Oh What A Night

I am totally exhausted today after the wonderful rezday celebration yesterday for my BIL and me - and so happy and fortunate to be surrounded by these caring, loving and wonderful people in my SecondLife!

For now I will only say thanks to all who came and took part in celebrating Andrey and me on our fourth rezday but in particular I would like to thank the following for organizing and participating in making this amazing evening and night possible.

Andrey, my wonderful BIL and a fantastic DJ with one of the biggest hearts I have ever met, for talking me into doing it at all at a time when I wasn't particularly thrilled by the idea of a rezday party, in fact I had just a few days earlier turned down suggestions from Guyke and Millimina.

Millimina, Guyke and Janttu, my always supportive and loving family, who organized the most amazing and hilarious party imaginable in a very short time. (...and then calmly saved the day as the first thing I did when I got there was to derez the party venue.)

Strum and Stirred, two of the most beautiful souls in SecondLife and one of the most beautiful, witty and touching voices on the SecondLife music scene (...and I only mention one voice because I haven´t had the privilege to hear Stirred sing - not yet...). I am so proud to count both of these dudes among my friends.

Bara, my amazing and lovely buddy since for ever, who always hits every spot possible in me with his songs and his warm voice.

Sarco, the iconic and legendary DJ and my friend since the earliest days. Oh yes I do admit there were times I did not love him but that was mainly due to my ignorance, my Ars always loved him and at the end and they had made their peace. I will always rely on Sarco´s excellent memory reminding me of events that I have long since forgotten, that always bring back the love I had for Ars and the love the two of them had for each other through all the turmoil.

There are four more I would like to mention here and they are, Svessa, Frost, Mialinn and Blanche. Thanks to you all for accepting my outstretched hand over the rift that has divided the Swedish/Scandinavian SecondLife community.

In these days when the earth shudders, when nuclear power plants explode, when dictators are toppled and go down slaughtering their own people I have been immersed in my own private affairs. True it may be pathetic but it is also very human I guess. During days like these I have also realized how petty the fracas and in-fighting has been.

Stay tuned for updates with amazing pictures from the party as soon as I have gathered the energy to sort out all my impressions and all the wonderful things that happened. And dealing with a bit of real life in between.

I love you all, all who were at the party and all who sent greetings but couldn't come because they had other obligations to deal with in First Life and in SecondLife.

Touched by Ars

I had been dreading this day for weeks, the first anniversary of the day that my Ars/my Doug passed away.

Everytime I thought about this day my stomach bundled up into a hard knot and I got more confused and worried than I usually can be at my very worst.

It got so bad I had to delegate the planning of the details of this gathering of Ars family and closest friends to my son Guyke and my sister Millimina. The two of them of course did an excellent job, we think alike the three of us and our tastes are similar. They checked in from time to time about some detail, I always confirmed their ideas.

I shouldn't have been so afraid, Ars was watching over me and all the others of his family and close friends. We who had loved him and who had been fortunate enough to be blessed by his love.

The day started out splendidly when I received an answer to my invitation to Doug's sisters in real life to join us for the gathering. Sadly they couldn't join us but the mail was not at all a rejection, it was full of love, caring and shared emotions.

In anticipation of the gathering in the evening I wanted to be well rested, so I slept in long and took many catnaps during the day. Each time I dreamed of Ars. Well, I had one nightmare about a cat jumping up at my face to scratch my eyes out also but mostly I dreamed of my Ars. I heard his laughter and I heard his voice in my dreams.

When the time for the gathering finally came they all rallied in to support me and to be supported by me and each other on this day.

Dejerrity, who came early to have a few moments with Ars by himself, Millimina, Jeb, Andrey, Sarco, Yannis, Guyke and Janttu. Orchid, Yannis wife, dropped in for a brief visit also.

We had a truly magical and wonderful evening as we shared many happy memories about my darling Ars and some sad ones to. A few misunderstandings were cleared up. We laughed a lot and I often had tears in my eyes. but the tears were both of joy and sadness. All of us who were there were loved by Ars in some way and we all loved him right back. He touched our lives and still does.

I never once wept - not until afterwards - and then it was more out of relief and when all the apprehension and tension left my body.

I am so grateful to all those who were there with me at this time in my life. What could have been a terrible and lonely day, become a day of love, loving support, caring and sweet memories. My deepest gratitude goes to you all for being an important part of my life, I love you all dearly!

Ars forever, forever Ars!

Fatherly Advice

My son Guyke is going to Finland - again - to meet up with his man Janttu.

I don´t trust the boy to pack correctly for the trip and am not sure he really understands everything he should know about Finns and their barbaric customs.

So here are a few hints on some essentials.

What to pack
1. Loads of clean underwear. You don´t know when you get a chance to wash and I don´t want to hear you were in an accident wearing filthy underwear.

2. Lots of clean flannel shirts. I think thats what they wear mostly, as they all live isolated out in the deep forests close to a lake somewhere in the wilderness. (There are tens of thousands of lakes in Finland.)

3. Socks. You need to keep your feet warm at all times.

4. A fur coat. Baby, it´s still very cold there I don´t want you to catch pneumonia.

5. Condoms. For those "really cold nights and days" this is added protection. You can share with Janttu - and by that I mean give hi m his own, don´t try to use the same one.

6. Elbow grease. I don´t want to hear that you have been walking around in the wilderness with chafed elbows and dry skin. Apply some on your lips too, it keeps them shiny and gives you a winning smile.

Remember to always moisturize, thats what keeps us McMillan men always looking good.

You have heard about saunas I am sure, but the Finnish saunas are not like the ones you have encountered in the seedy Belgian gay clubs. People behave properly there, no hanky panky!

This is what you need when going into a Finnish sauna. A bunch of twigs to beat off the guys molesting you or trying to fondle you. Just smack them and if they complain about it you just go ahead and tell them "My daddy told me so!".

You also need a small bucket of very cold water, which you can use to cool down the really bad boys.

Towels are optional and are mostly used to sit on so you don´t burn your buns. Never ever wear a bathing suit in the sauna, thats an absolute and definite no-no and may get you thrown out head first.

And this is how you sit in a real Finnish sauna, no staring around or exposing yourself flamboyantly or any such behavior. Look serious and morose, talk very little and - for the love of me - keep your hands to yourself!

Have a great time Guyke, and see you again soon!

Janttu, I will smack your sweet ass if my son has lost a single hair on his body or if you send him home to me barefooted and pregnant.

The Cute & the Cool

Ma´boys are back in the fold, well some of then - the ones I want and need most to be close to.

The cuteness that is Guyke Lundquist has even learned the trick how to look cute when you are kicking someone else´s teeth in. It´s a really funny picture.that Janttu made of him there.

The picture below shows you my wonderful, caring and loving son in-law, the coolness that is Janntu Winkler.

I am so happy that Guyke always had this nack of finding the sweetest asnd most wonderful men in his life. That is a great talent, he must have inherited it from his father Ars. (I have another picture of Janttu (absolutely mouthwatering), but I am not allowed to show you that one - well not yet.

My SecondLife would be much poorer without these two and my B-I-L Andrey and of course my little sister Millimina. I love them all to bits!

Alpha Males II

Well my earlier post about Touko Laaksonen and his "Tom of Finland" turned out to be a major eye catcher among my readers, so I am now doing a follow up.

This time I will show you one of the "Toms" in my SecondLife, the fabulous, the loving and the forgiving Andrey Messmer! I am so proud to call him my BIL (brother in-law) again.

"The Cuteness that is Guyke" and "The Coolness that is Janttu" are going to be reinstated as my son and son in-law also as soon as this drama queen gets confirmation from both that its OK to do so.

Hell, I will not wait for confirmation, I´ll do the Nike-thing ...

Back to Andrey now. My BIL is a fantastic photographer in SecondLife, just look at these two examples of his work. WOOOF!

If he wasn´t family I would say he was totally lickable, but now I must be more modest and say instead "He looks rather nice, doesn´t he?"

Andrey showing off ...well himself I guess

New Blog to Follow

These two dudes should be worth following, they are the epiphany of "Cuteness & Coolness"TM.

I am amazed really that they chose such a mundane name as "Guyke and Janttu" for their blog, but perhaps reading this post will make them realize they already have a cooler name handy... (It´s so easy to change name on a blog you wouldn´t believe it!)

No posts yet tho, but I am sure that will come soon!

Well I lost a son yesterday, but today I found two awesome dudes of "Cuteness & Coolness"TM at OrmDricka.

Love you Guyke and Janttu, you guys raise me up!

Changes

It´s time to face the facts. My SecondLife family collapsed when Ars passed away or maybe even before.

By my own choice I still keep an adopted sister, even if I am not really sure that Millimina likes the idea - but she never protested too much so I´ll keep her there for now at least.

My son Guyke was always more Ars son - I got him as a package deal and sort of adopted him. With Ars gone I must accept that the "family tie" is no longer there even if he is a true, loving and caring very good friend. I will love him as family always but I set him free!

With Guyke gone as family, his partner Janttu, who was my son in-law, also leaves my family tree to become a good friend instead.

My brother Martial left SecondLife without a word of goodbye or any explanation long before my Ars got sick. He then came back a few months ago, only to leave again soon after. He left the second time also without any goodbyes or explanations, despite his repeated promises to me he would never, ever, do that again. His future status is unclear.

Andrey, who was the brother of Ars and hence became my brother in-law, told me in a conversation a few weeks ago that he felt estranged from SecondLife and was only going to be in-world when he had his DJ-sets or his partner could be expected to be in-world. For family-ties to exist in a virtual world they have to be by choice on both sides. I will always love him but I set him free also!

With Andrey gone I also lose Liam as a nephew. Well actually I think I really lost him a long time ago, he was never heard from after I sent him the message that Ars had passed away, I guess death was not a part of "his game".

My two other brother in-laws Dejerrity and Jeb, were really friends of Ars and not mine. They have always been sweet and kind to me and I will always love them for the support they gave me when Ars passed away. I set them free too!

Happy Holidays

This terrible year is finally ending and the holiday season somehow always makes you think of the past year. There are so many I would just like to hold tight and whisper thank you to, for all the support and help they have offered me through this year.

I´ll try to make a list, but it will in no way be complete and I know it, so I´ll just focus in on the main characters - all the rest of you let me tell you straight, you kept me up and going also. I could not have done without any or all of you!

So here goes.

Deborah, Marie and Mr Wilson Sr, Ars real life family, for always keeping me informed about what was going on and keeping me in contact with Ars until the end and helping out every way they could after that.

Guyke Lundquist for remembering the good times and reminding me of them, for always, being there ready to weep, rant of laugh with me. Guykes husband Janttu Winkler for always being sweet and patient with us both.

Dejerrity Mycron and Jeb Nicholls, Ars SecondLife brothers, for always being there for me and getting things along when I could not deal with it myself.

Belinda Linden and Keira Linden, then employees at Linden Lab. who showed me great empathy, kind sympathy and gave me wonderful support in dealing with the problems that arose along the way.

Chade Dagger, Ronan Juran, Tim Mersereau and Hiroku and all the rest of the wonderful Hinterland group, for their support and for arranging the very first Memorial.at Saint Magnus Kirk

Millimina Salamander and Zigadena Gabardini, my dear friends, for patiently listening to me rant for hours and hours and hours, for weeping with me and for just always being there.

Tymus Tenk, Truck Meredith, Bora Rossini and Lucky Moody for creating a spot for me and the rest of Ars family and friends in real life and SecondLife to gather and to grieve together and for arranging the magnificent second Memorial Service

My real life family and friends, who were faced with a totally unexpected situation but took it in their stride and just showed me their love

My boss at work who forced me to go to the doctor with the threat of otherwise  leading me there by the hand, my coworkers for helping and supporting me

My doctor for understanding and helping me in my desperation

Ars friends and fans in SecondLife for their kind words and thoughts and consideration, my own friends for the same and for keeping me occupied when I needed it.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, looking at the list I just made I would say it takes a village to help out anyone of us when we need it. I hope to be there for you also when you need me!

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and wish you all a really wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year.

Secret Project

My boys, Janttu Winkler and Guyke Lundquist, during the project
Well friends, when I resigned as generalissimo for the Swedish Lucia pageant I really thought I could start taking it easy again in SecondLife. Let me tell you that did not happen!

The big upcoming holidays always drove my Ars into a frenzy of decorating the sim, the house, himself and even me. He loved getting ready for Christmas as a very young boy would. He also loved going out shopping on his own to bring back home the perfect presents, the perfect trees, plants and flowers, the perfect ... well in short everything.

To tell you the truth it drove me crazy and I thought everything got just a little over the top. I tried to talk with Ars about this once, but I soon noticed he got sad at my rebuke, so I quickly dropped it and started encouraging him instead. It was only for a few weeks anyway, I thought as I resigned myself to the Christmas cheer in overabundance. During our years together I really grew to love it in the end, not to the point that I took part in it but just seeing the beauty that Ars created around me.

This year I haven´t done a single thing to show Christmas is coming, except perhaps I have started the wall of Christmas greetings as they began dropping in.

I do not want to do the Christmas decorating at home because it´s my Ars job! Yes I know that´s a totally irrational feeling as Ars is no longer with me, but that what I feel and I am going with it (even if some Scandinavian may write a post about me with the title "Sob, sob, sob"). I do not feel sorry for myself, I am just sharing my thoughts and feelings, and if that´s how it is interpreted go ahead.

Well today I started my only Christmas project (a bit late I admit but anyway), and it has nothing to do with decorating my sim or building gifts. (I started building gifts awhile but stopped because I had no inspiration.)

The project I started will be something everyone on my friends list will notice in due time and some that are not on it also I am hoping. The picture in this post is a clue.

Hyvä Janttu

The darling Janttu Winkler is my son in law in Second Life.

Janttu comes from Finland, all Finn´s love tango (well Finnish tango, which is a very special kind of tango), so here is some special music just for Janttu.

The singer is Mauno Hakkila in his rendering of "Täysikuu". He is very sweet and sings with great passion, so I am imagining it is what our darling Janttu will look and sound like in about 50 years...

"Hyvä Janttu, kiitos suuri sydän ja kärsivällisyydestä. Minä ja poikani rakastaa sinua väkivaltaisesti. Halauksia, Bock!"

Miss Wigstock 2010

I had a fabulous time last night!

I went to the 4th annual finals of "Miss Wigstock 2010" at the Marduk Theatre on the Pride-sim with my friends Millimina Salamander, Guyke Lundquist and Janttu Winkler. For a short while we were joined by one of the most handsome men in SL, the charmingly flirtatious Loch Wolfhunter.

The sim was soon filled to the limit and the lag was rough, but that has to be expected at popular events like this. Unfortunately I crashed on two occasions, but succeeded in coming back in, so I was still happy.

My main reason for going to this event was to support my brother in law Dejerrity Mycron, who was one of the finalists.

The nine contestants were all amazingly beautiful with gorgeous gowns and outfits, all done in a tongue-in-cheek way. The hairdos were particularily interesting and amusing.

Each of the contestants performed a party song and a torch song. The "Mistress of Ceremonies" was the always charming, but self-admittedly somewhat confused, Queen Edman. Queen was the one who brought the contest to SL from RL four years ago.

For a full and objective account of the occasion please go to Milliminas blog, "Magasin Millimina", because I only had eyes for Dej. For both songs Dej had chosen the classicly sublime gowns and hairdos that reminded us all of the glory days of Joan Crawford.

Dej was supported on the stage by his own back-up boys the always stunning Jeb Nicholls, another of my brother in laws, and the hot Protactinum Thor. (Alas the beautiful green gown did not rez properly for Millimina.)

The winner of the contest was MJshotboy Skytower, but I still think Dej was the best (but I admit I am not impartial in this matter).

Photos courtesy of Millimina Salamander, I was to busy to even think of taking pictures.

Bock - the TV-star med förhinder

Nakna avatarer i SL 4

I proudly give you the secondmost patient man in SL Guyke Lundquist and his beautiful partner Janttu Winkler.

Note-to-self: Remember you have a blog!

*Note to self: "Remember you have a blog now, f f s always take pictures!"*
