Belated Congratulations

My dear friend, the humble but insanely brilliant, talented and sublime Butch Diavolo had his fifth rezday yesterday on September 5, 2013, and we all forgot about it including himself.

When he suddenly remembered it himself today by a coincidence, when Primrose told him so by wishing him a happy rezday, he tried to give Guyke and me a guilt trip. Our hardened hearts were not touched in the least by his screaming and crying.

Happy fifth rezday my darling friend and may you have many, many more!

I'm An Old Fart

Although I still feel like I am in the prime of my manhood and that I am at an age that suits me perfectly I must finally face the facts and accept and embrace that

I am now officially an old fart!

I rezzed into SecondLife on March 11, 2007, after reading in a newspaper article that the Kingdom of Sweden had established an Embassy in a virtual world that I had never heard of. As a taxpayer I was curious about this news and came to check it out myself. I have never regretted that day and I am sure I never will!

There have been good times, bad times, difficult times, lazy times, easy times, boring times and times like it felt like a living hell and when I wondered why I kept on going back. The truth is that SecondLife is just what the name tells you. It is a second life with its own rules and limitations, but if you give it a chance and let yourself experience it with an open mind and an open heart and learn from it and give back to it you are richly rewarded. 

For me it has always been about people, they enrich my life and they warm my heart when we share experiences and thoughts and feelings. True, all people are not good news or healthy to have in your environment, but - just as in first life - they are few and far between and forgettable.

So happy rezday to me and count on me being here the following six years also!

SecondLife Superstar Turns Six

Today is the sixth rezday in SecondLife of Eddi Haskell, my friend and mentor. This supersexy, superblogger is one of the extremely few persons in SecondLife that can rightfully claim to be a superstar.

Eddi is a man of very many talents, not least among them are a gracious manner and a willingness to help newcomers who are trying to follow in his gigantic footsteps. As you can see from the picture above he - in spite of his advanced age - also has a super-cute backside...

Millimina´s 4th Rezday

Believe it or not, but today is actually the fourth rezday of my wonderful younger sister Millimina Salamander. She rezzed into SecondLife on December 6, 2008. 

I am not quite sure when we met, but I know where it was. I was at a Bara Jonson gig when I suddenly got an instant message from an unknown woman. It was in Swedish so I understood she had read my profile. I cannot remember what she said or what we talked about, but I knew that I was in love, platonically of course because I had Ars waiting for me at home.

After that day we have talked, cried, laughed and hugged constantly and I hope we will do so for many, many years to come still.

When I am old and Millimina is still ageless we have agreed that we will settle down together in a a villa in Tuscany, Italy. I have promised Millimina that she will have her own private chauffeur, a younger man of portuguese origin with a past as a professional football player. (And I mean real football, what the Americans call soccer.)

Ars Rezday 2012

On this day 6 years ago Joseph Douglas Wilson Jr., who was called J.D. or Doug by his family and friends in first life, rezzed into SecondLife for the first time. In the registration process when entering SecondLife he chose the name Ars Northmead.

Ars lived, worked, loved and thrived in SecondLife up until shortly before his death on March 12, 2010. He was a beautiful man, a kind soul, a wonderful lover and a loyal friend. He has been missed and will be missed as long as there is someone left to love him and remember him.

I love you, I remember you and I miss you. Forever Ars!

RL Photo Exhibition & A Colorful Rezday

On Thursday I was invited by tthe gallery owner Aake Roffo to a exhibition opening at his gallery at Yadkin. The exhibition was called "Houses in RL" and featured the first life photography of Kaja Lurra, well known sim landscaper in SecondLife.

I liked the pictures a lot and even bought a beautiful one showing some old beautiful blue tapestry. As I am mostly a people person here are some pictures of the visitors at the exhibition.

After the gallery opening I had originally planned to retire because I had a early morning meeting in first life on Friday, but Kandinsky Beaumont and Apmel Goosson convinced me I would have time to drop in at a rezday party.

The rezday party was for SaveMe Oh, famous and/or notorious performance artist in SecondLife. She has made her whole public existence inworld into art by behaving rudely and by being obnoxious and cantankerous. Sometimes I find it amusing and am wholeheartedly entertained, at other times not so much.

Apmel and Kandi had been appointed as my caretakers by my little sister Millimina Salamander when she went off on a first life adventure for a couple of days. When I learned this I could not refuse them any more so I crashed the rezday party.

Luckily Apmel had warned me beforehand that it would be colorful, but what I saw when I was teleported in was the most amazingly bright cacophony of colors in all imaginable shapes and forms. It was a veritable bombardment of the visual preceptors (i.e my eyes). Occasionally we would also have shoals of sharks attacking us. I presume the shark is her totem-animal, but I am not sure.

I enjoyed the experience thoroughly but after about half an hour my sight was suffering from an overdose and it was time for me to sneak of to bed.

The Oldest Swedish Avatar Gets Older

Happy seventh rezday my dear friend PetGirl Bergman, also lovingly known as Tina, the concierge at the Embassy, "that woman" or even "the oldest living female Swedish avatar in SecondLife".

Who would believe that such an old avatar would still be alive and kicking and sexy and fun? 95 must be the new 25, or something...

Belated Second Blogoversary

I am terrible with dates!  Actually I am so bad with dates that I am one of the few people I know that has to remind himself of his own birthday. There were really only four dates I used to be able to  remember without help, those are Christmas eve, New Years day and my parents birthdays.

Nowadays I can add March 12th to that list, which is the day Ars passed away, and the day of my own rezday in SecondLife (because it occurs on the day before) and Ars real life birthday.

Today I discovered that I had missed the second anniversary of this blog, which was first started on August 25th, 2009.
