Let the Q&A Commence!

The time for candidates to the board of Second Pride to deliver their statements has passed.

Four residents have submitted statements.
Chair - DJRez Cyberstar
Secretary - MikeAdam Resident
Events - Jamie Rozenberg
IT - Lee McKay

In my preliminary opinion they all seem to be qualified and reliable.

The time for questions and answers to the candidates has started and continue through August 26, 2017. So ask away!

You will find a link to the Second Pride website in the left column of this blog. Just click the image and it will take you to the site.

You should be able to read the statements, questions and answers without logging in, but to be able to pose questions to the candidates you must first register on the website (Top right corner) and log in.

900,000 Pageviews

Bock in SecondLife will, if all goes as expected, today pass 900,000 pageviews since June 1, 2010. This is the 4,015th post.

The blog has been in existence since August 25, 2009, although I didn't start blogging regularly until January 12, 2010. The pageview-counter was installed June 1, 2010.

I would especially like to thank all my regular readers for following me through the years, especially the lazy times when not much blogging occurred. Thank you also to my incidental readers, please keep come back again.

Second Pride Festival Pictures?

Do you want to see pictures from the ongoing Second Pride Festival and possibly share your own? Here are some tips of where you can find them and post your own.
Photo by J.J. Goodman of a probably angelic, certainly
innocent and possibly virtuous party goer of unknown identity
  1. There is a group on Flickr named Second Pride - Celebrate Diversity where you can see other peoples pictures from the ongoing festival and share your own photos, snaps and pictures. Just join the group!
  2. Also, my dear friend and co-blogger Carl Gee, a.k.a. NakedCarl, is doing his usual thing and is live-blogging from the festival, see his pictures on his blog NakedCarl - Second Life Photographer.
  3. There is also the Second Pride website, under 2017 Pictures.
I am not listing Facebook, because all of those enjoy that website.

Should you know of any more places where one can see pictures from the ongoing festival, please give me the link in the comments and I will add them to the list.

Introducing: Flat Bock 2017

As has become a tradition for the Second Pride Festival, I am today introducing a new Flat Bock. This years contribution was, as always, made by the blogs art director and my wonderful husband Tomais Ashdene.

This version is much improved compared to the precious ones.
As I have been informed that some of the previous versions have been used for shooting practice and as dart boards (And we cannot have that, now can we?), the material for the Flat Bock is now Kevlar.

The surface has been specially prepared to have the same silky and smooth touch as my natural skin, but is still easy to clean after use. Just rinse in loads of lukewarm running water (I suggest you use the shower or a garden hose) and dry with a soft towel. Hoopla, it is ready for use again!

It's Midsummer's Eve 2017

Bock in SecondLife wishes all it's wonderful
and sexy readers a very happy Midsummer!

New Header for Second Pride 2017

The Second Pride Festival starts tomorrow, and I have a feeling this is going to be one of the best ever. But then again, I feel that way every year and am right every year too.

Just in time my spouse and the art director for this blog, Tomais has produced another stunning blog header for me. Enjoy!

To Gnussa - A Swedish Variety

As this blog's intrepid ethnologist and reporter from the regions around the Arctic Circle I will today share a report on a relatively modern phenomenon in Swedish dancing. I only heard of it myself last week.

Wikipedia informs us (translated to English by yours truly):
"To gnussa is a variation of or addition to the couples dance Foxtrot. When dancing the foxtrot most couples do this with their heads next to each other, eyes straight ahead, cheek to cheek. To "gnussa" the couple instead support their foreheads lightly against each other. As their feet move the couple roll their foreheads smoothly against each other. The couple always look in the same direction and always in the direction in which they are moving. If the couple has a big difference in height the shorter partner can instead support their forehead against the taller partners lips or chin.

To gnussa probably originated in the area around Sundsvall, Sweden, and arose early in the 1990s. From there it spread to the rest of Sweden, with growing popularity."

Let's let Jonathan and Lisa demonstrate the moves for you.

White Christmas

I just finished a long and wonderful talk with both my brothers, Dej and JJ. Love the guys! And then I found this sweet cartoon Christmas card in the comment section of J.M.G, so I had to share it with you my loyal readers.

Sung by The Drifters. Cartoon by Joshua Held. Featuring Bill Pinkney on lead bass and Clyde McPhatter on tenor. An animated Christmas Card, and a homage to a great song, a great band, and a great Holiday.

Happy Holidays everyone, hugs and kisses!

This Is For Petr Hastings Vanbeek

Well Petr, look what I found after having reading your comment to me on Google+.

Do you see what is says at the bottom of the list? There's a blog named "Confessions of a Digital Daddy Bear".

That particular blog is run by a giggly guy - at least when Tasty is logging into SecondLife - named Petr Hastings Vanbeek, i.e you yourself!

Your blog has been on my blogroll since I put it there several years ago.

Sometimes it takes awhile for the blogroll to update, I never understood why, but in those cases you can press the "Show All" in the lower right corner and you will get the complete blogroll, not only the five that were last updated.

So, are we good again, buddy?

New Header for Fall 2016

Bock in SecondLife's art-director, Tomais Ashdene, has created a new blog header for the fall season of 2016.

The header shows little Tomais and little Bock playing with the fallen leaves at Southern Charm.

I absolutely love the vibrant colors!

NakedCarl Turns Middle-Aged

My dear friend and blogging buddy Carl Paneer, best known as Naked Carl, turns six years old in SecondLife today. (Which as you certainly know means he will henceforth be considered as a ripe middle-aged gentleman.)

Carl is celebrating this special event with a party this evening at 10PM SLT at a secret venue (SLurl to the party venue will be provided on Carl's blog at 09.30PM SLT. Click this link)

Clothing is - as one could guess - optional and DJ Ez will supply the musical entertainment.

Unfortunately I will not be able to take part in the celebration as it starts at an ungodly hour for a late-sleeper like myself.

I wish you a very happy rezday, my dear buddy, and hope you have a wonderful party!

P.S. I have sent you a gift from Marketplace, it is called Darius and is of course mesh. It is something every naked man and male avatar needs.

The thing is sometimes hard and at other times soft, sometimes wet and at other times dry, it comes in all colors and shapes, lengths, girths and sizes and you can even change all of it yourself, well in SecondLife you can. I hope you enjoy it!

As we cannot have the most famous nude man of SecondLife running around with a mismatched cock, the gift also includes thirty (30) minutes of quality tinting by the Master of Cock-Tinting in SecondLife, my husband Tomais Ashdene.

New Logo for BiSL - Again

Yeah, yeah I know, it wasn't too long ago I updated the logo for Bock in SecondLife, but I found this awesome logo maker and wanted something sleeker, more minimalistic and modern.

The website Shopify.com has a couple of free online tools, among other a Logo maker. I made two logos in the same style, one rectangular and the other square. The font is Poiret One.

I am very happy with the results.

New Favicon - The Green Carnation

Before we got the Internet and all the hookup apps, gay men with faulty or spurious gaydar - much like myself - tried coming up with various clear but subtle and innocuous ways of identifying one another in the vast ocean of stunningly handsome heterosexual men.

Ever since Blogger started allowing "favicons" (a.k.a. website icon or bookmark icon) I have availed myself of it as a means of identifying this blog as gay operated. I have used various LGBT symbols to do this, first the λ-sign, then I moved on to the pink triangle.

When I started looking for a new favicon I came across an account about Oscar Wilde, the biggest and butchest poofter of us all.

It is said that he and his group of friends in the Victorian England of the 1890's wore a green carnation as an emblem.

It would seem - judging from a Wikipedia article on LGBT-symbols - that in doing so the group picked up a previous tradition among homosexuals in ancient Rome.

Welcome "Outside the Box"

Please join me in welcoming my friend Nathan Svenson to the wonderful world of blogging about SecondLife.

Nate's blog is named "Outside the Box". In a statement on the blog Nate tell us what he intends to blog about, "There is a rich and vibrant culture happening in virtual reality I plan to document some and hopefully learn more about the people and concepts I encounter."

"Outside the Box" has of course already been added to my blogroll with SecondLife blogs.
