Funny

Thought provoking isn't it? There are loads of hilarious e-cards at someecards

...although I have yet to use a spoon in the process, but then women are of course more evolved, refined and elegant...

In fact I am almost certain that she is wearing fish net stay up stockings and stiletto high heels, while I myself would most likely be barefooted.like her cousin.from the Appalachians.

William Shatner Sings "O Canada"

William Shatner spruces up the national anthem of Canada for sirhc DeSantis and Ziggy Starsmith and all the rest of you fabulous Canadians.

Best wishes on Canada Day, guys!.(Yeah, I know I almost missed it...)

Muggee Mugs Mugger

Malmo, Sweden. A man was robbed on Friday afternoon but he ran after the robber and responded in kind - by mugging him.

A 25-year-old man was robbed of his cell phone outside the Lidl store on Södra Förstadsgatan. The 25-year-old then ran after the suspected robber, a 41-year-old, and, in turn, robbed him of his mobile phone.

"- It's a very strange story. We have a double mugging, they mugged each other", says police officer Mats Attin.

After their mutual muggings the men started fist fighting. Both men have been taken into custody and will be charged after sobering up in the police lock-up.

Straigh But Not Narrow

Through Joe Jervis over at J.M.G. I just found a great site that I would like to recommend to all gay-friendly straight guys.

"Straight But Not Narrow" is a campaign working to positively impact the way teens view and treat their LGBT peers. The campaign is primarily directed at straight male dudes by using comedy and their peers to positively influence their views on LGBT teens.
...and now I am off to bed to take a greatly overdue nap. My first week back at work after the vacation has been great but rough! It´s good to be back with my work team though!

Sex

I just read an excellent post by Torro Spyker on his blog The Bullring. The post "Talking Dirty" is about sex in SecondLife.

The subject of sex in SecondLife is rarely discussed among residents, at least to my knowledge. I am happy that Torro broke that taboo with his post today.

Having sex in SecondLife is mostly about sight and sound - and pushing those damned buttons. For someone like myself who also depends on touch, smell and taste to enjoy sex the experience is rather limited and usually not that thrilling. Except if the person I am having phone-, voice- or chat sex with can get my imagination racing with his words, images and the sound of his voice.

I always used to say that "my most erogenous zone is my mind, stimulate it and watch what happens...". And that has been the truth, but the problem for me has been that without the missing ingredients it becomes more difficult. Ars had a wonderful, sultry and sexy voice and was good with words, but still I think I may have been a disappointment to him in this area because I did not always get triggered.

When I was reading Torro´s post I realized that I haven´t had sex with another person in real life or SecondLife the last 16 months. To be quite honest I haven´t had much sex with myself either during that period. This insight really scares me. I am only 41 years old and cannot imagine myself doing without for the rest of my life.

Another thing that has worried me lately, since I started flirting again a few months ago, is that I will get a reputation of being a "cockteaser", because I actually do not have any will or intention at the moment to follow up on my flirting. I guess I should just tone it down several notches...

I ask your pardon for this unstructured post, I just had to get it out to start my thought process.

I Concede Defeat

There is now only about an hour left on the poll for or against a ban on circumcision of infant males on my friend and c-blogger Eddi Haskell´s blog Eddi Haskell´s SecondLife.

Unfortunately I must now concede defeat in that poll. I still firmly believe that the procedure should be baned but have through the discussion that has taken place also gotten a better understanding of the emotional, cultural and sociological aspects involved.

Hopefully this understanding will help me in my future work campaigning against the widespread practice. I feel as if I have "lost a battle, but can still win the war for the foreskin" so to speak.

Secret Message to a GingerBread Man

This message is in a very secret code that can only be read by the Gingerbread man himself.

"Meddelandet mottaget, Taco!

Remember Stonewall

Let us always be proud and thankful for the queens who finally had had enough of the harassment and fought back 42 years ago on June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn. We owe you, guys and girls!

Wesley´s 5th Anniversary as DJ in SecondLife

So this night I set my alarm clock to 2:30 AM local time, because I sure as hell was not going to miss the surprise celebration of Wesley Spengler´s fifth anniversary as a DJ in SecondLife.

Me and Wes go way back. I think the first time I heard him was at Devil Inside, when it was the "only" gay club around, or at least the only place to be if you wanted to see all the beautiful male avatars assembled in one place.

Back in those days Wesley still used to do a set on a Euro-friendly time. Nowadays he is mostly on between 7 - 9PM SLT which is in the middle of the night for us. I only get to listen to him spin when I am on vacation.

I am happy I managed to get up tonight to catch the celebration. Armed with a pot of freshly brewed coffee and a pack of Marlboro´s I was ready to teleport to the Pavilion, Wes´s own wonderful club in SecondLife. The Pavilion is really one of the most beautiful clubs in SecondLife.

The venue was full of old-timers and a lot of "fresh meat" also, everyone in an excellent, chatty mood. As always when I have finished a teleport I move out of the way - so as not to block any newcomers entry and end up with avatars on my coiffure. As all of us know, moving when nothing has rezzed is a bit of a risk but this time I was lucky and ended up next to Ziggy Starsmith and Larz Kaz.

I am so happy that Kharissa Indigo remembered to invite me to this party, I loved being there and crawled back to bed again after two hours of fun and partying. I slept like a log.

Jordyn Reveals History´s Most Well Kept Secret

Today Jordyn Carnell spilled the beans on all man-kind.

He revealed the age old and most well kept secret of men. Amazingly enough he did this without even so much as a "by your leave, sir" it in the most casual manner.in a comment on "Bock in SecondLife".

Traitor!

The tragic event in all it´s sordidness can be read here.

UPDATE
It is rumored that the United States armed forces have taken Jordyn into protective custody after his home was surrounded by rightfully enraged men.

UPDATE II
According to all the news agencies of the world, the United States President Barack Obama has dropped everything to try to handle the ramifications of this crisis.

Nobel Prize for Philip Rosedale?!!

Philip in a tuxedo - like I want to see him soon again
So I was dreaming a bit during the night and now I am going to share parts of my dreams with you, dear readers. The dreams were totally wild and crazy but happy ones.

I had a short one about kissing my Ars, it was so real that I even dreamed of feeling his breath on my face. The only thing was my mind could not decide which Ars I was kissing, his SecondLife avatar or his first life person Doug, so it kind of shifted from one to the other all the time.

In my dreams I also remembered the amazing memorial services that were held in Ars honor, first the one at St. Magnus Kirk in Hinterland (arranged by Chade, Hiroku and the other wonderful men at Hinterland) and then the one at the Calas Galadhon Garden sims (arranged by two of Ars´s brothers, Dejerrity and Jeb, and the two owners of Calas Galadhon, Tymus Tenk and Truck Meredith, and finally wonderful builder Bora Rossini).

Come to think of it I really wish I had pictures from those two services, but I was too preoccupied with other things to take any myself.

At both places we had many avatars coming in from all corners of the world to be together and support each other at this point in time and in their busy first life´s. All because we shared a love and admiration for the avatar Ars Northmead and Doug, the man behind the avatar.

Did you know that we were more  than 70 avatars at Calas Galadhon for the whole ceremony? And one of the avatars actually had parts of Doug´s first life family sitting there watching the computer screen, his father, his sisters and brothers and some cousin and nephews.

We were all there, from all over the world sharing these moments of remembrance together, being with each other, supporting each other.

The first thing I thought when I woke up was "Philip Rosedale - and possibly Linden Lab also - should be awarded the Nobel Prize!"

The Nobel Prize comes in the following categories Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, Peace, and finally Economic Sciences. The last prize is awarded by Sweden's National bank in Memory of Alfred Nobel.

I can imagine Philip Rosedale receiving the prize in possibly three of the six categories, Physics, Physiology or Medicine and Peace, but maybe also Economic Sciences.

What do you people think? Could he receive the prize? If so, in which category/categories and why? Talk amongst yourselves then tell me. I have a few ideas myself that I may possibly leak.

BREAKING! New York Senate Votes For Same-Sex Marriage!

Photography by Jay Fine
The State Senate of  New York a few moments ago voted for same-sex marriages with the votes Ayes 33 - Nays 29.

Due to some changes of the wording in the bill to get it to pass in the senate the bill will have to pass in the the State Assembly once again for confirmation before governor Andrew Cuomo - as he has stated he will - can sign it into law.

My warmest congratulations to all gay and lesbian New Yorkers for being granted your fundamental human rights!

The light of Jeebus has struck the city and yet she stands firm, and the straight marriages don´t dissolve either, what a wonderful day!

Yes to Ban Circumcision of Infant Boys

As I have informed you earier (Vote Against Infant Circumcision), there is a poll over at my friend Eddi "Snip-Snip" Haskell´s blog concerning whether or not circumcision of infant boys should be baned or not.

I feel the need to remind you that the voting will be going on for four more days, if you havent voted yet please do so a.s.a.p.

"The choosers", of which I am one, believe that there should be a ban against circumcision of infant boys until the individual himself can give a valid consent. We have no objections whatsoever to those men who elect to perform this operation when they are adults and have the possibilty to choose it for themselves.

The choosers believe that the issue is basically a Human Rights one and can be boiled down to this.

"Leave the children's bodies alone, both boys and girls. Teach them healthy routines to clean their genitals on a daily basis. ...all the rest is religion and culture screwing up with nature."

"The snippers", of which Eddi is one, believe that there should be no ban against circumcision of infant boys and that the decision on whether or not circumcision should be performed rests with the parents of the infant boy or the medical profession. They also claim that a vast amount of studies show that there are big health advantages for both the boy himself and the surrounding society and claims this is supported by a vast amount of studies conducted, they therefore believe it should not be banned but left to the parents or the medical profession to decide..

The studies that have been presented by "the snippers" have been opposed by "the choosers" who claim there are a multitude of other studies stating the opposite.

Now head on over to Eddi´s blog Eddi Haskell´s Second Life and tell us what your position is on this matter.

The Bare Essentials for a Midsummer Celebration

These are the most basic essentials for any midsummer celebration anywhere. Of course you can also have a lot of other things but you cannot do without these.

1. "Matjessill"
"Matjes herring" is a prepared form of herring stored in a barrel before it is cleaned and packed in preserve with a special seasoning, comprising among other things, sugar, cinnamon, allspice and cloves. Often sandalwood is included in the seasoning.

(Please note that the Swedish matjes is not the same as the one sold in Germany or Holland. It is not as sharp in the taste and tastes more of the spices.)

2. "Färskpotatis"
Early potatoes, preferably the smaller ones, boiled with lots of dill.

3. "Gräddfil"
Sour creme.

4. "Gräslök"
Chives, chopped in about 1 centimeter long pieces

5. "Snaps"
Small glasses of spirits, usually "brännvin" or vodka but any "akvavit" will do, usually served very well chilled with your meal.

Most often you sing drinking songs before you imbibe

After finishing the song shout "Skål" at the top of your voice and then look all the other guests straight in the eyes - starting with the lady to your right - and give each of them a small nod and a big smile.

Finally you can drink your "snaps"! Make sure to swallow all that is in the glass in one gulp. It is not considered polite to "bite off" the snaps, if you aren't a woman or a sissy boy.

6. "Midsommarkrans"
Wear a garland on your head, preferably one you made yourself.

Optional but classy "Jordgubbar"
Strawberries served with or without cream and sugar.

Have a wonderful Midsummer!

Big Man

Untitled (Big Man) - Ron Mueck (2000)
Ron Mueck (born 1958) is an Australian sculptor who is working in the United Kingdom.

The picture above shows his sculpture Untitled (Big Man) made in 2000. It is a nearly seven-foot sculpture of a naked, completely hairless, belligerent-looking man sitting with his knees drawn up and his elbows resting on his knees, his head in his hand. The work is designed to sit in a corner.

The sculpture is owned by the "Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden" in Washington, D.C., and has become one of the museum's most popular works ever since its acquisition.

All the above is from Wikipedia´s article on Ron Mueck
----

When I first saw this picture a few years ago my instinctive reaction was anger and bewilderment.

"What sick bastard would devote himself to making such a derisive comedy picture of another human beings deformity", was what I thought. (In those first days I actually still thought it was a picture of a living person.) I quickly moved on to something else, but I couldn't forget it and over time the image started pulling me back again and again.

Although he is a really big man there is something acutely defenseless about him, sitting there naked and exposed. unshielded. Alone. He seems to be protecting himself from the camera - and against us the onlookers - by assuming almost a fetal position. His back is curved, the head is bowed, and the limbs are bent and drawn up to the torso. He has crawled into the corner of the room. Or perhaps we drove him there?

Even his glare seems to me more defensive than belligerent. The eyes hold more of a warning "Stay away from me! Don´t come any closer, or else..."

Nowadays I think it´s a beautiful statue and the man has become beautiful to me also.

This is a picture showing the same statue with visitors to the museum, just so you get a feel of it´s true size.

Happy 8th Rezday, SecondLife!

Today June 23rd, 2011, SecondLife will officially be eight years old. Would you believe it?

This wonderful world of ours is only eight years old and the celebrations have already started and will be going on the whole week. For more information on what is happening please go to the SL8B-site.

I would like to congratulate Linden Lab and all who work there - and have worked there - since the start until now.

Happy Eighth Rezday, SecondLife!

I love you guys, all of you - with the possible exception of M Linden and the guy that I have blocked out from my memory who messed up my "not so flourishing" business on XStreet (these days better known as Marketplace).

I would also like to convey my gratitude to all Lindens and Ontynes - and whatever other surnames you may have - from the Chairman of the board over Customer Services to the errand boy on the third floor of the offices.

Special thanks with kisses and hugs go to my own very special Lindens,
Philip Linden - the man who shared his dream of another world with us and the sexiest Chairman of the board in both the first and second world,
Rodvik Linden - the man who will move us into the future safely and with awareness of that SecondLife is not just another game but a community and the coolest CEO known to man (even if he needs help in answering messages),
Alexa Linden - for her great kindness and good sense of humor and also for taking good care of a dear friend whom I alas usually only meet once a year,
Belinda Linden - for being warm, caring, competent and supportive towards a crazy Swede with legal problems,
Keira Linden -  for being kind, sweet, efficient and supportive in solving the crazy Swede´s technical problems and last, but in no way least,
Gareth Ontyne - for being calm, polite and efficient although the crazy Swede did not appreciate it at the time (Sorry Gareth!)

Vote Against Infant Circumcision

A truly inspired commercial for a man owning a circumcision clinic in the Philippines
My friend and co-blogger Eddi Haskell has started a vote for or against infant circumcision. Our debate started after a mutual friend and co-blogger Torro Spyker came out against infant circumcision on his blog The Bullring.

My own position on the issue, as I have said before, (so this is partly a  repost) is that mass-circumcision of infant boys is genital mutilation and child abuse. Admittedly there are a few cases when it is warranted by medical reasons, but otherwise I cannot see any valid arguments for this procedure being performed on infants.

In my mind this surgery should only be performed with informed consent on adult men. I for one would hate to have my foreskin removed, just saying.

(And yes, I totally agree that female circumcision is much more invasive and a more important issue to fight against, as it leads to more problems for the women later in life and also deprives them of the possibility to fully enjoy sex.)

----

As I have said already in a comment on The Bullring: "My position is basically a Human Rights one and can be boiled down to this.

Leave the children's bodies alone, both boys and girls. Teach them healthy routines to clean up their genitals on a daily basis.

...all the rest is religion and culture screwing up with nature."

Now head on over to Eddi´s blog Eddi Haskell´s Second Life and tell us what your position is on this matter.

For me the only possible vote in this pole is "Yes", actually I would have preferred an option saying "Hell yes!"

Midsummer Party

The inhabitants of SecondLife Sweden are now preparing for the Midsummer celebrations coming up this weekend.

I have already told you about Vadstena Castle and Ewa Aska´s party on Friday the 24th.

Now Midnattsdotter Fride steps up to the bat and announces this great line up of live SecondLife artists for Saturday 25th.

This will be a wonderful weekend in SecondLife!

Eddi Wants Your Poster!

Bock as seen by Chade Dagger and then "Photofuniad"
My friend and co-blogger Eddi Haskell is calling for your posters on his blog Eddi Haskell´s Second Life. Head on over to read the post and the particular requirements and get his email.

This is my contribution, with a slogan ripped off from L'Oréal skincare products. For the non-francophone among my readers the meaning of the slogan is "Because we are worth it".

I suggest you start mail-bombing him straight away - I did!
