så gav jag mig i kast med uppgiften att försöka rätta till storleken - och misslyckades fullständigt naturligtvis... Vid mina första försök såg jag att det fanns funktioner i varje program jag använde som borde kunna åstadkomma de önskade förändringar. Fast jag visste inte hur jag skulle använda dem för att åstadkomma det jag ville. 

Skam den som ger sig tänkte jag när jag loggade ur SL ikväll, lite trött och mer avslappnad. Då såg jag det jag hade missat vid tidigare försök och HÄPP presto! Det var busenkelt bara man bockade av en ruta!  Här får ni alltså nu nånting att titta er hungriga på...

Note-to-self: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again!"

Marsdeb på återbesök

Jag var på OrmDrickas söndagsparty i full - nåja - läderutstyrsel när jag samtidigt fick IM från Guyke och Millimina om att nu hade Marsdeb loggat in, den avatar som Ars RL familj skapade för att delta vid hans minneshögtid. Det blev ett hastigt klädbyte! (Längre fram på kvällen noterade Guyke, att jag hade två olika skor på mig, dessutom var en svart och den andra brun...)

Nu kom alltså Marsdeb (genom en av Doug´s systrar) på återbesök i SL. Jag samlade snabbt ihop de SL-familjemedlemmar som fanns inworld. Underbara som de är kom de genast trots den sena europeiska timman. Det blev Guyke Lundquist, Janttu Winkler, Millimina Salamander och jag själv. Ars bror Dejerrity Mycron var inte inworld när vi började men anslöt på slutet

Efter att inledningsvis ha visat delar av hemmasimen igen och det nya underbara och permanenta minnesmärket som Tymus Tenk har skapat på Mirromere, så tröttnade vi på Marsdebs "noob-look", särskilt hennes "duckwalk". Vi beslutade oss därför för att ge henne en radikal makeover!!!

Det följde några roliga timmar men till slut hade vi ändå gjort om Marsdeb till en "Foxy lady".
